one of my favorite parts about this scene is how as soon as he shows up, genzo immediately targets bell-mere. not arlong. not the arlong pirates. without even witnessing any violence, he knows she started this. he knows she got in over her head. it’s such a funny but touching detail? really underlines how well they know each other (or at least how predictable bell-mere is to him). genzo knows neither bell-mere nor cocoyashi have the power to stop their crew, so his best bet is to try talking her down to keep the peace. some good insight into genzo's leadership/intelligence on display here.
[video transcript: genzo approaching the arlong pirates and bell-mere, shouting, “Bellemere! Don’t waste your life because you’re a stubborn fool! There’s no reason for this fight when it can be resolved with a simple exchange of money!”]

I started to watch Captain Tsubasa, an Anime about soccer from the 80's. I love it so much... it's so goofy but at the same time it takes itself so damn seriously. This is art. Bonus points for the French dubbing, which is RIDICULOUS. I know it's because of censorship, but still- HOW COULD THEY DO THAT?! It sounds like there's 3 different dudes to voice every character. Hilarious. Anyway, here's Genzo Wakabayashi, aka SGGK for Super Great Goal Keeper (no joke). I like him because, in French, the Anime is called Olive&Tom (Olive because Olivier Atton, or Tsubasa Ozhora in Japanese, and Tom for Tomas Price, or Genzo!). So the guy has his name in the damn title aaaaaaand... he's never on screen. Good job translators. *sarcastic applause*
