regarding kieran, it makes sense why we lie (though it still sucks). his grandfather directly told us to not tell him, and to go against his wishes would be disrespectful to a man from another region (?) that we’re staying in.

and kieran even heard him tell us too, so he can’t be that surprised we don’t say anything.

I think my issue is like. We're told not to tell Kieran to spare his feelings and bc he's 'too young to know the truth' (which. Ok. Sure.)

BUT LIKE. A MOMENT OF HURT FEELINGS IS MANAGEABLE-

"hey, Kieran buddy. Thanks for the candied apples. I think we saw the ogre on the mountain last night, I'm sorry you couldn't see, but we're going to return the mask to her later, do you want to come with?"
