UP10TION BLUE ROSE; DETECTIVE AU PT5

JUST step out of the company, they see Yohan waiting on a bench. M was surprised that he would still chase after A but liked his determination. Out of all the people A had seen before he liked Yohan the most, KU and KA also supported their relationship although they were never confirmed as a couple. 

The real reason Yohan was there was because A felt guilty for earlier, she also knew he’d follow them back to the company anyway so she texted him. She told the others to walk ahead in the meantime she quickly ran to Yohan giving him the yellow roses and a different note that expressed her apology and also a warning to stay away and not to ask questions for the time being. Yohan didn’t even get the chance to open his mouth before she was already running back to JUST’s side. 

When they reach the corner of the massive company building Kate notices Wooseok leaning against the wall checking his phone. “Oh hey Wooseok!” she greets, startling him and attracting the others attention towards him. 

KU: “are you waiting for us or something?” 

Wooseok: “not exactly..” 

Kuba turns towards the group before turning back and accusingly points his finger towards Wooseok. “You’re spying on us!” 

Wooseok lowkey panics, JUST pick up on this but just waits for his response or more so excuse. “No! I was just passing by and decided to visit you guys so we could return to the base together.. but um.. notifications you know..” he tried to convince. 

“You could always turn your phone off, or just leave it on do not disturb mode” KU suggested. “Kuba, it’s already quarter to 9, there’s no time for your rant about phones ruining missions! let’s go before Jinhoo starts whining.” A remarked this sparked JUST’s memories of the last time they were late to one of Up10tion’s meetings.

KA: “We were literally called for an emergency an hour before the meeting! we barely escaped with our lives!”

KU: “I was this close to being shot by those bastards!”. He used actions to exaggerate his words.

A: “That was the first time I had to drive runaway and my second time driving a car”

M: “okay but at least Y/N and Kuba had experience being hostages beforehand, that was terrifying”

A just laughs at the other’s traumatic experience, she had gone through enough hostages and wild missions before that she was immune to almost anything, she knew the others were too but it was fun to exaggerate their first pressuring times on a mission.

Wooseok: “They really make you go through that?”. He was quite concerned, half of them had just turned 18 that year, they would've only been around 16-17 at the time and wouldn’t that task be for the police force in the company?

M quickly brushed off the question with a shrug as the others nodded. “it was part of our case, it was our responsibility..” M added.

They took a few more steps forwards before they were interrupted by A’s phone ringing. She checked the caller with KU and Wooseok looking in from over her shoulder. It was Yohan. She swiftly put her phone away after blocking his number. “They take up a lot of time don’t they?” Wooseok commented.

“Are we talking about phones again.. or her boyfriend?” Ku questioned. “Kuba I wouldn’t-” before M could finish his warning A turned to the others advising them not to have any contact with Yohan or as little possible contact with him.

“Why?” Kate asked the question everyone had on their mind but knew not to push it, KA didn’t get the memo. Before A got too worked up by the question M quickly answered for her, “it’s a delicate subject and this is a delicate case..”.

KU: “you guys have been very secretive lately..” A and M both ignore his comment and continue walking at a faster pace than the others, Wooseok tries to keep up while the other 2 look at them from behind wanting to know what they’re hiding.

As they walk further into the city towards the company car, A spots Wei in the distance. Without warning A runs to him, the others take a second before they follow suit. “Hey! you coming to the meeting” A greets when she reaches Wei. “yeah of course” he responds, greeting the others when they eventually get to him. He acts calm but he was just as startled as Wooseok earlier.

Wooseok: “Wei! What are you up to?” 

Wei: “Errands.. I almost forgot about the meeting..”

KU: “Seems like we keep picking you guys up along the way, might as well go together.” 

“We’re taking my car” M stated to the group, the members of JUST nodded already knowing this info. Wei also nodded while Wooseok whined, “Why do you guys park so far away?”, although he was still lowkey complaining he was also quite curious. 

KA: “It’s a 5-minute walk? not even 2-minutes if you run!”

A: “It’s more convenient for certain circumstances, now let’s get going before Jinhoo actually starts whining.” 

