@kweenkatsuki-fics this post this is to answer your question about the flowers in the tags on the proposal post! And perhaps give a little insight on me as well :3.

Ichigo got and put those flowers on the sides of that letter both because he simply knew I liked them but also because they have a meaning too! One I taught him about uwu.

Water lilies and lotuses are technically different flowers, but they are essentially the same to me (at least aesthetic wise) uwu. And both have very similar meanings. They are my favorite flowers 🪷🩷 (like how you love sunflowers! 🌻🤎).

Water lilies are often associated with birth and resurrection, purity and majesty, and enlightenment

Lotuses, similarly, symbolize rebirth and purity, with the added meaning of overcoming adversity

As far as lotuses go specifically, I heard something from an art therapist I used to watch a lot (cus i wanted to and perhaps still do want to be one, one day). She learned it from someone else too ofc. But the saying is "No mud, no lotus".

Based on how lotuses (and water lilies) push up out of the mud to bloom into their pretty selves. The adage meant to remind one that you cannot grow into something more beautiful or just more in general without going through something hard that might teach you things.

Idk the idea of rebirth in general is just something so close to me because i am always wanting to grow and evolve into a better version of myself. I want to experience a rebirth of sorts in my body, my character, my style, my intellect and more many many times. Get comfortable with the idea of change so it isn't always as scary when it counts. Its why I want my first tattoo to be an ankh on top of a lotus/waterlily 🫶🏾. Just something really simple n relatively small.

Anyways back to the proposal. Like I said, Ichi got those flowers because he knew I like them. But I think deep down he also wants them to represent two things.

What he feels I've done as his partner and love so far. He feels I've changed him for the better; made him a new man. He feels like his life is different with me; he thinks differently. And perhaps he thinks me to be majestic too~ <3.

What he wants for our relationship to be going forward. He wants our love to be pure and true, and something only we share with one another. He wants us to continue discovering new things about one another and to grow/evolve together (as individuals and when we come together as a couple uwu). And most importantly he wants us to come out of hard times stronger :,))).

It was a normal day, tbh. No fancy dinner, no pretty views, no bath with roses, no going out for a date or anything.

We had just gotten back from a fantastic week of traveling owo. All the views, wonderful food, and experiencing new things with him happened then :3. In fact, the whole trip was something he surprised me with!

On this day, we were resting to recoup. Absolutely chilling without much plans to go outside. We are just being cozy comfy and spending time doing mundane things. Watching TV, playing games, perhaps ordering in, wearing pajamas and all uwu.

I start binging a show I really like and he's watching with me. At some point Ichi gets eepy. Says he's gonna go take a nap in our room. He knows I'm really into this show now, so he tells me to keep watching and that he can always catch up later. I ask him if he's sure and he insists, so I do. I'm there for the next few hours watching while he sets his plan in motion in the bedroom.

After finishing the first season of this show, I'm getting up from the couch, stretching and going to the kitchen for a drink and to get out some condiments. I had ordered our dinner to be delivered a little while ago. And it should be here soon.

This is when Ichi calls me from our room. I call back and he says he needs me in there for a sec.

I open our door and peek in and don't see him, before fully coming in and looking around with a "where are you?"

And then my eyes fall on the bulletin board/calendar above our desk. Attached to it are a bunch of candid photos of me from our trip that I never even knew he took. They were all beautiful, and it had my heart swelling. There's a sticky note in the middle of them that reads "down here sunshine" (sunshine being his main pet name for me) with an arrow pointing down to the desk.

And following that arrow down I see an envelope with a pink wax seal of a cherry blossom. It's sitting between two (fake) water lillies, and there's a few chocolates strewn about.

Slowly I take the letter and open it, tears springing in my eyes already after the first few lines. By the end of the most heartfelt letter I had ever read, detailing everything he loved about me and how much I had changed his life, I was a sniffling wet cheeked mess.

I set the letter down and turn around to look for him, seeing him leaning against the doorway to our en suite bathroom (where he was hiding when I came in).

He smiles softly when he sees the way I look at him.

I can't help but ask in the tiniest voice if he really meant all that in the letter.

And his smile grows with a bit of a knowing chuckle as he makes his way toward me, telling me of course he does.

He comes and holds my hands and tells me I'm everything to him.

"And there's something else..."

He lets go and takes a step back before kneeling on one knee before my very eyes and I am releasing the sobs I was holding in as I read that letter with an "Oh my god."

He tells me he really is his happiest with me and that he couldn't imagine a life going forward without me before pulling out the black box and opening it to showcase this ring:

"Would you do me the honor of being my wife? Will you marry me?"

