Human+

I've kinda seen a couple people use this term casually, but afaik there's no actual definition or symbols or anything. I really identify with it, so I figured I'd make some!

Human plus is an alterhuman identity where one is human as well as something else, or human but also more than human somehow, or anything along those lines. Basically, it's when one is human, but that's not all.

The definition is loose on purpose. There's no wrong way to identify with this term; I don't like gatekeeping, and I didn't even invent the term, so it'd be kinda silly to tell people how they can use it.

For me, that means I'm human plus cat, since I'm dualspecies. Human is my primary species identity, but it's not all I am.

The symbol I came up with is pretty simple: just a human palm with a plus sign cut out of it. It's 100% free to use; credit is appreciated but not required, as long as you don't claim you made it. You're also free to change it, or remake it if you can do better than me, as long as, again, you don't take credit for the original design/idea.

Really sad how many people have to be lowkey about being alterhuman on main. Including me, I do that too! When the same mutuals who talk about how cringe culture is dead reblog a post making fun of fictionkin and calling it a “weird tumblr thing” you just don’t have to energy to singlehandedly educate them, and instead have to mentally note to never mention it around them. And it sucks.

Honestly, letting my alterhuman identity be voluntary in some ways is really freeing. I can actively add to it and cultivate it, instead of just sitting back and hoping it grows. If I wanna have a bunch of subtypes of cat that I am, I can do that. I can create sonas that aren’t just a representation of me, but also literally me. I can be like fifteen different cats at once. It can be messy and that’s fine.

I hate having a kintype that’s so infantilized. I’m a cat, that doesn’t mean I want to be treated like a kid, it doesn’t mean I have to be sfw all the time, it doesn’t mean I want to be all pastel and cutesy. Honestly that’s why I’ve kinda been leaning into the punk side of my personality here lately. I’m sick of the only people interacting with me being age regression blogs or whatever. Sick, great for you, but I can be a cat in a silly way without being a fucking baby. That’s how I know this isn’t 100% voluntary, cuz if it was, I would have gone with a different animal who doesn’t get treated like that.

The feeling I get when I see people with different kintypes is the same as when I see transfemmes as a transmasc. Like “this but opposite” except it’s closer to “this but completely different”. Sick species bro! It’s NOT for me but I’m giving you an aggressive thumbs up!
