How To Prepare Your Household Or Business For The Solar Installation
As solar power demand increases, more homeowners and businesses take the initiative to switch to solar. Successful prepping of the property guarantees a flawless and hassle-free installation process. Continue reading to learn some tips to prepare your house before your first solar installation.
Evaluating Your Roof
The roof is the most important area for implementing the solar energy system. Hence, it becomes essential to examine its current condition and capability. Check the age, material and integrity of your roof. Asphalt, metal and tile roofs are suitable for solar rooftops. Angles and obstructions can be, sometimes, complicated and require custom mountings.
In addition to that, experts also encourage assessing your roof's direction and slope. South-facing roofs with a pitch angle between 15-40 degrees provide the best exposure to the sun. With advanced technology, we are still able to get considerable savings even with less-than-perfect conditions.
Upgrading Your Electrical System
Your solar energy company will take an evaluation and will suggest some improvements to make room for solar. Take into account your current electrical usage, panel size, and whether you have proper wiring and circuit breakers.
Many older homes may have panels with 100-amp breakers that cannot handle a solar array. Go for an upgrade which is having a 200-amp service. It provides enough room for your system and future needs. Your Solar Leasing Company in Pakistan or UAE can do a survey and help with any required wiring work.
Solar panels produce DC (direct current) electricity which is subsequently converted to AC (alternating current). This conversion powers your house or company. Talk to your installer about inverter variants and placement.
Improving Energy Efficiency
Before you install solar panels on your property, improving the overall efficiency of your property should be your priority. This, thereby, lessens the load on electric power and enables a smaller, more economical solar set-up.
Critical efficiency enhancements include sealing air leaks, upgrading lighting and appliances, improving insulation, and utilization of smart technologies. This further upgrade enables receiving additional rebates and incentives as well.
Clearing Potential Obstructions
Inspect your roof and property for any obstructions that could impact solar panel performance, such as:
● Shades from trees, buildings, or other structures protect us from hot sun rays.
● Smoke chimneys, exhausts, above-the-roof skylights or machinery on the roof.
Exploring Financing Options
Initially buying solar panels can be high, but further options for financing do exist. A solar lease company enables you to start a solar energy system with a low down payment. You would instead pay a monthly fixed rate for the generated electricity.
The outright purchase is another option, where tax credits, rebates, and other incentives balance off the initial expenditure. A majority of solar providers provide funding alternatives, for instance, no-interest loans and leases.
Research every option available and run a long-term savings calculator to be able to pick out the best option.
Conclusion
Before you start working with solar power, you need to pass inspections and receive permits from the local authorities. Your solar panel company should guide you through this process, which often includes. You need good preparation to be able to succeed in your solar project.
Appraisal of your roof condition, increasing efficiency, and investigating financing options is a good starting point. You can make the transition to renewable energy smooth. Contact a trusted solar provider to begin.

Undocumented Kids Are Saved By Obamas Executive Order Daca Which Would Put A Halt To Deportation For Those Whod Entered The Country Before Age 16 And Yet In A Bid To Get The Gop To Come Over To His Side On Immigration Reform The President Has Also Deported A Record 15 Million People In His First Term
A Family Caught in Immigration Limbo
When Belsy Garcia saw her mother’s number appear on her iPhone on the afternoon of June 15, she felt what she calls the “uncomfortable fluttering” sensation in her chest. She knew that daytime calls signaled an emergency. The worst one had come the previous year, when her sister told her ICE agents had placed their father in federal custody.
Garcia was attending Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, when her father was marched out of her childhood home. As an undocumented immigrant — like both of her parents, who are from Guatemala — she couldn’t qualify for loans. She financed her education through scholarships and a stipend she earned as a residential assistant. Now she wondered if her mother was calling to say her father had been deported, which might force her to leave school to become the family’s breadwinner.
But this call was different. “Go turn on the television,” Garcia’s mother said. “You’re going to be able to work, get a driver’s license.”
Onscreen, President Obama was announcing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. Undocumented immigrants who had arrived in the United States as children could apply for Social Security numbers and work permits. Garcia qualified: Her parents had brought her to this country when she was 7 years old. DACA transformed her into a premed student who could actually become a doctor. “It was like this weight was lifted,” she says. “All of that hard work was going to pay off.”

