TOWL Ep 2
Beautiful beyond words. 😭 I think this show is deliberately trying to send me to the afterlife. And they’re succeeding with every ep. That stunning Richonne reunion. That mesmerizing alone time between the vehicles. EVERYTHING. 🙌🏽🥹 I’ll be obsessing over every detail of this for years to come.
Also, Rick and Michonne are about to have to try and do the impossible and it’s not escaping the CRM - no, escaping will be light work compared to Richonne having to try and tone down all that piping hot passion between them so no one realizes they’re married. As well as try to pretend Michonne isn’t the baddest chick in the game. 😅Send them prayers for strength, y’all (or I guess prayers to hide the strength lol) #IBelieveInRichonne👑 #IAlsoBelieveTheirLoveIsStillGonnaBeRealLoud

Main Takes from My Hero Academia Season 4
So now that episode 25 had aired, Season 4 of My Hero Academia has come to an end. Which means a long wait till the next one. Personally I binged most of it (having started binge watching a few months ago and stopping at Season 3 since Season 4 was still near midway), I got my dates muddled due to Self-Isolation and thought we were on Ep 24 instead of 23, so I’ve had to wait for the last 2, but it was fine since the final 2 are more backdoor mini-arcs to the next season.
Initially when S4 ended I wanted to do a full review, but I found myself writing tldr levels of stuff while still in the first arc, so I’m just doing quick bullet takes
Sadly, some spoilers are unavoidable, and even I was unable to be spoiled from S4 and manga stuff thanks to recommendation algorithms and haphazard/not-so-cryptic comments in threads. However, I don’t wanna spread that so if you’re not caught up on Season 4 watch it, Spoilers are below.
So Season 4 was wild, and exciting and did a mighty job swelling my stone of a heart XD But the main things I took from S4 was as follows
Obviously, Protect Eri at Every Cost in Every Currency
The Fast Tracking of All Might’s time coming to a close feels intentional as if to constantly put us on edge with the fact that Deku will be without his father figure
Never let a subordinate attack the main villain
Buff Tintin Mirio and Deku are the perfect buddy system
Team Fatgum is a wholesome well-rounded unit
We should’ve seen at least some of Tokoyami’s work study if you were gonna hype up Hawks 20 episodes prior
People think Chisaki was old enough to have a 6 year old kid, though age does seem to be deceptive as Gentle and La Brava show
Ryukyu, Nejire, Uraraka, Bubble Girl and Tsu could’ve had more active screentime, and Deku’s mother should’ve gotten a smidge given how Deku was in a literal Yakuza raid
Tamaki’s Quirk is awesome but poses a lot of morally questionable hypotheses on how far it can go, also Suneater is a badass nickname
Mina can involve breakdancing into any situation
Kirishima is a strong and brave man who deserves all the praise he got
It was also great to see that not everyone has the ‘Legs moved before thinking’ moment and it doesn’t diminish a person if they don’t have it, it’s also nice to see someone look up to someone else other than All Might, being number 1 doesn’t mean you’re everyone’s favourite.
No homo but Fitgum got them features
Toga is much stronger than I gave her credit for, I mean I knew she was strong but she stabbed Aizawa without her quirk while wrapped in his scarf threads!
Mirio proves that you don’t need a quirk to be a hero, it just helps a bit, that boy didn’t give up
Chisaki’s plan was...odd actually, Eri can rewind sure but he can literally break down and reshape people, couldn’t he just mess up someone’s physiology and de-quirk them?
100% Deku is a force (though I reserve the disdain that Chisaki went for the cliché ‘big monster but my main body hangs out of it’ route)
Never sleep on the League of Villains
Uraraka and maybe Tsu were probably more traumatized than they let on, it’s not easy to get over holding a dying man in your arms
How do you hide a motherfucker as big as Gigantomachia in a forest!? He has a literal radio around his neck. Also I feel like Kurogiri could’ve escaped if he wanted to...
How did no-one think that Camie was compromised she acts completely different to Toga and she showed her quirk, wouldn’t they know what her quirk was from her file anyway?
