Will be real. i dont necessarily think ppl are, as a whole, getting "more rude" or "less polite" or "value etiquette less." I think we're just continually inventing new ways to be annoying as fuck and the second we figure out a way to deal with it, a new way is invented. I think this will continue into infinity

#personal #lukewarm take but i dont really agree with the idea that humanity as a whole has somehow become worse #or that people- everyone everywhere as a collective human population- is on a regressive spiral #or cares any less about manners or compassion or doing the right thing than it ever did #now what i DO agree with is that there are factors that HAVE lent to a sense of entitlement and impatience in a lot of people #ie things like next-day amazon delivery and a degrading sense of value put towards 'intangible' things like skill time effort etc #but also i dont think those attitudes are remotely new or unique on the human side #idk man i just kind of roll my eyes whenever i get blazed a post that suggests that somehow within the past few decades #humanity as a whole has become 'worse' and is in a new and unique state of societal regression #a la 'people these days are SO RUDE and CARE LESS and have become SO SELFISH and this is NEW AND UNHEARD OF'
