I specifically chose cor lapis because I hc it to be one of Zhongli's favorite stones. Idk where the idea came from but I like it. So now I'm thinking about Zhongli hearing from the milileth that there is a weird cor lapis formation in the chasm, only to see the shield that's humming with Geo energy and the imposter right behind it -sibling anon

they’d definitely call him; he’s in the city, rarely busy, and knows a lot about rocks.

as.. one of his status (trying very hard to avoid spoilers but you know what i mean) i imagine he can probably ‘read’ the history of ore, like why it formed, whether by resonance or by simply feeling for the crystal structure.

way i tried to write it was reader would leave and zhongli would come, flanked by millelith to see the wall has dropped, leaving only a bed of the jewel behind. they swear there was a massive rock there before but he just steps forward, laying a hand on the vaguely nest-like formation.

either he can’t read anything at all (since for all intents and purposes it really is Just A Rock) or he can feel the faint tinge of divine energy, lingering on the surface of the stone long after the source of it has left.
