So, like I mentioned with the previous ask, the two main WIPs I'm rotating between this month is a piece for Noct's birthday and an aside piece to my NyxNoct Cagefighter AU. So, I'm gonna answer these for both of those! ^.^

Apologies in advance for rambles :')

7.) Do you listen to music while writing your WIP? If so, what? Do you have a playlist?

Music is a must for any all of my WIPs! Anything I write, I always needs something, even if it's instrumental, to fit the vibe of whatever I happen to be writing in the moment! No distractions, no background TV white noise, no. No! Just no. Only music!!

Noct's Bday Fic: It's funny because I'm actually using the playlist I made for my NyxNoct Masquerade fic. I didn't expect to, but that particular playlist has some good romantic vibes (the bday fic is also NyxNoct, surprise surprise amirite? ^^;) that I'm trying my best to channel in this fic as well.

That playlist has a total of 10 tracks, but for this bday fic in particular, I only listen to 5 of those ten which are;

Summertime Sadness - Lana Del Rey Young and Beautiful (DH Orchestral Version) - Lana Del Rey I Could Almost Feel You - Owsey Young and Beautiful (String Quartet) - Stringspace Young and Beautiful - Vitamin String Quartet

(oops I did not realize until this very moment that 3/5 of these are different versions of the same song.. heh.) ((shout out to my treasured music buddy Jazz for tipping me off to the romantic Lana vibes waybackwhen))

Cagefighter AU: Listen, hear me out. This AU is my baby ;u; I have cultivated this AU's playlist over the years, and I'm still stupidly proud of/obsessed with it. With a total of 70 songs, spanning 4 hours and 3 mins, according to spotify! (I literally just added a new song to it earlier, once again thanks to Treasured Music Buddy Jazz <;3)

For the aside piece I'm currently doing for this AU - I've been listening to a certain chunk of the playlist, which are 7 tracks in total. They are;

It's a, erm, very feelsy aside piece ;u;

8.) How do you feel about this WIP? Is it frustrating? Fun? Strange? Noct's Bday Fic: This one's been fun but also challenging. Whenever there's a particular romantic vibe I want to nail, the pressure cranks up like 2p938490%, I'm sure any writer can vouch for that. Not only that, but I'm trying to build up my confidence in writing a certain element in this fic. The confidence is not entirely there lmao but I'm determined to adopt the Fuck It mindset and keep rolling with it. I can't get better at it if I don't try, right? We all must start somewhere ^^;

Cagefighter AU Aside: If anyone asked me about Cagefighter AU as a whole, man oh man would I say it's an absolute roller coaster. But like I said before, this AU is my baby, regardless, and it has such a big space in my silly writer heart.

This particular aside, well, it's been I believe a year(?) in the making (life stuff, writer's block, the usual writer roadblocks). I've been reworking what I already wrote for it many moons ago and, this time around, it feels a lot more exciting. It's something that's going to shed more direct light on Noctis' backstory; sort of like a flashback piece of what's already been touched on/mentioned, but I wouldn't necessarily have time to implement in the main story. If you ever catch me rambling about this AU - Noct's backstory means so much to me in this AU, he has been through a lot ;u;

Even if it's feelsy, it's fun and exciting because his backstory means that much to me!!!!! ;u;

At the same time, it is actually a little strange because, despite the AU being NyxNoct, Nyx doesn't really have a part in this aside. And it's so hard not writing Nyx in something?? Not having Nyx there to make all the things Noct's going to go through in this better :')

Also, Ignis is a main player in this aside! And Ignis, typically for me, is the chocobro I probably struggle with writing the most ^^; if I tear out my hair on anything in this fic, it will be the frustration of feeling like I'm not writing a realistic Ignis :') That, and the frustration of nailing the.. Depth of emotions there are supposed to be in this aside.

Really, I can't just wait for that sigh of relief when I finally finish and post this. Nerve wracking as that will be ^^;
