I finally finished the Midnight Mass cross stitch for my friend. And now I'm realizing that I didn't fully center it in the hoop before I gave it to her so now I just gotta live with that.

I used a pattern from ThreadyPlayerOne on etsy, tho I changed the face, a few details in the wings, and added the gold outline.

Seriously the first chapter in 6 (bad candy) is like my favourite opener #Kei they could NEVER EVER make me hate you. did nothing wrong ever. rhian when I CATCH you #its so funny how my two favourite characters just like. hate each other. like japeth literally kills him #sad cause they're so SIMILAR. theyre both victims of Dog Metaphor its so sad that kei does Not like japeth in the slightest #personally if they had a good long discussion about their emotions at like 3am they could've probably stopped TCY from happening #but alas. Aric. somehow its all his fault again. why do I have an aricposting tag but not a keiposting one.#Hester easily has the best overall characterisation arc I love love love the way soman writes her #I remember when I read 6 for the first time #before japeth insanity happened #I used to anticipate her chapters over like everyone else's. Hester the 1 lesbian in the series you are deeply loved #I could write whole essays about japeth and kei's characterisation it is so sad that soman forgets kei exists #like he's meant to be rhian's eagle. that's his job. that's what he's spent a Long Time anticipating becoming #but rhian refuses to acknowledge it. instead he calls Japeth his eagle in book 4's ending #He eventually falls in love with Sophie #he only ever cares about the crown #how he GETS to the crown #and bringing his mother back. he lies more than japeth #and never once does he get to be the eagle. #A great episode tbh especially given the low budget. I feel like they really did their very best #And even though what I'm going to say next is probably going to be all critic - because I nitpick things and that's what I always end up–#talking about - I still want to underline that it was a very solid and enjoyable episode!!!#Alright the ss/kk was so 💞💞💞 every scene I had to rewatch twice or thrice akhscbashfb they're so cute!!!#Except for the riding scene tho. That scene gives me massive second hand embarrassment every time I just wish it will end as fast as–#possible pffttt. Mmmmhhh... The drawings weren't even too bad all accounted. My main complain is about the quicksand scene...#I feel like that one should be a slow quiet emotional scene. I never licked the choice of using the song as background soundtrack :/#I feel like it ruins the mood of the scene (it was still good though)#I also... Generally don't like the direction they seem to go for with Akutagawa's character in the anime‚ he seems quite a bit flatter–#compared to how he is in the manga. He can't be angry and evil ALL the time you need to show that softness get through from time to time.#If not what even is the point of his character. Yet in the anime he's angry (and not distraught) when he loses the mine craft and he's–#angry when he's questioning Atsushi about his motifs and he's angry when he's bragging about Atsushi's abilities to Goncharov and he's–#angry when he makes the promise with Atsushi at the end of the episode and eventually he'll be just as angry even when telling Atsushi–#to run away as he's sacrificing his life for him. It is pretty flat at the end of the day.#If I can say something about K/ensho Ono without being killed I think they do contribute to making him feel angry all the time.#But that said it's all probably poor directing choices (or simply choices I don't agree with).#Also‚ about cuts. Usually I try to be lenient about it– I understand it's hard to fit in everything and b/sd already does a very–#good job by adapting the manga almost panel-by panel. It's just that... You skip Akutagawa showing compassion for Atsushi after the–#orphanage director died. You skip Atsushi sharing the same compassion when Akutagawa loses his targed in the mines chase. You skip the–#“Nothing special about that. // I suppose he's far crueler than my own mentor.” line. And sure each of them may be negligible by their own #But together they wave a consistent web of relationship between the two characters you know? And it's a loss to omit them all #Well no mind. Again it was still a great episode overall!!!!#I think the colors in the mines could have been prettier in the mines but we can't have it all #Off to season 4!!! Omg I can't believe we got this far :DDD #random rambles #FINALLY was able to catch up in time for the season 3 finale!!!!!!

