Cambridge International announces IGCSE and A levels results - Times of India
Tumblr media
MUMBAI: The first this season, the Cambridge International on Tuesday announced the results of its March 2020 exam series in India for class X to XII. The exams for this series was completed across the country before the lock down began.
The March series is popular with Indian students as it enables them to get their results in time to meet local admission deadlines. This year, combined 52,190 entries were submitted for IGCSE (class X) and AS (class XI) and A (class XII) Level by 337 schools across the country. Out of which over 41,000 entries were for IGCSE and over 11,000 were for AS and A Level.
Mahesh Srivastava, regional director, South Asia, Cambridge International said, “These are unprecedented times and I feel these exam results give hope and encourage students to plan for the future. As an international education provider, we are committed to getting results out to students on time even in a crisis. We are doing all we can to allow students to continue their education as smoothly as possible.”
Schools across the city recorded a high number of students with scoring A and A* (highest) grades in various subjects. “Out of the 183 students who appeared, we have achieved 226 A* & 381 A’s. The highest score is 93.86%. Though the board allowed us to conduct internal exams for A levels which were scheduled in May- June we have rescheduled it to October exam series,” said Bijo Kurian, principal, Witty International School, Malad. For June 2020 series results, Cambridge International is collaborating with schools to ensure that the subject grades earned by the students represent their achievement levels as set out by rigorous Cambridge International standards.
Principals are also relieved that the results were announced in time. Rakhi Mukherjee, principal, Utpal Shanghvi Global School said, “Getting the results on time, especially with the on-going crisis, will reduce the anxiety levels of the student and parent community. Students will get sufficient time to plan the further course of studies with the confidence of having their marks in hand.” At the school, 34.38% and 58.7% of all A level and IGCSE grades respectively achieved are A* & As. Yasashvi Paarakh topped the A levels with overall percentage of 92.5%. The IGCSE topper at the school was Anushka Pande with 95.17%.
At SVKM International School, Vile Parle about 55% of the grades among IGCSE students were A* and A. Jay Jimulia with 10 A*s in IGCSE scored 97.2% and topped the school.
