Some people give their characters reasonable backstories, and then there's me.
One's an alien that can see the future and gets anxious about it. That's not an ability the rest of their people have, it's just a them thing.
Now if you look to your left you'll see the robot wizard who previously engaged in scientific and corporate espionage and got assassinated for it, but don't worry they got better.
And this one? This one's straight up a dragon. If dragons could also shapeshift and grant wishes, but he cant do either of those things very well
And don't even get me started on my dnd character

ehaydon replied to your post: can someone explain why so many people put “the...
Well, to me, it was a major turning point in the story of pink diamond’s shattering. We got proof that Rose couldnt have done it with her sword, and all the theories that blue Zircon brought up were mind blowing.
i mean... i guess part of why it didn’t do much for me is i was kinda “ahead of the curve” with that theory, yknow? nothing zircon said really surprised me.
like. i’d already put it together that something was Very Wrong with rose’s backstory from the second bismuth mentioned she was “just another quartz made right here in the dirt”, 2 seasons earlier. that was a done deal.
Tumblr media
and your mileage may vary, but from how i remember the fandom... the impossible sword was handled in such a way (there’s no callback to what bismuth said, just mentioning that ‘it was a sword’) that people were mostly trying to make it yellow diamond whodunit. which... did absolutely nothing for me, because i wasn’t really looking for the kind of tragedy p’rn where pink is just your agency-free waif who exists for other characters’ benefit.
i think it also... irked me, how some in the fandom were so eager to have it be  yellow who did it... it seemed to hinge on this basic idea that a character being stressed during her trying to get closure over her fellow diamond meant she was Totally Guilty, Look How Tense and Suspicious She is.
like... yeah, it confirms rose’s sword was involved... but Some folks acted like this was all totally new and challenging information, and then took it to the Least interesting conclusion. it felt like just me and a few others were entertaining that, no, rose WAS involved and probably/maybe pink herself. you can’t just scapegoat yellow as an easy conclusion.
plus, many of the reasons zircon lists were... if not wrong, very biased?
i know people act like she Had It All Figured Out, and she says many “technically” true things... but she was still working within a very homeworldian mentality - which, sadly, many didn’t challenge. that of course a pearl, if present, wouldn’t do more than overdramatically cry out for her diamond. so zircon dismisses her out of hand and moves on to this all just being a propaganda lie by the other diamonds still in power... which for some reason, people in the fandom found compelling? i really don’t get that. i didn’t see the appeal of it being yellow (or white) At All.
zircon’s is just a perspective, like any other - not at all an infallible one. the best parts of the episode were the unsaid things... like how she SHOULDN’T have brushed pearl aside so easily, or DIDN’T know that the sword couldn’t shatter.
to me, what makes this story great is that it was pulled off by the last thing any of the HW crew expected - an alliance between the least respected diamond, trying to destroy the colonial effort, and the pearl with the courage to risk it all.

Music genre: Alternative rock
Literature genre: Dark fantasy
What would they do if their wish came true: Spend the rest of her life happy, live to tell her story,
Would they believe in magic (if living in a world without it): Anise can be a little cynical, until she learns not to be. She probably wouldn't believe in magic unless it has a logical aspect to it.
Other things: Anise wants to be a spy against Monochrome, as she already has a lot of dirt on them. She is currently taking training. She wants to redeem herself for once being a villain. A struggle of hers is that people tend to trust her less when they find out she was once a villain, so she tries to be as nice and heroic as possible. Anise is very good with little kids, gets along with them, and is extremely sweet towards them. She's like a cool big sister.
Character song lyric sample:
Create an AU series starring them:

What do you think is going to happen to the off-colors?
B  I  N  G  O       B  O  N  G  O..................Jokes aside, I think they’re going to be space pirate-ing with Lars of the Stars. Annnd they’ll absolutely try to make it to Earth!! HECK! That’s the reason the hightailed it out of those ancient homeworld kindergartens; Steven told them about Earth, where they can be free and be themselves!!This will also ultimately tie in with the whole “”will they or won’t they” dynamic Lars has with Sadie. We’ve seen in the newer trailers that Sadie and Lars’ parents are both stressed out about their son being abducted by goddamned aliens. So he’s got to return to his family eventually. Annnnd my final “thing that will happen” prediction is that Lars of the Stars; new space pirate captain extraordinaire will run into another alien species. The show has foreshadowed other alien life in quite a few episodes. There’s Ronaldo’s infamous idea that sneople exist. And Yellow Diamond has a HUGE disdain for “organic life”. Blue Diamond & Blue Pearl refer to Greg as a planet “native”. Meaning they must have come across other organic natives at other points during the gempire expansions. Other members of Blue’s court also have a kind of “awareness” for this sort of thing. Blue Zircon mentions during Steven’s trial that Rose Quartz going out of her way to protect a species like humanity was outrageous; and Aquamarine has zero clue why her diamond would want specific humans.Considering how LARGE a gosh darn universe is. There HAVE to be other alien species. Whether they are snake themed or not; I have a REALLY strong feeling that there are more cool aliens with neat backstory and lore tied to them. HECK; when Lars or Steven come across them, this new race might be in the middle of being conquered by the Diamond Authority. Who knows??Also how cool would it be if Lars of the Stars got more alien representatives from other races aboard on his space pirate crew!!!Consider the following:* Said new alien culture might have psychic powers and might be the race that teaches Padparadscha to harness their powers correctly. A lot of SU theorists both on tumblr and Youtube think she could be really useful; so maybe this is how her powers and character development get sorted out! ((It would also help give character background to whoever is teaching Paddy so bonus points if this becomes a legit thing!!))* Florite’s “new right gem” she meets for her polyamorus fusion is a member of this new organic alien species. so she has to figure out how to “fuse” with them in their own way. Similar to how Greg had to learn to “fuse” with Rose Quartz.* Rhodonite learning to overcome some of her nervousness by interacting with new, friendly people. Maybe she could unfuse in a panic with them and then refuse into a more coherent form?? Like how Garnet eventually learned to not be cotton candy Garnet. This would also give us insight into how this particular Ruby and Pearl met and fell in love. Because Off-color backstory is the best kind of backstory. Bonus points if her new form when fused looks a bit like a mix between one of Stevonie’s outfit forms with this new alien culture’s fashion???* Also more scenes with the Rutile twins would be great! Like consider that the twins are the first to find these said new aliens and go through the “It’s okay we’re not going to hurt you” thing like they did when they both first met Steven and Lars. The twins strike me as the most levelheaded of the off-colors besides Florite. So I think that the twins would be the best option for first contact interactions.((because Florite might be intimidating to a new alien race. We know her as an A++ caterpillar grandma gem but like. If YOU had zero clue who she was and YOU had to meet a giant caterpillar lady I think you’d be pretty darn scared, seriously.))You probably didn’t want a giant wall of text like this anon; but that’s the Sprite Lady guarantee. ASK LITTLE AND GET A WALL OF TEXT WITH ZERO HASSLE.Hopefully you enjoyed this silly answer either way though!!   =|:D