That teacher needs therapy, and a long holiday
Seiji and Present Mic should do all the commentary
Bakugo has good leadership skills, but the license course didn’t really resolve his public abrasiveness
I do wanna see more of cross-school activities, more Inasa but also more Ms Joke and her lot
Aoyama was never gonna be the traitor, the dude is far too Cheesy
I was actually glad to see the Pussycats, and that Ragdoll is well now even if quirkless, for a while I thought she would be a vegetable or worse a Nomu
Sato’s image of Bakugo and Todoroki in a 70s Disco movie is hilarious and I will fight those who disagree
Be still my Kamijirou heart, the boy gave up a Maid Café to encourage her love for music, also her voice is beautiful
I still can’t stand Monoma...
Hatsume should just mark herself down as Deku’s official support mechanic, like his Lucius Fox because she just comes in clutch with what he needs
Deku should’ve really thought about using 20% in small bursts on his own, it’s okay he didn’t but let’s not forget that the boy has a brain on him
Gentle is the complete opposite of Chisaki; while Chisaki had the intimidation and evil plan he lacked a lot of personality outside of ‘Don’t Touch Me’ and ‘Yakuza Rights’, Gentle has more a nuisance who wants to be famous, but he has personality oozing out of every pore
Gentle is also proof that ‘legs moving without thinking’ doesn’t always work, had he saved that person his life would be much different just like how Deku’s life would’ve been different if All Might didn’t step in. But sadly he was subjected to a vicious environment where everyone rejected him. Hopefully he can get a second chance to be good, because even some of his criminal activities had good intentions in them
The school festival episode was just euphoric fun, also Bakugo’s ‘we won’ face was great
The new top 10 is interesting, but Ryukyu was robbed. She fought a monster of the Hassakai and lost placement!? I’m also surprised Nighteye wasn’t in the Top 10 given how powerful his quirk is and how he was able to bring heroes of multiple agencies together. Glad Jeanist is alive I do worry a little about Kamui though, he keeps getting mentioned for his ascent as a ‘promising young hero’, also people really thirst for the tan bunny
I cannot get a read on Hawks, his quirk is cool though
This Liberation front seems key for next season
Todoroki’s hot sister is still hot...what do you mean that’s not relevant!?
High End is pretty dangerous, but heroes should really aim for the head with these things (I do like the little touch that Nomu abilities differ by their colour)
Endeavor’s redemption arc is earned, it’s still not there yet but it’s important not to fast track it, he’s owning up to his mistreatment rather than expecting forgiveness and that is a good way to build to it, he had his United States of Smash moment and it was a gloriously animated fight
This spells bad things for the hierarchy though that the Number 1 and 2 had to work together to stop a monster sent by other villains, it diminishes the chart structure and Dabi knows that...plus he probably wanted to stick it to his old man because he’s obviously a Todoroki
Did not expect to see other One for All holders! What does it mean!? And why is Deku just a hand and half a head? Is it just a show that he’s only 20% at his power? Season 5 is gonna be crazy

Battle 2
Ultravox : Rage In Eden (side 2)
Vs.
Missing Persons : Spring Session M (side 2)
Ultravox : Rage In Eden (side 2)
Ultravox (earlier stylized as Ultravox!) were a British new wave band, formed in London in 1973 as Tiger Lily. Between 1980–86, they scored seven Top Ten albums and seventeen Top 40 singles in the UK, the most successful of which was their 1981 hit "Vienna". In July 1976, while working on the late stages of their debut album, the band conceived the name Ultravox! (the exclamation mark was a reference to krautrock band Neu! Like many other bands that formed Britain's punk and new wave movements, Ultravox! drew inspiration from the art-school side of glam rock. Musically, Ultravox were heavily influenced by Roxy Music, the New York Dolls, David Bowie and Kraftwerk. After some turmoil behind the scenes and with the band seemingly over, Ultravox were then revitalised by Midge Ure, who joined the band as vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist. 1981’s Rage In Eden is Midge’s first real contribution to the band and kicks off with “The Thin Wall”. It starts us off and it is yes, Yes, YES VERY 80’s! Super robotic (which I love) and enough electro elements to make Tellex jealous. It mixes with rock too, so it’s certainly accessible for the general public. My only complaint is the length! Clocking in near 6 plus minutes it seems to drone on longer than necessary. “Stranger Within “ follows, and also drones a bit, but still plausible and doesn’t sacrifice the effectiveness. Desperate, sparse and industry-al.
