Do you follow the DR light novels? If so what do you make of them?
I don't, no, though I have read some summaries. My impression of them is that they're really over the top (unnecessarily and unrealistically so, perhaps), but they seem like they were a lot of fun to write and exciting for the target audience to read!
For me, with the exception of when I'm sleep deprived, I'm prone to calling things melodramatic haha... I feel like the light novels would fall victim to that if I read them...
#danganronpa#I found the yakou furio short story prequel to rain code to be a generally enjoyable read though#it was written by one of the V3 FTE/Love Hotel writers who also worked on DRS so I guess they had experience working with mister kodaka#same person helped with killer killer too#but for the DR LNs in general I just feel kinda like. even in a reality so distant from ours..#what human would even think of that??? (aside from an author meticulously planning out the plot)#that murder scheme or that ploy or that deduction.. from what I've read it all seems ridiculous. but maybe that's meant to be the fun part#reading people playing at looking smart by putting unsolvable riddles in their characters' hands... (<- I might be a hypocrite)#inhuman levels of perception and intelligence to cover up an author's own shortcomings and inability to devise something truly creative...#(In other news please look forward to Resolute Rebellion)#(I say these things because I truly believe I've achieved something greater with that. arrogant as it may sound)#(I've but dipped a toe into the sciences while writing it and created something I feel is truly wonderful from just that :)#(Perhaps I have a number of scientific papers and educational videos on highly specialized subjects to thank for it)
