saw robert icke’s hamlet with alex lawther and i am not the same person i was before
#so so many thoughts on this production i can’t even begin to start#most heartbreaking and beautiful thing ive ever seen i was crying on the train home#alex lawther’s hamlet is so vulnerable that it hurts to watch him change as the narrarive progresses#icke did a wonderful job of involving the audience and making us susceptible#this production touches a lot on the issue of modern surveillance so the audience being drawn in helps greatly#house lights came on very dimly whenever hamlet had a soliloquy as an example of this#and many of the characters come on from the house during their entrances and exits rather than the stage itself#i have so many more thoughts on this beautiful production i’ll have to compile them somewhere#hamlet#william shakespeare#robert icke#alex lawther