The next cut, “Accent on Youth”, changes up the story a little. It seems radio friendly and familiar. Catchy verses and chorus I feel as though perhaps this has been covered a lot by other bands in the genre. A tight and warm conclusion and it bleeds nicely and seamlessly into “The Ascent”. I am sure the play on words is at least somewhat intentional. It’s completely instrumental and then further bleeds into “Your Name Has Slipped My Mind Again”. Back to the droning. Boy, this band has more drones than Amazon! (#seewhatididthere). Another (essentially) instrumental with the chanting of the title over and over again. In my honest opinion this is an underrated band. Also, the cover art is a cool Art Deco piece. Kraftwerk meets Devo, meets Depeche Mode meets New Order. Just to give you some credentials. The vocals are emphatic and yearning, ala Joy Division. Almost theatrical and play-like in nature. I guess “Ze Germans” DO know! (#seewhatididthere)
Missing Persons : Spring Session M (side 2)
Missing Persons is an American new wave rock band. The band was founded in 1980 in Los Angeles by guitarist Warren Cuccurullo, vocalist Dale Bozzio, and drummer Terry Bozzio. They later added bassist Patrick O'Hearn and keyboardist Chuck Wild. Dale's quirky voice and heavy makeup made the band a favorite on MTV in the early 1980s. Her revealing outfits didn’t hurt to help promote the band as well. Their 4 song ep (produced by Zappa) helped garner major label attention and quickly got them buzz and the billing of a “must see” band. My god, I was sooooo excited when I saw this album come up. In my personal opinion, this is one of the greatest albums to ever come out of the 80’s. Certainly required for any fan of new wave, or of the 80’s. Literally I could talk about how amazing this record is all day. It’s one of those albums that you listen to and are just amazed at the level of craft the band possesses. Light years ahead of anything else at the time. Technical as a computer and tight as a drum. These guys (and gal!) are as perfect a unit as they make. A well oiled machine. Married couple Terry and Dale (the aforementioned gal) Bozzio make a phenomenal team. Unfortunately it didn’t last past the initial run of the band and in 1986 the couple and band split. Let me just say, I was a sweaty mess by the time this was all over. Firstly the album title is an anagram for Missing Persons (pretty great, really) and second, it hangs on my band room wall for inspiration so...yeah. Dig it! This amazing piece of art all begins with “Tears”. Kick ass percussive knocks yields punky and jazzy beats all at once. I mean, it’s Copeland level shit. SOOOO TIGHT!! Terry B. Is an incredible percussionist. “Here and Now” is next on the line. Rock and power chord fanaticism mixed with some lucid classic rock moments. In the on deck circle though is what you’re waiting for. Easily the bands highest charting and most well known single “Words”. The video for this song was light years ahead of anything at the time and used visual effects which made it an early MTV air play favorite. DO YOU HEAR ME!!!??! (#seewhatididthere). Dale made squeaking a thing in music! How cool is that? Also the harmonies! Perfectly placed. Also, also, can we talk about how poignant the lyrics (or should I say WORDS (#seewhatididthere)) are? Listen to this amazing jam and tell me it’s not relevant. “Bad Streets” follows and is punky and fun while “Rock and Roll Suspension” quickly brings beautiful discordance. The pre and chorus define new wave as a genre. Ghostly at times. Lastly, “No Way Out” caps the album. Worth it for the math rock alone. In fact, the timing is so impeccable you could set your watch by it (#seewhatididthere). Maybe their second best song IMO. Parallel to Devo’s “Timing X”. Yeah, basically this album is the jam and you should get it. It went GOLD for crying out loud!!
Ok so Ultravox was very rage filled and burned 174 calories over 5 songs and 25 minutes. They earned 10 out of 15 possible stars and burned 34.80 calories per song, 6.96 calories per minute. Missing Persons took a spring session to the M-A-X and burned 156 calories over 22 minutes and 6 tunes. They is 26.0 calories per song and 7.09 calories per minute. They managed to earn 15 out of 18 possible stars. It seems the Persons may be Missing, but certainly not the beat! Missing Persons wins!!
Missing Persons : “Words” (I am 100% serious when I say this is one of the greatest songs (and albums for that matter) of the 80’s
