Like I can kinda see justifying Gina giving that speech to Ricky if we're all agreeing that Gina kinda knew Ricky had feelings for her.

But wouldn't it have been more flavorful to see Ricky and Gina slowly trip into a romance while trying to sneak into the shooting area of HSM4, being theater nerds during rehearsals, and thinking they're falling back into a natural friendship when they're really just falling in love?

#here's how i would've written that ending: have the confession actually get leaked #then have ricky try to immediately cover his tracks by telling gina he doesn't want the documentary to ruin their friendship #and him almost kinda making the decision for her to remain as friends cos he assumes she'll reject him #and she doesnt stop him so the season ends with gina knowing how ricky feels and it being hinted that she may like him back #so we're left to wait until s4 to see how she'll respond to being around ricky now that they both know he likes her #but with him having asked her not to make a big deal out of it #if season 4 has 10 eps then id have rina actually get together during ep 7 or 6 #really drag that shit out so that it feels earned #but nevermind THAT #hsmtmts #rina #ricky x gina #gina porter #ricky bowen
