Who is the more loved parent? - (what even…) Both have their moments. Jason’s better with nightmares in the middle of the night and cuddles, while Arty’s the one who handles the crying and tantrums the best.

Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? Jason and Arty go together to the meetings. And get kicked out nearly every meeting.

Who cried the most at graduation? - Neither. Jason’s the obnoxious dad who’s bragging so everyone can hear, while Arty’s the one with the camera.

Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? - Jason. (while laughing and a nice ‘we never tell your mother about this’)

Who does the most cooking? - Jason.

Who is the most picky in their food choice? - Neither.

Who does the grocery shopping? - It’s a family affair. 

How often do they bake desserts? - No desserts normally get baked so much as bought. Unless it’s a gift from Alfred.

Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? - Meat! (unless Damian comes over then Jason tries to cater to him… it’s not very often)

Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? - Both try, but surprises rarely work.

Chores:

Who cleans the room? - Both.

Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? - Jason, which he then puts in a jar for the kids.

Who takes the longer showers/baths? - Arty. They have a soaking tub just for her.

Who takes the dog out for a walk? - Jason. He might use it as a way to patrol while NOT patrolling.

How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays? - Every holiday, in grand fashion.

What are their goals for the relationship? - Happily Ever After until the End of Time.

Who is most likely to sleep till noon? - Jason. Mostly cause he normally gets in around 8am.

One Year Anniversary

I should have written this earlier but I have been too busy with work.

Things I felt great about the past year:

I have my own support network: Dil Dar, Catiah & Antoine, Teng , Our Yangpu pack. People I can count on when I am stressed and feeling negative, people really care about me even I was being a bit too aggressive and unpleasant. 

I recovered my friendship with Will. I realized we all suffered in the US. I was insecure and he was insecure,  and we were all immature about things in life. He is still insecure, but coming back home is a better choice for him. He is still him, but at least he is not evil. 

I found a job so far I am truly passionate with. I like my boss, and enjoy the projects we are working on. I was put into a more serious role and I am a bit stressed. But I am glad I got fired in the US and then quit my first job in China. I can’t imagine what life would be life if I was still in Boston. Well, actually it won’t be bad. I met Artie last 2 days in Boston, and I know he would be my support if I stayed. But I might never meet Dan, never meet other interesting souls that I have encountered. I may never bound with Eric, or meeting people like Peggy and Fiona. 

Things I hope I could have done better:

I should not choose to live with a 22 year old girl. It was a bad decision. I don’t know if Felix is actually a good person. She is still too young and her negative energy is so scary. It reminds me of myself sometimes and I hope the best for her but please, don’t want you to be in my life anymore.

I should be more cautious and open about dating. I have met many people, but not many have interesting souls and personalities. Shanghai is so superficial and sometimes I feel like living in The Great Gatsby. I haven’t seen many people being true to themselves. Not even have an opinion about things matter. Or just simply being a dick. When I actually find someone interesting, I know they could feel I am too intimidating. For example, I have not realized the level of conservativeness of Asian men and I am too unconventional for their tastes.

However, I no longer have the fear that I had. I truly don’t give a shit about how men perceive me. I just think it is important for me to embrace my feminine part. Over the years, I was trying to be “ unconventional”, to be cool and to prove I can be stronger and be independent. Now I made my goal. I want to be unconventionally attractive. 以柔克刚 and tune a bit down of my Helen side seems necessary. 

I am excited about the change I am going to make. I never want to be anyone’s princess, but being a queen also requires good female energy.

Things I don’t want to admit but I need to be honest about.

I think I am still a bit angry with Alvin. I decide to put him outside my circle because I realized that he doesn’t really belong to my world. He is the actual “crazy rich Asian”. I didn’t know Singaporeans are that rich. 

I sometimes have my what if moment and feel a bit insecure when people around me are getting married or have a new baby. I was worried if life is a game, not be able to have a kid and become a parent, I will miss out a big part of the game and not living my full potential as a human. I haven’t found out the alternatives, I was worried I can’t be ....let’s say, complete?

I still think about Min. Not like I want him back, and I know he is not what I remembered because we are all living. I felt so different right now compared to what I felt when we broke up, I bet there are some changes in his life too. I could say, without him, I am not who I am right now. But sometimes I was wondering, if I have made a better choice, maybe I would have a better life, or a completely different one? I was looking at the pic Will sent me of that Halloween party in New York City, oh man, we were so happy. I was in love and he was having an epic time. We didn’t know, dramas were waiting and life can have such a dramatic change just in such a short time.

I don’t know if I would ever talk to him again. I don’t know if that will be necessary. I never thought that mid-autumn festival would be the last time we saw each other, without a proper goodbye. Shit happens, my dog died. Life is so unpredictable. 

I hope one day before I die, the right moment I would see him again, the universe would give us a chance to say hi, and then bye, and then we can actually give a definition of what we have is. For me, it was my first heart felt love. I wish I could know his answer when I am strong enough to know.
