#aikatsu stars#aikatsu stars!#lily shirogane#shirogane lily#i was honestly so surprised at this response#im used to 'because i love seeing everyone smile' Always being the answer when someone is asked why they're doing something#there are older shoujo anime that are very much about accomplishing things for yourself but i don't see that much in recent shoujo anime#precure is very very much a 'for everyone's smiles' franchise and aikatsu was too for the most part#and then it did... this#neat#it's great to do things because you love to make people happy#but there are lots of other good reasons to do things passionately!#i think it's Especially good that it's lily saying this since there is an epectation for people w/ chronic illness to be#Perfect Hardworking Saints#as if that's necessary to. justify their existence or something#that definitely can be true of other disabilities as well#ofc MOST of the characters in pripara are idols for their own sake#and this does include a main character who is both chronically ill and neurodivergent#so like rola said it's not really... strange for lily to be singing for herself#but hearing it said directly is a breath of fresh air
