HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAY TO PRINCE OF EGYPT!!!! 🎉🎉🎉

(i can't believe i haven't seen this ANYWHERE bc this anniversary has literally been in my phone since last year)

prince of egypt is my favorite film and it's FLAWLESS, in everything from the cinematography to the story & dialogue, the animation, etc. it is KING of all movies.

i posted a thread on twitter with some of my fave screencaps so HERE YOU GO in all its screenshotted-from-youtube glory

(i love how the shadow from moses' arm in the pic above falls over pharoah btw. every frame was intentional!!!)

here are some of my fave parallels WITHIN the movie itself:

(this one above kills me - right after moses talks with God, he's discussing with zipporah and he says to her "look at your people. they are free", emphasizing that his own people aren't. then, at the end of the movie, after moses has led them to freedom, zipporah turns to him and says the exact same words)

anyway speaking of moses & zipporah!!!!!! here's them showing us what true romance looks like:

this film is GORGEOUS, is SO intentional with literally every single frame, tells a well-known story in a beautiful and relatable way, has an incredibly varied & talented cast, and just overall is the peak of 2d animation for me. happy 25 years 🎉
