ok i havent done it Yet but i plan on compiling a bunch of ben pics and loading them all in the queue to be a once a day thing. but until then id like to make a little introduction to our dear ben christo/the face behind our beloved ifrit ghoul! mainly because i already wrote something up somewhere else and i'd figure it'd be easy to just translate it all to one big tumblr post instead of doing school work. (update: it was fucking not) note: i have not listened to everything that he's ever done (and actually not a lot of this stuff) and i will miss some stuff but it's a start. if anyone wants to give stuff to put on this post i'd be more than happy to include it + i may update it as i learn more. ok cut incoming. warning for talk about unmasked ghouls if that's not your thing i guess. but also why are you here if its not.

okay so as we all know, ben christo is the face behind our beloved ifrit ghoul! but for those that don't: he played the touring lead guitarist for the band ghost in 2017! but this is all fairly surface level stuff, and i will not be going into much detail, if you want to look into it more just look at ritual footage from 2017. and if you're somehow not here from the ghost side of things hi. i'm sorry this is probably confusing, just ignore it. or dont and get into ghost bc ben played a ghoul in 2017. your choice

but with that out of the way, onto the real reason im making this post!

so for some basic info that everyone that knows anything about ben will know: he is the guitarist for sisters of mercy. i don't personally listen to this band, but i do know that another one of the ghouls, the face behind aether, chris catalyst, was also a guitarist for the band. ben has been the guitarist since 2006, and also i think backing vocals. diamond black: this one is a band i do listen to, he is one of the founding members, the lead vocalist and guitarist! used to just be on guitar, but the lead singer (jaakko turunen) recently stepped down and now ben is fronting it. this band also includes another ghoul! jan-vincent velazco (aka vinnie) was the earth right before mountain/hayden scott, and is the drummer for diamond black! they've been around since 2017. and, fun fact, at the time of writing this post they're going on tour in a month with esprit d'air (which vinnie is also the touring drummer for. doing double time). go get tickets if youre in the uk area!! gogogo!!! theyre cheap, only ~£25!!! next up is his work on raymond watt's PIG. from 2018-2019 he was a member of the band, going on tour (along side vinnie who was on drums) and even doing some riffs on the album risen (and the ep prey & obey). i haven't listened to these in particular, but i do like some of raymond's other work. AKO (pronounced A-K-O. dont make the mistake i did and pronounce it as a word): i listen to this one. i don't know a lot about it, though. from what i've read it was formed in 1998 and disbanded 2005, reuniting briefly in 2010. night by night: i know nothing about this band other than what i've read. it was founded by ben in 2008 and he plays lead guitar and does backing vocals! also i think vinnie mentioned being in the band at some point but i honestly cannot remember. last thing ill be mentioning here is his work on lord of the lost's 2021 album judas. he contributed lyrics, guitar, music and vocals for argent (lyrics and co-wrote music) and still life to die for (lyrics, melody, vocals and guitar). yeah of course! they're actually based off of a dream i had over a year ago now that started out as a nightmare. they both got me out of a situation where i was panicking and took me somewhere safe where paps looked after me until i woke up i actually don't have too much info on them as of right now but basically they are protectors of people within dreams. i'm gonna do designs for everyone else too (alphys first prob bc i actually have a name for her) as for other information ummmm i can tell you their forms are super flexible. being 'dream-based' so to say, they can change shape as needed in order to protect someone. it does take a lot of energy for them though. i've drawn Mello sort of doing this a little while ago.

their names are also based off things that remind me of sleep/are used to help sleep Mello (melatonin), Quill (tranquil) and Chamomile

Frisk Headcanons

So, to go completely off the rails from what I've been posting recently, here's a my best attempt at giving all the general headcanon info about my interpretation of Frisk in one post, which I'm probably gonna add onto in the future knowing me-- I'm gonna put all the actual written info under the cut because it's kinda long.