The first woman to argue a case before the Supreme Court did so in 1880. It would take another 101 years for a woman to sit on that bench rather than stand before it. Even then, progress was fitful. Over the 12 years that Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg served together, their identities evidently merged; lawyers regularly addressed Ginsburg as “Justice O’Connor.” When O’Connor retired in 2006, she left the faux Justice O’Connor feeling lonely. Ruth Bader Ginsburg warned of something far more alarming: What the public saw on entering the court were “eight men of a certain size, and then this little woman sitting to the side.” They might well represent the most eminent legal minds in America. But there was something antiquated, practically mutton-choppy, about that portrait.
How many female justices would be sufficient? Nine, says Justice Ginsburg, noting that no one ever raised an eyebrow at the idea of nine men.

For me, it’s one moment. All the bridesmaids have come to the fancy bridal shop to see Maya Rudolph try on wedding dresses. This should be a familiar scene: The bride emerges from the changing room and … This is the dress! The friends clap. The mother cries. Everyone is a princess. Go ahead and twirl!
But when the bride emerges in Bridesmaids, almost all of her friends have started to feel sick. Sweat coats their skin. Red splotches creep over their faces. They try to “ooh” and “aah,” but it’s already too late. It starts with a gag from Melissa McCarthy, followed by another gag. Then a gag that comes simultaneously with a tiny wet fart. It’s the smallness of the fart that’s important here. It’s the kind of fart that slips out — a fart that could be excused away, a brief, incongruous accident. Women don’t fart in wedding movies, and women certainly don’t fart at the exact moment that the bride comes out in her dress. This can’t be happening. Melissa McCarthy blames the fart on the tightness of her dress. We breathe a sigh of relief.
Then sweet Ellie Kemper gags, and the sound effect is surprisingly nasty. Ellie’s face is gray. Melissa’s face is red. They look bad. They are embarrassed. How far is this going to go?
The camera cuts. We are above now. We look down from a safe perch as the release we have been anticipating and dreading begins. It is horribly, earth-shatteringly gross. A woman has just pooped in a sink. The revolution has begun.

“The president was very clear with us that he only wanted to do stuff that would fundamentally change the way they did business. And that’s what we did. There were enormous changes. For example, General Motors had something like 300 different job classifications that the union had. If you were assigned to put the windshield wipers on, you couldn’t put tires on. And we wiped all that stuff out. We basically gave back management the freedom to manage, to hire, to fire. People stopped getting paid even when they were on layoff. We reduced the number of car plants so that there wasn’t so much overcapacity. So now, when you have 16 million cars sold , they’re making a fortune.”

