hello! im still that anon who was insufferable in your askbox about vapoursynth and stuff. when you gif bts episodes from youtube how do you get them so sharp but not that much? i admire you.. do u have to use vapoursynth for it?

pls its no bother at all i love talking about giffing!!! so my recent set i made of jhope at the proof exhibition i didnt use any vapoursynth at all! honestly i dont think ive used vs at all since the last time we talked if i remember correctly! honestly its just a personal preference of mine but ive really grown to hate the way it makes videos look 😖

so for that video i just clipped the parts i wanted to gif and threw it right into photoshop and did minimal sharpening. i deleted the psd already and i dont remember exactly but for sharpening it was definitely less than 500% 0.3px. youtube compresses videos and low quality videos like that cant usually take very much sharpening which is why those gifs dont look as sharp as some of my others. while im sharpening i basically just do as much as i can without going so far that it begins to look oversharpened and gets those thin lines around the edges of things in the vid. honestly thats all u can really do with lq vids like that and ive learned to just cut myself some slack,, but i hope my explanation makes sense!!