Also sidenote, I plan to make something like this for my Chara in the near future. Also, uh, expect me to randomly share more ut headcanons in general.

General Stuff

Their full name is Frisk Awa Dreemurr. 

Dreemurr is the third last name they've held, with Villarosa being the first and Solas being the second. 

They're 10 years old during the events of Undertale. 

Their height is 4' 2 (127 cm). 

Even as an adult they'd only end up around the 5' 2 (~158 cm) mark.

Their birthday is September 15th, 2105.

They are (amab) non-binary and use they/them pronouns.

Their clothing choice/tastes tend to be fairly mixed between typically masculine and feminine things, with a preference for more casual/messy looks and bright colours.

They're Panromantic-Ace, but also not particularly interested in that stuff yet.

They are primarily Filipino. Both parents were born in the Philippines but moved somewhere closer to (but not in) the Ebott area (unspecified geographical location at current because I haven't decided—) before Frisk was born.

Frisk's parents are still alive, but they have not yet met again and Frisk doesn't really remember them.

They are left-handed.

They're allergic to Temmies.

Frisk originally could only hear Chara, like a guiding voice in their mind. After making a certain deal, they could see Chara— and as a side effect, have a stronger sense about other ghosts and the like through being so closely connected to one.

They ate garbage on live TV (during the Mettaton EX battle) once, and Chara refuses to let them live it down.

They know how to make pre-packaged foods on their own, but don’t have much cooking knowledge outside of that.

They generally are not very picky about food, willing to try pretty much anything at least once.

However, their preferences lie more on savoury (and sometimes spicy) stuff, and they much prefer healthy/home cooked things. 

Their Determination stems from a desire for everyone to live and have a good life, although the idea of this is twisted during the events of... Certain timelines.

Despite having the "power to change fate", Frisk tries to only use it when they have to. They feel it would be wrong to manipulate it into getting whatever they wanted, however they have occasionally broken that rule.

Frisk being a quiet type comes in part from selective mutism. It generally shows up in times of stress, although since the events of Undertale they have less problems with it comparatively.

Their natural eye colour is red, but when using their SAVE powers they appear as a bright yellow/gold instead. 

They have a missing tooth from falling out of a tree.

They've got a saviour complex of sorts, feeling they will and must help everyone they can, even if that person doesn't want said help.

They don't fully understand the purpose of flirting, and generally do it to see how a person will react and see what that says about them. But sometimes it's just funny.

They particularly like frogs and bugs, but generally like most animals.

Their voice is something akin to Chloe in We Bare Bears (Charlyne Yi).

Pre-Undertale Backstory

Frisk was born in 2105, to parents that had only moved into the country recently. Their parents, Frederick Angelo Awa Villarosa and Iris Awa Villarosa, had hoped to raise the child themselves, but this didn’t go to plan. They fell into financial hardship a little while after Frisk was born, which was worsened by Fredrick falling particularly ill. The situation culminated in Frisk being put into foster care by 2108. They were bounced between temporary homes for a few years, until they were adopted in 2111 by Adalyn and Nadja Solas. A more stable living situation was a positive development for Frisk, and they grew close to their adoptive parents. This was all fine and good, until February of 2115 when a car crash left Frisk alone again. They were in the hospital for some time while recovering, after which they were placed into a temporary home in the Ebott area. It was not a smooth adjustment, with Frisk still grieving their loss and the new home feeling more distant than they’d grown accustomed to.

When they were left waiting at a bus stop on their 10th birthday– after some bullying to further incentivise not sticking around with their own thoughts, Frisk went off on their own to explore the woods surrounding Mt. Ebott. Perhaps just to clear their mind, or for something to do. By the time it began raining they were a little too far to turn back, so they ran deeper into the woods in hopes of reaching some kind of shelter. The mountainside cave they took refuge in had a deep pit within and, upon closer inspection, they ended up falling right into it. 

