As part of the 50th anniversary of Colleges Ontario, the organization has launched the William G. Davis Fund contest which awards money to aspiring visionaries, artists, humanitarians or entrepreneurs, such as Angela Lavallee, who want to leverage their college education to start something amazing. First place gets $15,000 towards their project; second place gets $5,000. Voting is open to the public until the end of July. Durham College has three entries in the running -- one of them is "Indigi Rides" by Lavallee, which aims to breakdown stigmas associated with members of Indigenous community. Her project would use the funds to produce a TV series, similar to MTV’s popular Pimp My Ride. July 12, 2017.
