"In Deutschland zum Beispiel müssen Praktika, die länger als drei Monate dauern, seit 2014 mit dem Mindestlohn vergütet werden. Das hat die Bezahlung insgesamt nach oben getrieben. Der lässt sich für Arbeitgeber nämlich leicht umgehen: Wenn das Praktikum kürzer als drei Monate ist oder Teil eines Pflichtpraktikums im Studium, dann müssen keine 8,50 Euro pro Stunde gezahlt werden. Der Großteil der Praktika bleibt unbezahlt. Aber dafür, so die Argumentation, habe man auch keine Pflichten, die einem bezahlten Job entsprechen. Das Burgtheater liege mit dieser Regelung über dem Durchschnitt im Kulturbereich, meint die Pressesprecherin."“