And of course I am absolutely saying yes with my whole DDD chest, snotty nosed and all lol.

He puts the ring on me then we are embracing.

And after I've calmed down a little and have gotten cleaned up, he also lets me know he ordered us dessert too, to celebrate. One of these strawberry pizzas (I've heard they're so good from a place nearby irl but haven't gotten a chance to try one yet rip).

Seeing it once it was delivered almost had me crying again <3333333

He is truly the best man, lover, fiancé, and hubby ever 🥺🩷🩷🩷🩷

And he showed me that again when we made love that night 🫶🏾.

in the main ichidere verse what are your favourite date spots? has he ever taken you to soul society?

In the main ichidere verse, Ichi and I go to a lot of cafes with animals :3. Cat cafes, dog cafes, hedgehog cafes, cafes with aquariums inside and such uwu. I just find getting to interact with the cute and pretty animals so nice and soothing and of course getting to have some sweet snacks and drinks along the way doesn’t hurt! Also just different kinds of cafes in general. Gaming cafes, maid cafes, brand themed cafes like Nintendo or Sanrio. In general just cozy spaces that you can explore and be surrounded by different fun or silly stuff owo. Those dates are ones usually planned by me.

Ichigo tends to like planning dates where we do more walking around and enjoying scenery (inside and outside). Dates planned by him are usually like walking the night market and getting street food, visiting public gardens, walking around the mall or other stores I’ve expressed interest in going to (sometimes includes a little traveling), big museums, going to the park or a zoo, etc. Normally we also go out to eat somewhere along the way too. As often as possible we try to go to new places on our little journey and try more yummy foods out there :)))).

I’ve met plenty of his friends from Soul Society but have never been there myself. The most I’ve seen is the shoji that appears indicating the passage there. Ichigo’s offered to take me, but I always chicken out because I’ve heard stories about the dangai precipice world in between the World of the Living and the Soul Society. The thought of having to run through that always scares the shit outta me lol. He tells me he can carry me through it if I want, but I haven’t let it happen yet. One day I will be brave and go there! Until then though, I will simply admire the hell butterflies that sometimes come out when Ichigo leaves to go there (after hugging and kissing him goodbye ofc <3). Sometimes they like to dance around me and follow me around. I like playing with them until they disappear. It makes me feel warm inside. Like a good omen. At least that’s the way I like to perceive it. Like whatever Ichigo is going to do will go well :3.

okay so like, of course, we're currently coming to the end of the first semester of our final year and Byakkun and I are both starting to become swamped with end-of-term papers, projects etc and preparations for the next semester.

we're seeing each other a little less then normal but still manage to check in via texts and brief moments on campus/the odd date. But it's at times like this that I tend to need to draw on other's support more, to avoid overthinking etc.

I know Byakkun is busy so I try not to bother him more than usual (even though he's of the 'it's unfair that we laughed together but you cried alone' type beat)

and one time when you and I are hanging out, I confess that I miss him and feel bad that work is so all-consuming but I don't want to be so demanding when we're at such a critical point

I’ve noticed as of late how preoccupied you’ve been. Not necessarily distant, but just swamped.

Admittedly, I had been a little worried about you. Every time i checked on you, you seemed to be working on things. I had wondered if you were even getting any rest. I couldn’t wait for a rest period to come any faster for you, truly.

I feel the way you shiver in my arms, eyes beginning to shine with tears. I’m trying to reassure you with quiet murmurs.

“I’m sorry life is bringing you so much stress right now. Even more so, I feel bad it’s keeping you and your love apart. But I’m more than sure he misses you just as much as you miss him, if not more. I know you worry about being a bother, but I think you should tell him how you feel.”

I’m sure I didn’t know him to the extent you or Ichigo did, but I know Byakkun is considerate enough to do what he can for you regardless of the struggles along the way. I know that he would never see your presence as an intrusion. I try to remind you that you are not a burden adding to his workload. You are the love of his life. And that it’s already in his heart to wanna be there for you when you need him.

But he has to know you need him in order for him to be there :(((( <3.

Byakuya, similar to you has been working in over time. Not only on his grad work, but also for his little class he teaches, and for the tasks he does when working with the organization in charge of Ichigo’s internship. When the two guys work together, Ichigo takes note of how… frazzled Byakkkun has been. And he makes it a point to keep checking in with him to make sure he’s okay.

