hey beauties! long time no see, how are things with you all?

sorry i’ve been a little silent lately, work’s crazy as usual... that’s my excuse every time i talk here.

i’ve got about 180 requests in my inbox right now and although i’m more in the mood to write than ever, i’ve not got a whole bunch of time to squeeze it in.

so i apologise if i take a long time to get back to you on your wonderful asks.

that said, is anybody still reading fics out here? do you guys still want to read things?

we’ve lost a few big blogs lately and i’m not seeing an awful lot of content on my dash, it seems like tumblrweed’s taken over.

regardless, my requests are still wide open if you have any pressing thots.

I stricken with the practical knowledge that I should backup my blog soon, but also "wait, there's so much I still have to reblog/post that won't be backed up!" D=

Yeah. ::sigh:: It certainly drains my urge to reblog stuff, knowing that it might get flagged or deleted by a bot at any moment.

I’ve already lived through several mass internet migrations—listservs to forums to LJ to Tumblr—and each one meant that I lost touch with good friends and creators whose work I loved. I’m not looking forward to that happening again.

I do have a Pillowfort blog (same username) but I’m not optimistic about its chance of longterm success based on its business model, extremely slow growth, and downtime to date. While PF may be a great concept, it’s clearly not scalable to anything close to LJ or even DW.

I’ll probably create a Twitter account (under another username since someone else beat me to this one) just to keep up with my favourite artists, since that’s where they seem to be headed. But I dislike Twitter in general, and Discord servers move too fast for me to be able to keep up… so I’ll be here for at least a little while longer.

Time to be real

Dear fellow Tumblrweeds, We all know that Tumblr is all about diversity and self-expression, we have art, we can be our true selves, we find other people that we fit in with, it's great. However, in all honesty, I see Tumblr becoming a little less Diverse. Some people fail to realize that Diversity is more than just "Black Lives Matter" and "Gay Pride". Diversity is about EVERY single soul being valid, and important. It's about everyone, no matter what race, sexuality, religion, body type, gender, and so on being together as one, and showing kindness to each other, because at the end of the day we are all the same. The "norm-shaming" has to got to stop, just because someone is white does not mean they are racist, just because someone is straight doesn't not mean they are homophobic, and just because someone is cis, doesn't not mean they are transphobic. Being different in my hometown is very frowned upon, growing up I always kept the old saying in my head, "treat others how you would like to be treated". I still go by the quote, and it really opened my eyes to a whole new definition of diversity. So please, stop fighting? No more straight-shaming, no more white-shaming, no more religion shaming. We need to stop the drama, and look for our own souls in others. Good vibes always. Love, Just Another Tumblrweed.
