I think the weirdest criticism I see of adult cartoons is the idea of "forced swearing."
like... you guys dont just Talk Like That? because I do.
i just don't get it. it doesn't feel forced at all when i watch it, it feels natural.

MURDER HUSBANDS | Wind them up and watch them go (love letter to NBC’s Hannibal)
♫ To the tune of Climbing Up the Walls by Radiohead (with overture by Bruno Battisti D’Amario) ♫
Wow
So I feel like I say this every time. But Mary mother of god, this was a behemoth. By a mile the hardest vid I’ve ever made joke’s on me bc I’m the fucking crackerjack who decided to tack on an whole ass other song as an overture bc why in the name of all cocks would I decide to make anything easy like it’s funny bc I always have an impression of how easy a vid is going to come together when I get the idea, right. And this duo with this song just pbj. So ngl I thought the shit was gonna edit itself. But guess what yall? Radiohead like … makes some intricate, complex-sounding shit stunning revelation, almost as if that’s what they’re fuckinfjsbs known for
HOWMEVER, the day has come, it’s arrived and I’ve looked at this thing for so long now, I sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, cannot tell if it’s good anymore. My last vid, I took a long break so by the end, I had enough time away from it to remember it was at least good. This? This could be visual gobbledygook, mush for your eyes, the equivalent of that shit brown shade you get when you mix too many water colors together.
But likehopefully it’s not and you can pls enjoy this love letter to one of the greatestqueer romances in modern media, which is a bold statement whatever fight me but I can’t think of a queer ship before this in tv/movies where the romance unfolds like any other hetero relationship and queer identity isn’t the focus, which even though I think is important, lbr there’s more to gays than being gay. Like it’s kinda visionary, despite the fact that neither character is explicitly queer, when it becomes clear that they’re in love with each other, no one, in-universe, is pearl-clutching all: EGAD! But Will’s never been with 😱a man😱 before?? How in THE DICKENS could he be in love with Hannibal when I don’t have definitive proof he’s even touched tips with another man let alone been balls deep!!!!!!!! How dare he not have this big, gay awakening for us all to gawk at applaud for!!!!” ?
No, literally every character: Jack, Alana, Bedelia, Margot, Mason, even Will’s wife god bless I cannot remember her name but she deserved better *shakes fist at Will* etc., all acknowledge the transcendent romantic bond btwn them and no one questions it. Well, no one questions it thru the lens of performed queerness. Tbf ppl had a lotta questions about the like probable impending multiple murders which validsisjwh
These are just 2 ppl who’re in love with each other to the point of being uncontrollably homicidal Which like … goals? Like I’ve really wracked my brain and can’t think of another queership that unfolds like every other hetero ass love story. That is to say, where fluidity is more the default, at least to the extent that no one talks about the orientation of either players within the show’s universe. Regardless of whether Bryan Fuller intended that from the start which tbh I don’t think he did but I also don’t think it’s fair to call it queerbaiting. I think he let the story unfold and realized kinda with the rest of us that this was a magical!realism romance and not a crime procedural and by S3 leaned tf into it doesn’t really matter bc the universe in which these two exist to truss each other up like Christmas turkeys aka foreplay symbolizes so much more to me than whatever it was initially invented to be. And if it’s not art, folks, idk what is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ofc I mean the show is art, not the vid. Vid=potential gobbledygook

epic plots
prompt 6: “As I was sayi—I swear to all the gods that I will turn that rooster into our dinner tonight if it won’t shut up!”
member: minho wc: 1k genre: fluff, mythological / fantasy au, wizard au, enemies to something more civil au idk yall it ain’t always about romance warning: explicit language note: i distinctly remember making a disgusted face when my filo teacher said lam-ang’s sidekick was a rooster i have nothing against chickens it’s just,,,,he could’ve gotten a dog that’s what i’m saying
“Are you seriously going to sleep now?” Although you can’t see him with your eyes forced shut and covered with your wool blanket, you could tell by his voice that Minho’s frowning disapprovingly as he crouches right in front of your face. His hands are probably hovering over the blankets as well, specifically over your neck since you could easily tell that the wizard’s been wanting to strangle you to death since you met this afternoon. So much for supposedly being the “key” to your quest. “You know, if you’re gonna keep acting like this, I won’t be that much help to you.”
In response, you stubbornly turn to your other side and clutch your blankets tighter. In your new position, the distant cawing of your accompanying rooster becomes much louder in your ears but, in your annoyance, you’d rather get an earful of the chicken than Minho right now. “And if you’re going to keep bossing me around like this, I won’t be that much help to your case, either.”