At some point, when Ichi and Byakkun get some downtime, Byakuya straight up tells Ichigo he feels like he is losing his mind hardly being able to see you amongst all this chaos. But he knows you have enough on your plate. That your academic crazies are probably going extra hard without trying to fit him in between constant study sessions, revisions, exams, meetings with professors.

And Ichigo tells him something similar to what I tell you. But still, thought Byakkun knows he’s right, his brain is so fried he feels like he doesn’t know how to go about rectifying this. So Ichigo tells him that he’s gonna help him figure it out. He grabs a piece of paper and a pen, gives it to Byakuya, asks for his schedule. When he’s in class, when he’s studying, when he’s working on his thesis, when he’s eating, everything. And once Ichi has this information he is texting me.

We begin to make plans to help y’all out, so you don’t have to think about anything. You can save all your energy to your academic pursuits and we can handle all the rest.

Essentially Ichi and I work together to schedule events in which y’all can spend time together simply vibing. Taking little tidbits from conversations wit you both and brainstorming ideas to fulfill those needs in a way that brings both your brains back down to earth.

You mention one day you wish you had something to warm you up as you chug water to keep yourself working diligently. The next day after you’re out of class for the day, I’m picking you up and dropping you off at a small lounge somewhere on campus. Inside awaits a cozy atmosphere with fairy lights, blankets, and your choice of coffee and hot cocoa. There’s a projector set up to watch whatever you please for the next few hours and Byakuya is already there waiting.

Byakuya murmurs to himself about getting some fresh air while scribbling down notes for something. Ichigo is texting me about places with nature you two can go to. Byakkun’s next day is packed, but the day after that is when Ichigo grabs Byakkun and drives him somewhere toward the edge of town. Waiting by a booth nearby where he’s dropped off it me and you.

Ichi and I paid for your fair to walk this trail filled with flowers, lush trees, a bridge overlooking a small pond with koi, zen gardens, and fresh fruit from stands at certain stopping points. Once you two are together and told what’s up I hop in the car with Ichi and leave y’all to it. We come to get you when you message us you’re ready to go.

Y’all have helped us so much, so we’re more than happy to help shape more self care and quality time with your partner into your hectic and almost impossible seeming schedule. We are also making sure y’all are getting your meals in and getting your rest and all the like. We live in a nice house in Japan with a gate in the front. It's a large one story abode with a pretty garden. It is quite licherally this house, but i hate the front of that house so we're gonna pretend the outside looks like the one below.

To be honest I never really thought about this one before 👀. But i think it would be nice to have at least one owo. And y'know what our pet would be??? A HEDGEHOG. Specifically an African Pygmy Hedgehog (the ones people have as pets!). THEY ARE MY FAVORITE LITTLE GUYS EVER!! 🥺🦔

(if i could have one as a pet irl i SO would, but it is not allowed in my state RIP).

I'd say we come pretty close to cooking the same amount! But I think I cook just sliiiiightly more. Also I do some baking, which he doesn't tend to do owo.

But I like the idea of us spending time in the kitchen together <3

Like maybe sometimes he'll help me bake or we both experiment when making a meal together.

I also also looooove the idea of him teaching me how to make more Japanese or Asian foods! Since, coming from America, I of course grew up making more western foods and Americanized Asian foods.

AUGH imagining his first time trying so many of the foods I love. Like Black soul foods I grew up eating 🥺. And he just loves them so much. So when the seasons are right we work together to go hunting for the needed ingredients which aren't as easy to come by in Japan 🥺🥺🥺.

Also idk about his spice tolerance but uuuuhhh... If it ain't too great we're gonna have to get them numbers up 👀👀👀👀👀 LMAO little by little uwu

Who cleans more?

We both clean, but I feel like I take care of the smaller things and let Ichigo take care of the bigger things if that makes sense?

Like I keep our kitchen pretty clean. There are never dishes in the sink on my watch. And I'm always wiping down the counters n table after someone eats. I also wipe down our sinks and mirrors in the bathroom with each use. Vacuum rooms in the house every once in a while.

I know how to clean the showers and toilets, but I tend to procrastinate on it bc its so much WORK, so Ichi usually takes care of it. Sweeping and mopping the whole house is something we do together, but because it's also so big a task I typically kinda avoid doing it for long periods. So Ichigo usually has to initiate it.

We both take care of the garbage, but most times I am gathering everything inside that needs to be taken out then Ichi is the one to bring it outside (bc i am a somewhat a germaphobe hELP).

