do you ever just. purposefully not watch/play something you think that you'll like because you don't want to get hyperfixated on it due to needing to concentrate on things in regular life/fearing your other fixations will be dulled in the process

#i know im going to adore the re-animator and disco elysium when i eventually watch/play them but i've been putting them off because uni #and because fear of losing interest in my other hyperfixations is soo real and scary because man. what will i do then #theyre odd in that specifically videogame hyperfixations i still like casually after they're dulled and sometimes they re-emerge.#but band hyperfixations i will burn out so hard and will never listen to them again . i miss you gorillaz! i dont miss you radiohead.#maple rambles