In the Underground

Frisk initially travelled the Underground peacefully, playing around with their ability to Load SAVE points as they went. They never really harmed anyone in these little experiments, especially since they only knew how to return to the most recent SAVE point, and their understanding of the ability was limited in general.

Over their journey, Frisk grew close to the friends they made in the Underground. These people filled a void they had been unable to reach since before that February night, even if they weren't replacements. Despite everything, they were happier than they had been in a while. But, they knew they had to return to the surface world. They couldn't let their new foster mother worry, no matter how happy they were. Besides, they couldn't really stay. Their SOUL was required to break the Barrier, and the way things were going, that could have caused another monster-human war.

Frisk jumped at the chance of an ending to the story where they could return home AND stay with the monsters, eventually achieving it thanks to Flowey's attempted plan. However, after the Barrier was destroyed... Something was missing. Their parents, that void, still persisted. Perhaps, with their newfound powers, they could find a way to save them too. To go back further than they had before. Like when Asriel said he would send it all back to square one, but farther. They would save their parents AND the Underground!

That day, Frisk learned the unfortunate truth. They could only turn back time so far. There was no way to save their parents. Just like Asriel himself. But, they refused to let it stop them so easily. They wracked their brain for an answer, and one arrived. Another power spoken of before. LOVE. If they... Hurt people, maybe they could be stronger. Strong enough to go back. Refusing to give up on the chance, they risked putting aside all they held dear. Unfortunately for them, this path did not lead the direction they had intended whatsoever.

After all had turned to dust, they and Chara were the only ones that remained. A conversation was had, an irrefusable deal was made, and Frisk was sent back to the beginning. It was all for nothing. They killed them all. For nothing. Devastated, Frisk did their best to save the Underground again. It seemed some people— like Asriel and their parents— were beyond saving. They didn't want to accept that, but had no other choice.

Of course, we already know good things don't last forever. This second attempt at pacifism lasted only a little longer than the first. They were plagued by thoughts and dreams of their actions, unable to forget that feeling of holding lives in your hands. To decide someone else's fate. To play God. As much as Frisk feared it and loathed it, a part of them missed it. So in the anger and frustration and fear of it all, they undid everything again. As if repeating the past would somehow make it better.

That second time around, while they sat in that void waiting for Chara to reappear, the gravity of it all finally hit them. They were gonna get stuck in a cycle of this, and for what? This wasn't right, they didn't want to hurt everyone they cared about. They just wanted everyone to be happy, how did it get to this point? After Chara gave another speech and the world was restored, Frisk made a vow to never hurt anyone like that again. It didn't matter what happened, that wasn't right. No one else deserved to get hurt.

Post-Undertale

When they finally moved on and allowed the timeline to continue forwards, Frisk accepted the offer to become the human-monster ambassador and chose to live with Toriel. However, Papyrus took the role of the proper ambassador, and became his assistant. Learning and helping with what they could, hoping to one day become the new ambassador.

Once monsters were starting to settle in on the surface and things were going a little smoother, Frisk returned to the Underground and brought Flowey to the surface with them– on the condition that they didn’t tell anyone about his connection to Asriel. Shortly after this, they, uh, worked out some things with Chara regarding previous actions and a certain deal.

Eventually they’d probably get a chance to meet their bio parents, but I haven’t figured out if/when this might happen.

Personality

Generally speaking, Frisk comes off as a quiet but friendly and well-meaning kid, very eager to be of help and a pretty good listener. They can be a bit much, though, often trying to help even when they aren't needed, and don't necessarily have a clear idea of good boundaries all the time.

Despite their helpful nature, they're pretty stubborn about stuff once their mind is set on it, and can be hard-pressed to admit that maybe something is not such a great idea after all. Their determination is useful when it comes to making sure they do whatever it is they set their mind on, but there are certainly cases where this isn't great.

They're usually pretty trusting— perhaps a little naïve though not completely, despite times this has been taken advantage of. They always want to believe the best in people, being generally optimistic and quick to forgive. There are limits, but those aren't often displayed.

