ohhhhh man like for a while ive been on board w the idea that kinger if he was a bug that hed be a moth and i mostly like it bc it creates a good contrast between him and queenie, plus moths being associated w phototaxis, and how often kinger gets shown w butterflies being kinda evocative of him n queenie. but i was watching a panel and sean mentions the idea of kinger being a rhinoceros beetle. which is ALSO cute. but the idea of the horn being the cross made me have the epiphany that kinger should be!!! a treehopper!!!!!!

i mean for one they have a similar funny horn situation that can easily be designed to look like the cross. but more IMPORTANTLY!!! is that some treehoppers exhibit mutualism with ants (!!!) BUT!!! also some treehoppers are presocial, aka they will live communally and take care of young and its SO SO fitting w his outlook that a bug that hed be a bug that takes care of each other....

(also theyre SUPER jumpy which is FITTING TOO. and they have HUGE EYES)discussion