But you can **ask.** There is no “knowledge” without a **question** to spawn it. Both are symbolized by the Greek letter K or *kappa *- think κwestion to get it. The question *is *the answer. Until you (or someone) ask(s), “how do we know the world is old?” we just assume the world is old, maybe because it *feels* or *looks* old (what was that they say about looks and deception?), because that was what we were told, or some elder or expert knows so that's good enough, or it's just not relevant or interesting enough for us to bother asking a question about. Or because a super simple answer can douse the question and thwart further inquiry. “Because zircons.” It takes persistence to go, “really? That's the answer? That's *it???*” And this is how science works, with a question* first.* Another example. We can only say *we know gravity is real *because someone after many centuries finally actually ***asked**** why and how that apple fell off the tree like that.* “Why did that apple fall?” Until Isaac asked that super basic question - yes apocryphal as this tale may be, it symbolizes how science happens - until he did, why would anyone even need a theory of gravity? Imagine if someone were to put down that inquiry with an easy answer? “It just fell, dude. Who cares. Lets go get beer” and then, no need for a new theory, right? There are a million reasons that a question like the root question of this thread might never come up. I personally never asked myself “how come ‘they’ are so sure the world is so old?” despite being in a class called “Earth Science” in 7th grade. I'm 44 now. That's a lot of ignorance!! Nevertheless, until you (or *someone*) ask(s) the question **there is no knowledge. **I am ignorant about “zircons” until I read this question and the subsequent answer. Every Google search is a **query** and that is your clue… you don't know anything, nor does anyone else, without a question preceding the knowledge somewhere. And any small child can ask a question, am I right? When your Emperor is naked, it still takes *someone *to ask the question “Mom, why doesn't that man have any clothes on?” Or else, we all take the fact for granted, or we ignore the fact, or we get distracted doing something else. Until the question, the Emperor is just parading around naked, and everyone else is just fine with that! There is nothing to actually *know* about the fact, unless a question occurs first. Then and only then do we care about how the Emperor was deceived in the first place. The entire story is a backstory that answers a question; without the question there is no need for the answer. The question **interrupts the pattern of ignorance. **All questions are a **challenge** to the status quo. (The status Quora?) And there can be no change without challenge. Even this very answer works this way and **begs further questions from an *****inquiring mind.*** 1. “How do you know the world is old?” 2. “Zircons kid.” 3. “Oh really? Is that really it? Is that the only real proof the world is that old, because zircons??? Sounds a bit dodgy” 4. *“Let me go figure out some other bit of proof for you. There must be more than one proof of something so gigantic…”* And so a scientific inquiry is born. Quora itself shows how we learn from the questions of others. We only memorialize the one who answers the questions but the one who asks it in the first place is just as important. Socrates got famous for asking questions rather than having answers. Someone *else* might answer the question before you. And you and all of us would still benefit from the answer. That is how knowledge grows. We learn from the questions of others and share the answers as knowledge together. That's why science is a *community.* So would you have known “zircons” if nobody had ever asked this question? It *does *sound rather flimsy an explanation doesn't it? Shouldn't science have to triangulate this important assertion with at least one other bit of proof? Should we not ask them to find more proof? With a question you can egg others on to prove things. and only after the answer, only THEN can you “know” anything at all. Questions are the flashlight piercing the darkness of ignorance. Questions literally *spawn* knowledge. If you don't know, just ask. And with questions, you CAN have knowledge. Indeed you have true knowledge only after you get used to questioning. “Are you free tonight? Want to get coffee?” The answer you get is definitive. That answer now becomes KNOWLEDGE. “Yes” would tell you definitively that she is free, and that what you would like to do is also something she would like to do. You now KNOW SOMETHING that you really didn't KNOW until you ASKED. Until you actually ASK, you are in a dream space of ignorance about her, aren't you? Think about it. κwestions are the κey to all κnowledge. You are now κurious about it.
