THE SMART VIEW is an independent magazine with a focus on mobile photography.Born in 2015 and housed by the Instagram Account @thesmartview, it is a platform where photographers around the world can submit their work to get featured, published and exhibited by TSV. Today, our #magazinemonday features the brand new photo zine edition of the magazine. The TSV_ZINE was launched in june 2019 and aims to engage TSV’s Instagram community every month to submit their works according to specific themes, curated from the hashtag submissions. According to the founder and editor Rosa Roth, the topic of this first call was not easy for the Instagram community - a world so dominantly ruled by the selfie. The first issue invites you for an intimate walkthrough moment to observe 32 different perspectives about one’s inner self, showcasing works of international photographers on the topic ‘Self-Reflections’.

Today's #magazinemonday presents a publication that will take you from Athens to Tokyo, passing through L.A and stopping by many cities that we love. Not like your touristic travel guide book, Desired Landscapes Magazine is a hybrid of magazine and city guide that brings unique narratives and points of view about different cities, portrayed by storytellers of today. Through poetry, street photography, interviews and first-person short stories, the first issue reveals hidden secrets of the metropolis, as well as tales of its past and future-projections. Different paper textures, artworks and great travel tips also blend the issue that has just the right size for your pocket, making it perfect for travellers and magazine lovers.
Next September, Desired Landscapes will come all the way to Indiecon with a brand new issue. We wonder where it will take us next time. ✨

Founded in 2012 in Weimar and now based in Berlin, Die Epilog is an annual magazine compilating texts, reports, poetry and photography through the lenses of contemporary culture - one topic per issue. On its eighth edition, named ‘Große Plane - Wird schon schiefgehen’, it brings to the table the facets of plan-making in a world where everything must be meticulously thought out beforehand; questioning and answering the necessity of strategy, from political-structural issues to music improvisation, stopping by many other perspectives throughout the pages. On 7-8 September, Die Epilog goes even further north on the map to take part at Indiecon 2019. Planner or not, save the date on your calendar and join us for a two-day publishing fair in Hamburg!

Les Others is a magazine dedicated to all the adventure seekers out there. Published twice a year, each edition revolves around a different theme. The ninth one, entitled The Progression Issue, is marked by a redesign and an update of the magazine's formula, embracing all the meanings that the topic suggests. The main goal is to reconnect people with nature by presenting a new definition of adventure: more creative, more sustainable and more accessible. To reach that, 304 pages are filled with photo series, essays and interviews on topics like the transmission of knowledge through generations and how a new theory comes to life, joined by pictures from photographers from many different places of the world. Les Others will either make you contemplate its inspiring stories for hours or leave the couch right away and create your own. We are fine with both.

🌈 Indiecon special #magazinemonday 🌈
At their Hamburg-based HQ, our hometown fellows from Textem Verlag publish, twice a year, the magazine Kultur & Gespenster. Since 2006, the publication presents a high bandwidth stream of essays, documentaries, art and literature towards culture and society. In their own words: "pushing firmly against the tendency of stupidity". The 20th issue brings texts from 17 different writers about alternative forms of publications in both analogue and digital times, since the 1960s. Unter Dem Radar is a bold issue about magazines, taking in consideration the aesthetics, communication structures and the journalistic contexts present in the underground spectrum.

Can you remember how love used to work before the internet? 💞
Spontaneous real-life meetings (the ones that might eventually end-up on long-lasting marriage) seems like stories we can only find on a Netflix catalogue. But on today’s #magazinemonday publication, our liquid love society disintegrates with the first issue of Meantime Magazine: a collection of love stories from Singapore’s past. Mixing different types of paper, unique Japanese bookbinding and many printed surprises along the way, this magazine is just as beautiful as the stories it tells. Memories are revisited and shared by ordinary people that lived in the country, each one going back to a different time-frame of Singapore’s history. Forbidden love, arranged marriage, and love-at-first-sight are some of the topics you will find among the beautiful analogue family photographs.
We highly recommend reading it while listening to your favourite romantic playlist and taking some time to absorb every detail. You will definitely want to give a call to your grandparents to hear about how they met after that.
Meantime will be joining us at this year’s edition of Indiecon. Save the date on the event (https://www.facebook.com/events/1280650965429349/) and come by to see the publication at hand! 🌈 Title: Meantime Subtitle: Issue #1: Love Language: English Publisher: Self-published Editorial office: Singapore Topics: History, love, current affairs First edition & publication frequency: 2019; Published annually Copy price: 30 Singapore dollars (S$30)/£16.00/€20/US$22 Subscription price: N.A.