Frisk does not like to hurt people, and takes their self-vow not to kill anyone else pretty seriously. It would take some very serious circumstances to break that. However, if a situation called for it, they would still willingly fight back to save themself or people around them. Just, if they can find non-violent options, they will.

They're also surprisingly brave, bordering on reckless at times. They weren't always as much so— it's something they got better at over their journey through the Underground— but a spark of it was always there. This can show up in more positive ways like when they were willing to fight Omega Flowey despite how much he scared them, as well as not so great ways, like wandering off on their own to explore the woods.

In fact, as a sub point about the bravery stuff, Frisk is very curious and adventurous. They love exploring and seeing new stuff, and are usually pretty willing to try new things. They're also fairly capable of being independent and self-sufficient, for someone their age.

If I were to rank how much of each SOUL trait Frisk has, it would be something like:

Alright now that its officially Forzen Friday let's try this post again since it didn't show up in the tags last time-

I'M FINALLY MAKING A FORZEN HC DUMP (kinda AU-ish territory but not really idk exactly) AND NONE OF YOU CAN STOP ME

There are also a few other hcs sprinkled in here related to other characters (like Darnold and Sunkist for example) but Forzen is the main focus!! Despite him being a minor character I latched onto him and fleshed him out sm yall have no idea

Everything under the cut bc this shit is gonna be LONG (and there's also some more doodles that take up a bit of space!)

Also uhh if people like this I might take one for another hlvrai character later bc I have a lot to say about everyone!!

Forzen moved from France to the US with his parents when he was around 12 or 13 (yes, I'm aware that Scorpy and Holly are French Canadian and not France French but that doesn't mean Forzen can't be, I'm just being sure to say this now before someone says something to me about it)

He wanted to go to college and eventually become a game dev, but he didn't have the funds or the support for it (his family thought anything to do with games would amount to a career that would go nowhere).

Because of this, he instead was recruited in the US military. He originally had no intent to join, but after constantly being harrassed recommended to join and being entertained with the concept of being able to afford and pay for college, he caved (hence him telling the science team that his only goal is "to graduate").

He doesn't like his job very much if that wasn't clear.

And neither do most others that have the same job like him.

He was put on a "team" of his own, Team Nice, which was likely arranged as a guaranteed way to get Forzen in the way of danger, and with no one else fighting beside him, he would be easily dealt with- no one would have to worry about him bothering them again. However, he somehow manages to survive all of this, of course. Somehow. He likely knows the real reason he was assigned his own team (if you can even call it that), but refuses to fully acknowledge it for his own sanity, and instead pretends that he's some big, important person on a team that ranks so highly, he's the only one qualified to be in it. (I apologize ahead of time for giving one of the most shitposty and throwaway characters in hlvrai this much depth and angst, there was just potential there leave me alone)

Fast forward to the actual events of hlvrai though. This hc is a little outlandish but I really like the concept!!! So, at one point, Forzen is killed, presumably by some kind of creature that was out and about due to the RenCas. The science team + Benrey stumble across him (act 2 part 2 at around 13 min in for anyone curious), and Benrey decides to use the healing beam Sweet Voice on him. While Benrey and Forzen may not be on good terms anymore, Benrey still very begrudgingly cares about him and didn't want to see him get injured or die. Forzen wakes up a minute or so after the science team exits the room, assuming that he just passed out, nothing more, and goes along with things as normal.

He meets Darnold a while after his first (concious) run in with the science team. Darnold has recently dealt with the science team and helped them out, but is pretty bummed that he couldn't travel with them, as everything was far too scary and dangerous for him. Forzen, wanting to escape Black Mesa and the military altogether, ends up making a deal with him that he'll handle all the dangerous stuff if Darnold can show him a way out.

