do you think attypf would still be enjoyable for someone who doesnt give a shit about marvel
good question, i dont know!
if you enjoy the taz characters and have at least a basic grasp of the mcu, which i get that you dont have to have actually liked the movies to have been exposed to them lol
then possibly? au’s function as a way to see the characters we love put in unfamiliar situations and then seeing  how they are able to keep their authenticity in these au’s that challenge them and make them grow outside of what canon has already given us. im really sorry but insert the obligatory “its familiar but not too familiar but not too not familiar” joke here.
for example lup and steve rogers have a lot of similar enough core personality traits and narrative functions that for attypf, lup is able to fulfill the role of captain america very naturally, but still acting like lup and having it be about her relationships with other taz characters? does that mean anything hmm
the authors dont focus too much on retelling the movies Too Perfectly in the beginning for the sake of pacing, and the greatest focus of the fic, is the characters (the way the movies should have been but oh well i guess) and while taako may be whining about being brainwashed and having a metal arm, its TAAKO complaining and not bucky? idk.
(i rambled... possibly too much about a fic that isnt even mine but its an interesting question: what is it about an au set in a universe that the reader maybe doesnt even like/care about/ know about, that would nonetheless draw the reader in, beyond for the sake of the characters being placed in that au?anyway thats enough out of me. maybe try it out anon and if you dont like it, no harm no foul!)
side note not about marvel or taz: if youre unfamiliar with the nature of the winter soldier story, please take the warnings at the beginnings of the chapters very seriously. the authors are careful to upfront about it but! it has a lot of violence, torture, discussion and showing mental health issues include triggers and panic attacks/dissociation, abuse, and off screen sexual content. i mean the amount of content that focuses on eating pastries and desserts almost outweighs ALL of those warnings, but just as a heads up thats something else to keep in mind.
tldr because i talk too much: it has some good taz character content that might help you get through the marvel universe setting, so maybe? depending on how much you hate marvel, it might not be the fic for you though.