As far as laundry, Ichi washes his clothes more often and I wash the bedsheets more often. A bitch will procrastinate the hell out of washing and putting away her own clothes AUGH. So Ichi makes it an activity we do together so it isn't as painful enourhnuiohbneiokr.

hi twy!!! i wanted to come and actually ask too instead of just putting it in the tags - has ichigo ever shared his thought process around proposing with you? was he nervous? confident you’d say yes immediately? or did he just know it was right and of course was proven right?

Hello my darling Kendy!! :3 (i saw u ask in the tags on that post about what the other ring looked like uwu. if u missed it, it is in this post <3.)

He's talked about it with me a few times uwu.

He had been planning it for a few months ahead of the trip we took. In those beginning stages, he was very nervous about it. Simply seeing a ring on someone else's finger would get his heart to beating and sometimes a drop of sweat would form on his temple. He told me at that time his feelings had just built up so much. Like literally he felt he loved me so much he didn't know what to do. I was always on his mind. He'd start smiling out of nowhere. He'd picture me in all these pretty dresses (not necessarily wedding ones). Like he knew eventually wanted to marry me, but he didn't realize that his senses were telling him he was ready right then until Renji brought it up one day. And Renji had told me once that Ichi's expression was priceless lol. Red faced, wide eyed, jaw on the floor as realization hit. In Renji's words, Dumbly murmuring "Holy shit, I wanna marry her..."

That day bro made himself a separate email account specifically for ring hunting so he could keep everything in one place, and not risk me finding out anything lol.

It did take him a while to find what he thought was the perfect one, sneakily getting my opinions on jewelry and such along the way; me none the wiser. He had known I didn't want your regular degular diamond ring, but had to figure out more past that using what he knew about me and my tastes in general. Once he had narrowed some options and parameters down is when he started trying to get more out of me lmao.

The closer he got to proposing, the less nervous he was about it. He had settled into a calm, but he was never completely confident. There were always butterflies in his stomach.

Not to say he didn't have a good feeling that I would say yes, but he just wanted to keep all options open and be emotionally prepared for whatever, y'know?

He told me that any sense of fear or doubt left him when I came into our room looking for him the day he proposed. From that moment on, somehow, some way, he had already known I was his wife. (Though, he was still really relieved when i actually said yes lol)

Every day after he proposed for like a month, he would find me at some point in the day kissing the ring. Either when I first woke up, before I went to bed, or sometime in between. N he told me seeing that made him the proudest and happiest man alive. Sometimes it even brought tears to his eyes :,)))).

So knowing these things, he conspired to get me these babies ⤵️

Not only are they super cute (how i love sanrio and pastel colors <3), but their purpose is so so special. They are for holding those sentimental papers and moments that remind me I am loved and that I have so much love to give others.

He took me out on a date night. We went somewhere pretty, then somewhere we could get pampered together, and then we went to have dinner :3. When we came back was when I was surprised with them all sitting together on my bookshelf.

He knew I would like the designs on them, and he knew in general I was trying to get more organized so he thought they would be a good gift (he was right uwu). And he had realized only after they'd been shipped that maybe I could use them instead of that chest and that photo storage box I had been using and meaning to put together.

The blue one I decided I would use to store all the old birthday cards, letters, and other things I already have from people I'm related to or I've known in person.

The pink one I decided to use for sweet messages from friends online. Either i print them or write them out and include where to access them digitally uwu. Not only do I use it for messages from others to me, but also for messages I've sent to others and how happy it made me to see it made them happy if/when they responded :)))).

The yellow one is exceedingly precious to me 🥹. This one had him blushing as he asked if I could save that one, just for him. This one he fills alone, with thoughts, love letters, poems, affirmations, pictures he gets developed, or just other little things or small gifts he thinks I would like 🧡🧡🧡. The bottom drawer is where I put the shorter, more casual things. Stuff he loves about me, how good i looked in an outfit on a particular day, letting me know how happy i made him by doing something simple, etc. The pictures also go there. The middle drawer is where the more in depth things like love letters, poems, and the like go. The top drawer is like a little inbox! He puts all the new stuff for me there :3. So when something is there I know I'm in for something lovely from my one and only 🧎🏾‍♀️💓💓💓. And once I go through it i put it in the appropriate drawer or elsewhere if its a small gift.

On that night, after he'd asked to save the yellow one, he let me know there were already a few things waiting for me in it. I melted on the spot. He kissed my forehead before telling me he was going in the other room to give me some time to read them.

The way this man's written word had me absolutely SOBBING to myself 😭😭😭💖. I had to go hug him immediately after reading, still crying.