Now, meeting Darnold is a very new experience for him, since Darnold actually enjoys his company, and actually wants to befriend him! At first, Forzen openly tries to act as if Darnold is a huge deal to put up with- he goes along with with the whole "if you're escaping outta this hellhole with me, you better keep up" kinda deal (despite the fact that he kinda NEEDS Darnold to escape and show him the way out). His walls are still very much so raised, and he doesn't let his guard down as he's not used to others caring about him and his safety. But as time passes, he begins to realize that maybe Darnold DOES want to be his friend, and the tough guy act becomes less apparent.

To preface this next one- Sunkist sensed that something was up (he has a next-level sense of danger when it comes to Tommy's safety) and got to BM as fast as he could, searching every hallway for his boy. This is when Forzen finds him!! He figures that taking Sunkist as a hostage would be enough to get extra info out of the team that's been practically plaguing him lately.

Darnold doesn't know about Forzen's plans to take Sunkist hostage, so is completely fine with traveling alongside him. At one point though, Forzen and Darnold get separated (Forzen occupies him, makes sure hes safe and then runs off to deal with Sunkist). Darnold immediately uses his surroundings to model a quick little teleporter device to get Forzen back, because, you know, the man's a genius. Idc if its logical or not just go with it shhh I've gotta fill in the plotholes with something. That's why Forzen disappears all of a sudden after he's cornered by the science team. He just pops back in front of Darnold suddenly, all confused and loopy from the whole teleportation thing.

As things begin to wind down, Darnold and Forzen make it out of BM and start making a break for it, no idea how they'll get away from BM and to safety somewhere- they didnt really think things through.

Fortunately (or unfortunately for Forzen really), however, G-man picks both of them up. He means to drop Darnold off at Tommy's party, as he observed that Darnold helped his son to safety and is grateful for it. Forzen, though, he intends to "deal with" for messing things up so badly with Tommy, Sunkist, and all of Tommy's friends. This is where Darnold finds out about everything Forzen did and frankly gets really pissed with him since he thought he only had good intentions??? Luckily though, Darnold convinces G-man to give him a second chance, let him go to Tommy's party and apologize, and try things again. G-man, for some reasons agrees- probably bc hes in a good mood, as it IS his son's birthday.

The party is pretty uncomfortable to say the least. Tommy's extremely hesitant to talk to Forzen, but he does, and they end up on neutral terms by the end of it. Uneasy, but neutral. Tommy and Darnold hit it off though, and Tommy opens the invitation to Darnold that he can visit his place anytime now that everything at BM is over with.

As everyone's getting ready to leave, Forzen mentions to Darnold that he doesn't have a place to stay, seeing as the entire military was kinda. Yknow. Wiped out. Obviously wouldn't wanna go back to check anyways. And he has no interest in going home to his parents. So Darnold agrees to let him stay with him since they've become good pals over the course of everything.

Over time, Darnold visits Tommy more and more often. He starts bringing Forzen along, which Tommy is iffy of at first, but their dynamic starts to change and become more comfortable once Tommy sees that Forzen isnt interested in being enemies anymore.

Sunkist and Forzen still don't get along for a very long time. Or, well- it's moreso that Sunkist is very wary about Forzen, despite him not doing anything to harm either Sunkist or Tommy.

Oh yeah and almost forgot to mention one of my favorite hcs (that I PROMISE you started out as a joke but then I got attached) is Sunkist can talk!! So his first spoken interaction with Forzen after Forzen comes over to visit for the first time is literally just him being all threatening and laying down the ground rules bc he doesn't want Forzen to hurt Tommy at all in any way. And of course Forzen about has a heart attack bc "HUH??????? THERE'S A DOG THAT IS SPEAKING HUMAN WORDS TO ME"

UHH I HAVE MORE (I've written out so much shit about dynamics and what I'd think would happen even after all of this) BUT I DON'T WANT THIS TO BE TOO LONG like it already is SO I SUPPOSE I'LL LEAVE IT AT THAT FOR NOW!!!!
