Kitten's Collar
Chapter, 12
It had been a long week, and Alexis hadn't seen Clint since the morning after she'd been to his house. He'd been working out of town, and his boss's, dumb "No cell phone policy" had limited their conversations to intermittent text, and a few phone calls each day. But she was excited about seeing him again, and the surprise Clint said he'd planned for the two of them.
She finished putting together her overnight bag, and hopped in her car, to head to his place. The smell of honeysuckle, and pine filled the air when she rolled her windows down, as she turned onto the rock road leading to Clints trailer. The buzz of crickets chirping was so loud, she had to turn the radio up to hear the lyrics.
Billy-Bob's ears perked up, and he dashed out the cat door to investigate the unfamiliar thumping sound pulling into the driveway.
Clint glanced out the kitchen window, rolling his eyes, and shaking his head at the ridiculous pop song blaring from her little car. He just couldn't understand how any self respecting woman, could tolerate music, so blatantly degrading to their gender, much less enjoy listening to it. His mental rant was interrupted, when he began laughing to himself, as he watched Alexis nervously trying to avoid Billy-Bob on her way to the door. Seeing that she was still a little scared of him, Clint met her on the front porch.
"Good evening, Gorgeous!" He smiled, slipping one arm around her waist, pulling her through the door, and giving her a long, slow, passionate kiss as they entered. "Mmm..." He moaned, pushing the door closed.
"Happy to see me?" She smiled, her cocky little smile.
"Extraordinarily happy, Kitten!" He smiled, back lovingly.
Grabbing on to his shoulder, and dropping her bag on the couch, she swung around, with her arms stretched out, interlocking her fingers behind his neck. As he placed his hands on her hips, she tilted her head slightly to the side, and smiled, "Why do I feel all tingly, every time you call me that?"
"I don't know... Why DO you feel all tingly, when I call you Kitten?" He grinned, devilishly.
"You're doin that thing again." She giggled.
"What thing?" He asked.
"That thing, where you look at me, like a wolf looks at a baby rabbit!" She laughed.
"Well... You know how you said, you "feel all tingly" when I call you Kitten?"
"Yeah..." She replied, curiously.
"Well... When you look at me, with that cocky little smile, it makes me feel... umm... a little aggressive." He grinned, deviously.
"Aggressive, how?" She smirked, cutting her eyes up at him.
He slowly drew his lower lip into his mouth, and held it there, as his eyes intensified, "Like, I want to devour, every... single... inch... of you!"
She felt her heart beat quicken, and shivered as a tingle began somewhere between her knees, and crawled it's way up her body, settling at the base of her neck. "How the fuck do you do that?" She asked, smiling hugely.
"Do what, Sweetheart?"
"Make me feel like that?" She smiled, widening her eyes.
"Feel like what, Kitten?"
"Like... I don't know... Like, I don't really know how to explain it." She giggled.
"Do you like it?" He asked.
"Hell yeah!" She chuckled.
"Then stop worrying about it, and enjoy it." He smiled. "Are you hungry?"
"Are you jokin? It's me! I'm always hungry." She laughed.
"Good, because there's about fifty gallons of spaghetti in the kitchen, that needs to be eaten." He laughed.
Clint walked her to the kitchen, and pulled her chair out at the table. Alexis sat down, and smiled at the old oil lamp, flickering at the center of the table. A few minutes later, Clint sat a plate in front of her, with a liberal serving of spaghetti, and a large piece of buttered garlic bread. He retrieved a bottle of homemade, red wine from the refrigerator, and poured two glasses, before taking his seat. Reaching out, he took her hand, and bowed his head to pray. Bowing her head, and closing her eyes, Alexis smiled to herself, as a calmness setteled over her, when his gravely voice fill the air.
"This looks really nice, but just so you know. I don't normally eat spaghetti if the noodles are mixed in with the sauce." Alexis said, crinkling her nose a bit.
"Perhaps you should try it, before you decide you don't like it?" He said, quietly while picking up his fork.
Rolling her eyes at his condescending tone, she picked up her silverware and began twirling her pasta. It wasn't long, and she realized she had spoken too soon, because her plate was nearly empty, except for a few small pieces of pasta, scattered throughout the streaks of marinara.
"Huh... Apparently the pasta being cooked in the sauce, doesn't bother you, quite as much as you let on." He smiled, sarcastically.
Damn it, he was right.... She thought. Why the hell did she eat it all? She could have eaten a few bites, and said she was full. Then he would be the one feeling awkward right now. But noooo, you had to eat it all didn't you, fatass? Now he's sitting there, with that arrogant look on his face, because he KNOWS he was right, and you were wrong! And you know good and damn well he expects you to admit you were wrong, don't you? That shit was pretty good though. She smiled to herself. Okay, dumby, are you gonna tell him it was good, and admit he was right, or are you gonna say it was okay, you were just really hungry? Fuck. He's not gonna buy that story... Fuck it, let him have this one, but next time think about this shit before you scarf down the whole damn plate.