We cuddled tenderly for the next hour or two. And after, he would make the sweetest love to me. I could feel him pouring his heart into every touch. I was trembling at orgasm, and I once again cried after we were done lol. He was so gentle with me, my word 😪 <33333.

And why it all means even more to me? It wasn't even like our anniversary or anything!! No special holiday, no nothing! It was just a regular night that he decided to shower me with so much intimacy, affection, and care :((((((. He is the love of my life forevermore 💜💜💜💜💜.

Thank you, my love 🥺. I’ve been doing my best; having good days and bad ones. It’s hard to believe in yourself at times or to give yourself the grace you deserve. But having Ichigo by my side has definitely helped me to cope during those hard times <3. He doesn’t know just how much I appreciate him and how happy I am to have him. Or maybe he does? Cus I am very physically affectionate in general.

AUGH and college is rough for real. There’s so much to do and so much expected of you and the pressure of what to do with your future is always there. Not to mention the bad vibes it can cause when you start measuring yourself to others and how put together they seem compared to you. Or the financial burden. It can be so so stressful.

I’ve enjoyed this reprieve from that experience since graduating earlier this year, but I do dread having to go back for my master’s rip.

Being that you face those things now, I want you to know you as well are doing so so wonderfully and that I am so so proud of you. You push yourself and you work hard every day, even if you may feel you don’t always do your best work. The looming presence of your study is always on your mind and having to carry that weight is hard. Remember no matter how dramatic you may feel, your struggle is real. And you are so strong and so precious for pushing through it and finding the time to smile while reaching for your goal 💜💜💜.

Byakuya is incredibly proud to stand by you and watch as you grow through this time. He is blown away by the sheer amount of effort you put into this endeavor. Even when the academic crazies hit, he is happy to step in and slow your thoughts down. To offer you a special warmth that can only come from him as he reminds you just how well you are actually doing. I like to think that after that time he was kind enough to help me look for you when I was lost, I just couldn’t stop thinking about him. I could be doing just the most mundane thing and he will pop into my head. Even more so than before when I was simply crushing from afar.

I will be brushing my teeth and his voice will pop into my head and then I’ll accidentally make myself gag. I will be filling my car up with gas and start thinking about how he walked me off campus after I gave you your thing, and then I will have spent a little more money than intended when i come to and look at the little screen on the pump. Casually eating lunch and thinking about how stronk his arm looked when he raised it to scratch the back of his head and I bite my tongue about it and sob cus OW MY TONGUE.

Like I have only experienced the man for at most a couple hours that one day but I am an entire mess lmao.

Quite licherally spinning him around on a rotisserie in my brain and I cannot control it.

AUGH and when you let me know and you Byakuya have noticed my fondness for him I am lowkey bashful when I’m with you guys going around campus. Cus I feel like y’all are always looking and me and wondering if I am looking to see Ichigo (which I might be sometimes, but y’all don’t have to know!!).

Now I am just casually hanging around the school even though I haven’t started attending yet. But! With you and Byakkun’s help I have started the process of applying. Because it’s a little late, I’m unsure if I’ll make it in but my fingers are crossed! Ichigo also thinks about our first time meeting from time to time, though nowhere near as much as me since he actually has stuff to focus on with his internship and prepping for his first grad year starting soon.

One time he’s working with Byakuya on something. And it’s on something a little more to do with your expertise. As you’re drafting up a little paper to help Byakuya you realize because of my Psych degree I might be able to help with a part you’re a little unsure about. We were hanging out at your house at the time having a little sleepover, so I was also able to write some notes of my own on the sheet.

Byakuya brought it with for the project. Ichi knows Byakuya’s handwriting, so he figures he didn’t write this reference page they were both looking at from time to time. He asks who did, to be told that the purple ink is in your handwriting, and that the pink ink is mine.

Byakkun goes back to working but Ichigo is looking at the paper for a moment, blinking to himself. When Byakkun steps away, Ichi is lightly stroking places where my handwriting is. He thought my writing was pretty…

Lmao also thinking about if something goes wrong with Ichi’s car, so you end up volunteering me as his ride and i wanna KILL U CUS HOW COULD U DO THIS TO ME!! IM NOT MENTALLY PREPARED FOR THIS PLS 😭. At first it’s a lot of the three of us (me, you, n Ichi in the back). But then you start making moves. Insisting Ichi sits in the front with me (“Oh I just need to go through my bag and it might get messy!”). And then eventually you just yeet all together and start getting rides with Byakuya, leaving me ALONE. And you’re smirking about it but I am a WRECK cus I’m so silly about him HELP. This point is when he and I exchange numbers since we no longer have you as a middle person.
