A bit of a rant. You've been warned! [Steve is the dominant one]

Normally I don't mind how people ship like if you want so and so to be the top and so and so to be the bottom and I don't agree with that then that's fine, but since I've had so many people talking crap to me lately about how I do it, I'm going to explain something…

Steve is clearly the dominant one in Stonathan. I don't know about the other Steve ships because while I don't mind them I don't ship them or pay attention to them [well except for Stoncy but imo Steve and Nancy are both clearly the dominants to Jonathan who is submissive so its the same thing].

But when it comes to Stonathan it's just absurd to say that Steve would be the submissive/bottom. I mean its obvious. Steve even has the personality of a dominant and Jonathan's personality is that of a sub. In fact, their entire dynamic is dom!steve and sub!Jonathan. Jonathan even acts like a sub when Steve starts to talk down to him. Okay, so Jonathan might be a mouthy sub/bottom, but realistically ALL subs are.

In all their scenes together in Season 1, they even act like dom!steve and sub!jonathan. Those scenes were like pre-slash to a BDSM story. I know I sort of mentioned this before, but I'll say it again: In the scene where Steve breaks Jonathan's camera, that scene screams dom!steve and sub!Jonathan and is enough to demonstrate this.

Steve walks up to Jonathan and starts touching him [unnecessarily] Jonathan doesn't fight it. He could so easily lift up his arms and push Steve away but he doesn't. Instead Jonathan just stands there and keeps his arms pinned down at his sides. He lets Steve touch him as much as he wants and lets Steve do whatever he likes with him. We all know that Jonathan could kick Steve's ass if he really wanted to here, but he doesn't, so its not that Jonathan CAN'T fight back against what Steve is doing to him…its that he DOESN'T WANT TO. Jonathan also keeps his eyes averted from Steve as much as possible to show Steve he is letting him have all the power in the situation, to show he is not challenging him. Its a typical dom and sub interaction and Jonathan is clearly the sub/bottom and Steve is the dom/top.

Then in later seasons, Steve is taking charge and being the leader of the group and bossing everyone around and everyone obeys his orders overall. The kids talk back to him to keep him humble and challenge him but overall he is the one in charge and they challenge him so much because he is the main one to challenge since he is the overall leader [except when the adults show up]. So…Steve is a dominant type in all seasons not just Season 1.

I mean do whatever you want idc, but dont tell me off and call me delusional for thinking of Steve as a dom when he clearly is. It's actually so baffling to me when someone says Steve is the sub/bottom that to get you to understand how absurd I think it is: its just as absurd as saying Vecna or Lord Voldemort is a bottom. I just can't believe it. Steve is classically written as a dominant type of character.

So to all of you that want Steve as a sub and didn't say anything to me: Keep living your best life. This rant wasn't directed at you in any way and enjoy the ship how you want, but to the people that have been saying I'm in the wrong: My advice is to cut back on all the Palm Tree Delight.
