#colorism tw#so i am a lightskinned black person. when i say lightskinned i mean one white grandmother and one lightskinned grandmother.#i was in canada for 4 months (during the winter) and naturally came back pale as hell#i live in the caribbean which means year round sunshine and i LOVE being outside#so when i came back home in the summer i was outside a lot and naturally my skin tanned#i think this is the darkest ive ever been? one of my friends told me this is the most tanned shes ever seen me#this is fine with me#personally ive never been more in love with my own skin tone#but my MOTHER.#see one thing about jamaicans，a lot of them are colorist like it pays the bills#especislly the older generations#and my mother will not stop saying that my complexion is 'ruined' and i need to go back to canada to get white again#like. lady. i already feel like shit because of my acne???#not only that but my sister is darker than both of us... how do you think that makes her feel???#its really shitty#and its crazy bc i saw my gp earlier today (shes nigerian) and she was talking ab the racism she faced in texas#while also saying shes never understood it bc look how beautiful dark skin is??#and then to come home to that... yeah#shut up kayla