M: “Okay but seriously! I’m sorry we were 6 minutes late! Our lives were at stake! Give us a break!” 

The others just laughed slightly at M’s comment referring back to their earlier conversation as Wei looked confused. They finally reach the car and M drives to their destination arriving with minutes to spare.

The 6 arrive in front of Up10tion’s door before they could even knock Jinhoo had already opened the door. Jinhoo opened the door before quickly closing it halfway, using it to block their view of the chaos inside. With Up10tion’s leader being half outside and half inside JUST could still hear and catch glimpses of the discord inside. 

“You guys are early..” Jinhoo greeted. “don’t give out to us for being early..” Kuba whined to himself, to which A and Wooseok just laughed at. A checks the time on her watch before showing it to Jinhoo, “actually we’re just on time”, the watch showing it was exactly 9′oclock. 

At this moment Kuhn comes to the door, Jinhoo was hoping he’d save him from his awkward position but instead with Kuhn being taller than Jinhoo he looks to see who arrived over Jinhoo. When he sees the 2 stray members he yells towards them causing Jinhoo to flinch.“Yah! Wei! Wooshin! where were you?” Kuhn yells giving the 2 a stern look before turning to JUST a greeting them with a small hello. 

“so... can we come in?” A asks, with her question Kuhn turns back in panic then finally opening the door for their guests followed by a “Welcome..” 

Once JUST step in they are greeted with the rest of Up10tion sat down at a dark mahogany table that was able to fit all 14 members of the team. Still not being seated on the modern spinning chairs the boys were sat on, JUST stood awkwardly before Sunyoul spoke up excitedly. 

 “Y/N-ah! you can come sit next to me!” he yelled out. “yah this isn’t the first day of school” Kogyoul retorted trying to keep things professional. JUST look at each other before following Wei and Wooshin to sit at the table. A followed behind M but then she noticed a picture of the blue rose pinned surrounded by red string forming a triangle around it. She stopped in her tracks with Kuba at her heels with Kate right after him confused but they just walk around her, almost used to her actions. 

A points towards the red triangular shape framing her sister’s symbol, “you know that’s not exactly how the red string works” she mentioned before taking a seat next to Sunyoul, who had swapped places with Wei to be able to sit next to her. “That was there when I woke up..” Hwanhee was about to continue but Xiao swiftly got into the conversation. “Our investigations lead to Wooshin doing it last night” Xiao announced looking towards the suspect for a response. “You can’t take it down tho! It’s like a piece of art!” Gyujin retaliated, Kate agreeing with him. A is taken back from the sudden response, “I didn’t say anything about changing it..” she replied. 

Xiao still kept his eyes towards Wooshin waiting for his response, after A and Gyujin’s resolution everyone’s heads turned to him. Wooshin looked around at everyone’s eyes on him, he swallowed before speaking, “I couldn’t sleep last night.. I was kinda sleep-deprived while creating it..”. “You too?” M asked causing A to give him a look, M returned her glare with an innocent look then realising why she was glaring he mouthed an apology “sorry, I didn’t mean it that way”.  The others watch their interaction carefully, piecing the information together quickly. 

As Xiao opened his mouth to ask further questions Wooshin interrupted, “ahh let’s get back on track shall we?”. Kuhn nods turning to Jinhoo to lead the meeting, flustered Jinhoo not ready but tried to start the convo turning to A, “um…. So how are you guys doing? You and Yoh-“, with the potential mention of Yohan she quickly cut Jinhoo off. “We aren’t here to talk about our personal lives, there’s no need to mention anything that doesn’t concern the case” A proposed quite seriously, to which everyone nodded while Kuba mouths ‘I think they broke up’

“Yah KU! Anything back from the labs?” A stared scolding Kuba with her eyes but not wanting to make a scene. Kuba got the message gulping down before he spoke. 

The meeting began and continued on from there. Kogyeol responsible for taking notes down on a whiteboard, Xiao inputting info into his computer, the rest taking notes with pen and pencil or listening and thinking intensely during the few hours of the meeting. With not much information back from the labs and not a lot of real evidence to provide real confirmation to their theories.
