From L’selle:
The hell's that accent? Not Ishgardian.
I ain't takin' orders today.
Bet she'd stand in the rain just to see what it felt like.
No more mugs?
Shit. All aboard!
She steal them things from Rothe? I should do that.
Icey.
Yeah, okay.
Her brother gonna show up soon?
Hands up, drink up, sky's up! We all fall down.
She’s fast as a bolt.
Let’s get breakfast in you.
No more of that.
Coming from the man who's just an absolute mess of cultures: Serella's a mess too. He likes that abt her. What he doesn't like is that she outranks him (not difficult to do) in the Maelstrom. That muddled his willingness to interact w her at first--plus he focused too much on her tendency for reflection than on her more prevalent spontaneity. He felt better when it turned out she knew the difference between a main and mizzen. Also that she has a terrible affinity for puns. Language is supposed to be disrespected.
He thinks it's a bit of a shame that she picked Ishgard over Gridania orLimsa, but he tries to be understanding. Ul'dah is off the table at least. And he's gonna ignore the paladin thing bc paladins are self-righteous, not v helpful, and hella lame bc of that. Vigilante-ish justice helps no one if it's for reputation and tradition, esp from someone who looks for trouble when one isn't in it. And the WoL thing? It makes his head hurt to conceptualize.
So there's a lot he has to forget abt Serella. She's considerate and fun to be around--mostly at a surface level for him at first, though he treasures her. Until she gets more comfortable and becomes more vulnerable, plus once she stows her knee-kick tendency to accommodate others for a a real investment in him--whether that's with or without argument or discomfort--he can't and doesn't want to try inviting her to smth like his nameday party, which is p tight-knit lmfao. She can come over for All Saint's Wake though.
