Look yes of course I'll fight injustice for the small guys.
Problem I have is despite poor pay and conditions of all fields, to bother with in it's raw fish format, you'd have to be overwhelmingly priviledged to get to that point.
That's fine, to be utterly clear. But the fact remains the Sole Reason these strikes worked is because big names are attached enough to make a media storm, to put people on the correct team.
When tf's our media storm. When are we going to unify for each other?
Never. Because we don't get the word out with big names to popularize common sense the average of the masses can't even comprehend. Can't make it fun to fight for the small guy when the rich offer 5% discounts for useful idiots that don't care about their fellow human.
Or, to put it simply. I'm glad we're helping the upper middle class and some below, but boy howdy, is it frustrating knowing it only happened because Useful Idiots had nothing to manipulate them but whatever actor from whatever show they love.
To simplify further: Of course the strikes worked. Who'd be against them? We live in an uber media focused time period. No shit it worked. No shit big names got involved, AI was coming for their jobs. They don't give a shit about the rest of it, that just ensured they won to be for it instead of their default against.
But that ain't happening at a fast food place, republicans will show up with AR-15s to threaten a shitty overpriced burger.
What. The worst that happened was they cut some trees down and threatened your lively hood? Fucking get in line loser, you're in fuckin' hollywood, I can't find out what's growing out of my body and doctor's ain't showing up for appointments. You, are insured.
Ain't any celebrities working fast food...
None working office jobs. None working construction. Nurses, teachers.
No celebrities.
Of all places for immigrants to go, it'd be very unlikely to be hollywood. All I'm saying is, you and I will never be around influential and rich people that can make change for you.
I support WGA. But I despise them for working within this capitalist hellscape in a way only they would ever be priviledged enough to acheieve. To manipulate the stupid only works when the rich are in control. This time, the rich weren't fighting the utterly next to homeless, but people with money and influence.
Tf are they doing every other day? Living off the stolen wages of those in the picket line. Scared of AI. But they'll make a tweet or appearance for that easy PR. But for you and me? Jaaaaaack shit to anti-humanity.
They ain't gonna return that handshake either. Expect every big name to be vocal against the same they recieved, just against it for everyone else.
Because my god. Have you actually seen how the big names live? They know they need you poor to stay rich. Media will distract with escapism.
Sure, their industry can have the life improvements, because AI was threatening their jobs. Full stop, it affected capitalists. And us idiots helped them just to help the small man.
But you? Pffft. Who tf are you? Thanks for helping us with the strikes, but uh, that benefited me. Helping you is...not beneficial, to me.
Whatever, do good to be good, even when the recipient is up their own ass.
