some of my favourite ao3 comment phrases that i’ve received:

“fucking superb you funky little writer” did you hear that not only am i a funky little writer but i’m also, and i quote, ‘fucking superb’ like how do i get over this high

calling fics/updates “bangers” - this one is so funny and touching like thanks when the bass drops it’s another banger

“this wrecked me” let’s gooooooo idk this is such a succinct and beautiful way to say hey, you wrote this as a human being and I, as a fellow human being, saw and was able to connect to that in a deep and meaningful way

alternatively: readers giving you a lil bit of their life story because your story connected to that part of their lives and they SAW IT and they wanted to share it brb crying in the club

when readers call me “my guy” idk why but this is always followed by a very long and touching paragraph also I just think it’s fun to be called “my guy” why doesn’t anyone do this irl

“thank you for writing this” thank you for existing how am i supposed to be composed and Normal when responding to this TT

“I hope you [insert something I specifically talked about in my author’s notes]” okay this isn’t about the story it’s just about being a human being and connecting to other human beings and how we just casually want good for each other even if it does nothing for us

“hits all the beats” “good flow” “like the pacing” etc there is nothing quite so flattering as knowing that not only do they think your story is good but they also thing that each of the puzzle pieces were arranged in the correct manner