The boy groans before begrudgingly producing a series of messy shuffles behind you as he then follows you, sitting on the ground this time when he faces you again. “I’m not being bossy, I really just want this to be over with.” He sighs and when you briefly open one eye to discreetly peek, you see him running a hand through his orange hair and looking annoyedly over his shoulder. After you, the annoying rooster’s probably the next on his hit list. “I didn’t choose to be the help in every hero’s adventure, you know.”
“Should’ve thought about that when you offended the higher gods, don’t you think?” You tease with a smirk that he catches when he looks down at you, earning you a slap on the arm from him. “Ow!”
He rolls his eyes without much of a remorse, crossing his arms in front of his chest after. “I had my reasons a long time ago.” He only explains before smoothly taking your conversation back on track. “Anyway, not the point, you’re stalling! I told you to get up five minutes ago, your damn rooster’s being too noisy and you haven’t told me what you’re supposed to achieve in this quest of yours.”
You open your eyes this time and sit up to properly face him, squinting your eyes at him then at the rooster you see over his shoulder just outside the tent. He cracks a small laugh at your messy hair in response but you’re quick to hit him with your pillow in retaliation. “It’s not my rooster, it just stuck with me when I saved it the other day. Heroes have obligatory animal sidekicks in epics, remember? Personally, I don’t like the rooster either.”
“And our course of action for this quest?” He asks next, his hand instinctively going up to his temples when the rooster’s cawing grows louder. “What is it with this goddamn bird?”
You sigh an ‘I know right,’ before mirroring his crisscross position and answering, “I’m supposed to retrieve the sea goddess’ pearls from the South Wind god—Yang...Yang Jeongin? Yeah, that kid.”
Minho nods in thought, uncrossing his arms now that you’re cooperating. He then props an elbow up on his knee and leans his cheek on his knuckle, looking up at you. “Then that’s it? No romance plot, going to space or under the sea, travelling across the world, or anything?”
You furrow your brows at him and lean back defensively. Nearby, the rooster caws almost comically. “Romance plot— w-what?”
He shrugs one shoulder nonchalantly. “That’s what usually happens to heroes in epic stories, ri—?” He’s suddenly cut off by the rooster cawing really loudly now as it approaches the tent, coming in on one entrance then running out to the other. “What the hell? Anyway...well, that’s what—” Another caw and you could swear Minho’s eyes are turning red in annoyance. “—that’s what the other heroes I’ve helped have done...”
You open your mouth but the rooster caws again, making you huff in annoyance as well. “No one told me anything about—” Ca-caw! “—about anything else but—” Ca-caw! “the pearls. Goddamn it, this rooster...”
“If that’s the case, then, we’ll just have to find ou—” CA-CAW!!! Minho rolls his eyes, his eyes completely red now as a dagger starts levitating behind him. You smack his arm again, scolding him for whatever it is he’s thinking, but the dagger only inches towards the tent’s back exit. “As I was sayi—” CA-CAW! CA-CAW! “I swear to all the gods that I will turn that rooster into our dinner tonight if it won’t shut up!”
CA-CAW!
CA-CAW!
The dagger stops right over your shoulder, however, and when you look back at Minho, he’s only looking back at you as if asking for your approval.
“Seriously?” You ask him incredulously, with a chuckle and he nods seriously.
“Animal companions don’t really contribute that much.” He explains, the dagger returning to its straight path to the rooster. “Also, I know Jeongin personally. He won’t put up a fight for the pearls, it’s about time he gave them back, anyway.”
You ponder over this for a moment as Minho impatiently taps patterns on his knees. When you look over, the levitating dagger follows the rooster as it runs in circles around the bonfire Minho made earlier this evening but it doesn’t move an inch more to kill it. It makes you chuckle a bit in amusement. “Why are you waiting for my say...respectfully?”
“Y/N, I’m not heartless and inconsiderate.” The wizard scoffs. “How would I know if you like the rooster?”
You raise an eyebrow at him and he only nods, as if convincing you that he’s being truthful. After a few more moments, you then sigh in defeat. “Fine but not tonight’s dinner. On the return trip instead, yeah? He’ll quiet down eventually.”
“He better.” Minho deadpans, dropping his arms to his sides as he then stands up. “Alright, come on, let’s look for other dinner options. I’m getting hungry again.”
on a night much like tonight (drabble game)
