i'm Normal about this aspect now (promise) but it is interesting to track the points where we depart from battler's pov/narrative voice and what that could mean even just on a stylistic/thematic level.
#umineko liveblog#ep1 reread#pointing this out because while the obvious thing to assume is that this is a soft pov shift to maria who believes where battler doesn't#a lot of the language around maria is a little vague. she 'must have' felt this way#in contrast to the prior chapter where we're clearly and unambiguously told how natsuhi feels overwhelmed by her emotions#no evidence for this and i might be totally wrong but this is making me consider how a hypothetical third narrative element would sit#at the very least some scenes are narrated with a greater degree of uncertainty than others#not sure what it means for how i should read them/what i should glean from them but yeah#either that or i really am scrutinising minute choices in wording that mean nothing lmao#i am very uncertain on this point but i keep noticing it and i can't help but be annoying with it lol
