#when I was in Gynecology I was in the room with women#waiting a little after their pregnancy interruptions#me as a student couldn’t really say anything (like ever) but they saw me there and just start sharing their stories#one of them said ‘this is my 5th pregnancy my husband doesn’t want another baby but he won’t buy condoms. they’re expensive’#another one said she couldn’t afford a third baby without a job and she was starting having severe health issues#and another one changed her mind at the end.#she was there in the room so happy she didn’t go through#my point is: you have to give people the freedom of choice#because life is unpredictable and every person knows their facts#knows if they can or not afford to grow a baby#if they want or don’t want to sacrifice their entire life to be parents or be parents again#i’ve always kinda cringed when people describe pregnancies as miracles or whatever#this comes from an overexcitement for life#but where are you when young children are used by criminal organisations because their families are basically poor#where re you when the system doesn’t support their education#where are you when they are abused and mistreated by their own families#where are you when those children navigate the Mediterranean sea to escape from war#sometimes by themselves#where are you when they get alienated and bullied in school#not everyone is ready at every minute to be a parent#not choosing to be a parent is actually the worst thing that can happen to a baby#because the worst and severe traumas come from families#and i know the dynamics behind the roevwade are more complicated#and rooted in racism and economics and religion i guess#but still#it’s kinda scary because I feel this move coming from the US kinda legitimate other injustices around the world
