“Oh!” Catching her bottom lip with her teeth, Ella observes him from between her lashes, fighting back a shiver at his touch. All night long she had been fighting this battle, losing more often than not; every brush of the fingers, every time he rested his hands on her back, made her heart pound against her ribcage, leaving her shaking and craving more. There. Breathing deeply, she echoes back the word, stomach filling with butterflies when he pulls her closer, still kneeling at her feet. Simple country girl can’t quite believe what is happening. Her charming apprentice from the woods was the prince, and he was even more charming and captivating than before.
Deprived of all human comfort, she now craved it with a burning passion. Not from anyone, just from him. As he asked her who she really was, all she could think about was how she never wanted this night to end, that they could always be this close. Won’t you tell me your name? Instead of answering, moved by a force stronger than anything she had felt before (even the magic that had brought her here today) Ella bent down and met his lips in a soft kiss that filled her with warmth,  fingers slipping from the swing to clutch at him and hold him closer.

“Mr Goose!” the exclamation comes a second too late, the goose has set his sights on a target and only a miracle will stop from attacking the poor girl. “Climb on the tree! Hurry!” she yells over the flapping wings and honking sound. “He cannot fly!”

“Dancing?” Blue eyes glimmered with excitement as she accepted Chloe’s hand. “You didn’t say anything about dancing!” It had already been such a lovely night: a three course dinner where every bite was more delicious than the next, a walk in a nearby park, and of course, stolen kisses lit by moonlight.
There was just one little problem, though. “I don’t know how to dance... Not anymore.” Of course her only knowledge of modern dancing came from Poppy and Dirty Dancing, still... things had changed a lot.