also, if you enjoyed the video, i HIGHLY recommend watching get back--like, i genuinely cant recommend it enough, it's a three part documentary directed by peter jackson of all people (the guy who made lord of the rings), and its just footage of them grappling with interpersonal issues while making let it be. no talking heads from modern day butting in with their opinions, just four guys in their twenties trying (and failing) to hold onto each other. it's the thing that spurred me to take a closer look at them, like it’s so good

hello beautifuls, i got a job offer last week in [redacted] and i’m so grateful and excited to be… making money again! and to finally have my own place and fix it up to my taste and get 2 cats 🥹 there’s a job in [redacted] w the same exact salary range and i’m really hoping i get it bc it’s a much more desirable hot girl walkable city. my final interview for that job is next wednesday send hot girl city job offer vibes my way pls

a surreal Sri Lankan fantasy about colonialism, revolution, mixing fantasy with the modern world

follows a man raised by his mother to kill his father, a god-like cult leader

but as an adult he puts aside his life of violence and moves to the city for a quiet life

he becomes fascinated with ‘bright doors’ around the city that never open and have no other side, and joins a group studying them to find out more

and a support group for those with divine heritage that becomes increasingly revolutionary, until the task he was made for reemerges and his life upends

#the Saint of Bright Doors #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #this is kind of hard to explain I dont know if I did a very good job here lol #it is weird and full of so many interesting elements. I’m still not entirely sure how I feel about it but?? I really liked it mostly???#It starts pretty small scale focused on the MC & slowly unravels the wider worldbuilding and narrative elements in a really interesting way #The first chapter or two I assumed it was typical high fantasy but then it’s like. oh this is a modern city. with emails and stuff.#The pacing is a bit weird - it’s quite meandering and also pivots significantly in the second half. tbh I’m still ????? about the ending lm #but also I am happy to float through on vibes.#and there’s some elements (like the doors that become….not that relevant) that I want to know more about. (as an aside - I saw someone say #that it’s a very clear retelling about Buddha’s son? which idk enough about but probably could give a deeper context to a lot of it)#writing style is kinda detached from the MC but also there is a reason for this that makes sense with the twist near the end!#which is a kind of twist i LOVE. Maybe I wish it had been emphasised a bit more over the story though? unsure.#I thought his mother's story was interesting also - you think she's an terrible parent just there for background context at the start but #then when she tells her story it's like ohh there's more context here.#also I hesitate to just say ‘if you like the spear cuts-- you should read this’ because I think the elements that are similar are done in a #kinda different way and might disappoint you if you’re expecting it to be the same as spear….but regardless the sort of dreamy writing #rich world; narrative with fantasy but also modern day elements; some of the writing style; mlm MC (tho not a romance)#idk. it will definitely not work for everyone but I enjoyed it overall #also it is full of queerness #bisexual books

i think this is a nice way to follow up on lucifer's manipulation in season 11. sam's been relatively passive since he got out of the cage for various reasons, and with lucifer egging him on to return to his pre-torture roots, this feels like a good way to reclaim his agency. the whole of season 12 sam has let dean call the shots while he follows behind, and even the brother conflicts this season aren't as magnanimous as they've been in the past. for it to all culminate in this feels really nice: he takes back his agency and his will without compromising who he's become or "reversing" any of the developments he's had since he got out of hell. he denies lucifer what he wanted while simultaneously getting back his strength—a perfect middle ground, just like he's been seeking this whole season

#liveblogging: supernatural #12.22 #finally i have something to say about this season that isn't negative #i would make a tongue in cheek comment that they didn't develop this arc well enough but honestly? i think they did #even looking at this season in bad faith like my headache and disdain want me to do i can't deny that this was a very nice arc for sam #and on top of that it connects back to a major event in season 11 so it's not disconnected from the overall narrative #so good job guys. you did good here #.txt #spn posting #spn12

been watching fukumen d and it's amazing how good dori sakurada is at playing bad characters. everytime he's on screen I'm wanting masa to get his ass beat.
