New zin (my beloved) art dropped, I immediately must simp for it. Okay first of all, the composition, I’m in love. The way their staffs frame the piece as well as them filling certain sections just makes it look nice to look at and asjdkfljaThe lighting is gorgeous, I love the golden highlights on Dream’s hair and clothes whereas George has blue bECAUSE SUN AND MOON AND EYYY I SEE WHAT YOU DID THEREEEEEAlso the staffs!! Did I mention the staffs?? Because they look great oml, (hold on moretocome)

some little things about this:

-solar flares vs nebulas was EXACTLY what i was going for!! originally i wanted to go for a more metallic vibe with the staffs but i was playing around with the "burn" blending mode and Something stuck so i tried to emphasize the flares/nebulas look hahaha

-i used burn layers in the bkg as well! their effects are most visible in the left side of the painting but i covered them with the dark blue so they're not as visible 😔 i will Definitely use burn layers more often though :] they're v fun

-george's collarbones and chest were a Pain to render (sternocleidomastoids my abhorred)

-dream's headpiece is one of those greek gold leaf headpieces! gold is like. his only colour here LMAO he's got gold hair, gold eyes, gold robes - for sun symbolism :]

-george's robes are supposed to resemble water! like w the moon's connection to the oceans and all (he also has blue eyes hehe)

-i've recently discovered this fascinating art technique called Actually Blending so i've been trying to improve my clothing folds that way <3 some brushes in my inventory that i've started using more are the hard watercolour and (wet) flat watercolour brush!!