"Okay, you ain't gotta rub it in. You were right, it was really good." She smiled, with her mouth twisted to the side, cutting her eyes at the wall, waiting for the sarcasm.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it, Sweetheart." He smiled, picking up the dishes, and carrying them to the sink.
Holy shit... no smartass comment? Well, that's nice of him. He must have something else in his min...
"Would you like another plate?" He asked, from the kitchen.
That mother fucker. She thought, pressing her lips together, and giving him a dirty look, as he grinned triumphantly across the room.
"NO, Smartass! I don't want another plate!" She snapped.
Grinning brightly, he replied. "I wasn't being a smartass. You just seemed to like it so much, I thought I should be polite."
Trying her best, to look as serious, as possible, Alexis snapped. "I'mma beat you!"
Clint burst into laughter, and turned back toward the sink to rise the dishes off. Alexis quietly walked up behind him, and slapped him hard on the ass.
"Not funny young lady." He grumbled.
Leaning against the counter next to him, she began rubbing the cheek she just slapped. "But you got such a nice butt honey." She cooed, with a hint of baby talk.
"Mhmm..." He mumbled.
"If it makes you feel any better, I really liked my surprise." She continued.
"You haven't gotten your surprise yet." He stated.
"Oh... So, supper wasn't my surprise?" She asked, with a giant smile.
"It was part if it, but not the whole thing."
"What's the rest of it?" She beamed.
"Patients is a virtue, Kitten." He smiled.
He excused himself, to his room for a moment, and came back with something in his hand. Walking over to her, he slipped a blindfold over her eyes.
"What're you doin?" She asked, faking concern.
Leaning in, he whispered in her ear. "Hush Kitten, and do as you're told."
"Yes, Daddy." She replied, softly.
"Good girl."
He lead her to the truck, and helped her in. Alexis had no idea where he was taking her, but she could feel the truck as it bumped along, and hear the faint sound of a cooler slushing, over the Conway Twitty he had playing on the radio.
"Where are we goin?" She asked.
"You're not supposed to be talking, Kitten."
"Well... I could just take this thing off, and look."
"You could... But it would ruin the surprise, make me feel like the effort I put into planning this, was unappreciated, and disappoint me alot."
"Okay, okay, damn. I'll leave it on." She laughed.
"It's okay, we're here anyway."
Clint helped her out of the truck, and held her hand as he walked her around in circles to confuse her, before scooping her up and walking a few more steps. Alexis clung tightly to his neck, nervous he might try to be funny, and throw her in a creek, or something. She could feel him lift her up a bit, then ease her down on something soft, and silky. It felt like a really soft mattress, but she could tell it wasn't that. She crawled a little, and felt around a bit, and she thought she heard the springs on the truck squeak, but wasn't sure, because of the radio playing out the windows. The temperature, was nice out, and she was beginning to regret wearing her new sweater, no matter how good it looked on her. Between that, and the crickets singing, she knew they were still outside, but the puffy softness she was now sitting on had her stumped. She could hear him close by, but couldn't tell what he was doing, until he leaned in, and whispered to her, "Stand up for me, Sweetheart."
Her heart was nearly jumping out of her chest, when he began unbuttoningher sweater, and pulling it off her shoulders. She was scared, but excited, and she was loving it. The warm night air, and cool breeze felt amazing against her bare skin, and when she was fully naked, the silkyness of the material under her had her reeling. When he climbed up next to her, his weight caused the truck to squeak loudly, letting her know where she was, in a sense. She felt his hand on her stomach, as he eased her backwards to lay down. The heat from his naked body drew a stark contrast from the air around them, as they lay side by side.
"Do you want your surprise now, Kitten?" He asked, softly.
"Yes, Sir."
He lifted the blindfold from her face to reveal the star filled night sky. It was dark, the only light, coming from the moon, and stars above, and then she saw it...
"Look! A shooting star!" She smiled, happily.
Out if nowhere, there were hundreds of them, the sky was filled with the flashing whitish-blue streaks flying across the heavens.
"It's so pretty! Did you know it was gonna be like that?" She asked.
"I had already planned on doing something, but I was still trying to figure out what, when I heard about the meteor shower on the radio this morning."
"This is awesome! Thank you, so much!"
"It makes me very happy that you like it." He smiled.
"I do! I love this!" She cooed. "But I do have a couple of questions though."
"Like what?"
"What the hell are we laying on?" She laughed.
"Hay... with a silk comforter over it." He laughed, back. "I wanted it to be soft, and the comforter by itself wasn't working."
"Oh... hahahaha!" She giggled. "Well, it worked, but I had no idea what it was."
"What was the other question?" He asked.
"Why did we have to get neck-ed to look at the stars?" She asked, with a naughty grin.
"We didn't... I just love seeing you "neck-ed"!" He laughed, mocking her accent.
"Is that so?" She cooed.
"Well, that, and it will save us some time, when the meteor shower is over." He grinned, devilishly.