What Is the Point of a Quantified Self?
Melissa Dahl: The Fitbit was introduced at a tech conference eight years ago. It’s kind of incredible to realize that, before then, this idea of the “quantified self” didn’t really exist in the mainstream.
Jesse Singal: I feel like it’s the intersection of all these different trends: Everyone plays video games these days. You got smartphones everywhere. And people are realizing that solutions to the big problems that lead to sleeplessness and anxiety and bad eating — unemployment and income inequality and yada yada yada — aren’t gonna get solved anytime soon.
MD: That’s interesting, because all of this self-tracking is also, according to some physicians, giving people more anxiety! A Fitbit-induced stress vortex.
Cari Romm: It feels like productive stress, though. I’m talking as a recovered Fitbit obsessive, but it does make you look at Fitbit-less people like, “You mean you don’t care how many steps you took today?”
MD: Oh, God. I don’t care. Should I care? Sleep is the one thing I obsessed over for a while. Which does not really help one get to sleep.
JS: Do you think an actually good and not obsession-inducing sleep app could help, though?
MD: There’s some aspect to the tracking idea that really does work. I mean, it’s just a higher-tech version of a food journal or sleep journal, right? Ben Franklin 300 years ago was tracking his 13 “personal virtues” in his diary.
JS: Would Ben Franklin have been an insufferable tech-bro?
Officer Darren Wilson Fatally Shoots Michael Brownin The St Louis Suburb Of Ferguson Sparking A National Protest Movement And Setting Off Unrest That Will Remain Unresolved Two Years Later
On the Triumph of Black Culture in the Age of Police Shootings
In the two years since Mike Brown was fatally shot by the police in Ferguson, and the video footage of his dead body in the street went viral, we have seen the emergence of a perverse dichotomy on our screens and in our public discourse: irrefutable evidence of grotesquely persistent racism, and irrefutable evidence of increasing black cultural and political power. This paradox is not entirely new, of course — America was built on a narrative of white supremacy, and black Americans have simultaneously continued to make vast and essential contributions to the country’s prominence—but it has become especially pronounced. And it’s not just because of the internet and social media, or the leftward shift of the culture, or black America’s being sick and tired of being sick and tired. In fact, it is all of these things, not least two terms with a black president. In the same way that black skin signals danger to the police , his black skin, to black people, signaled black cultural preservation. African-Americans didn’t see a black man as the most powerful leader in the free world; we saw the most powerful leader in the free world as black. This is what comedian Larry Wilmore was expressing at the 2016 White House Correspondents’ Dinner when he said, “Yo, Barry, you did it, my nigga.” It was a moment of unadulterated black pride.

“I Know I Let Everybody Down”
“Before the debate, David Plouffe and I went in to talk to him and give him a pep talk and he said, ‘Let’s just get this over with and get out of here,’ which is not what you want to hear from your candidate right before the debate. We knew within ten minutes that it was going to be a debacle. We had armed him with a joke — it was his 20th anniversary, and he addressed Michelle — and it turns out Romney was expecting just such a line and had a really great comeback. And Romney was excellent — just free and easy and clearly well prepared and showed personality that people hadn’t seen before. Obama looked like he was at a press conference.
We had a meeting at the White House and he said, ‘I know I let everybody down and that’s on me, and I’m not going to let that happen again,’ and that was his attitude. We always had debate camps before, where we’d re-create in hotel ballrooms what the set would look like, and all of the conditions of the real debate. When we went down to Williamsburg, Virginia, for the next debate camp, he seemed really eager to engage in the prep. We had a decent first night. That was on Saturday. On Sunday night, Kerry, playing Romney, got a little more aggressive and Obama a little less so; it looked very much like what we had seen in Denver. It was like he’d taken a step back.
Scott Brown Is Elected Massachusetts Senatorturning Ted Kennedys Seat Republican For The First Time Since 1952 And Suddenly Throwing The Prospect Of Passing Obamacare Into Jeopardy
Plan B
“I’m talking to Rahm and Jim Messina and saying, ‘Okay, explain to me how this happened.’ It was at that point that I learned that our candidate, Martha Coakley, had asked rhetorically, ‘What should I do, stand in front of Fenway and shake hands with voters?’ And we figured that wasn’t a good bellwether of how things might go.
This might have been a day or two before the election, but the point is: There is no doubt that we did not stay on top of that the way we needed to. This underscored a failing in my first year, which was the sort of perverse faith in good policy leading to good politics. I’ll cut myself some slack — we had a lot to do, and every day we were thinking, Are the banks going to collapse? Is the auto industry going to collapse? Will layoffs accelerate? We just didn’t pay a lot of attention to politics that first year, and the loss in Massachusetts reminded me of what any good president or elected official needs to understand: You’ve got to pay attention to public opinion, and you have to be able to communicate your ideas. But it happened, and the question then was, ‘What’s next?’
Sheryl Sandbergs Lean In Hits Bookstores Making The Feminist Case That Women Should Be More Aggressive And Ambitious In Their Careers And Making Feminists Themselves Very Angry
The “Mommy Wars” Finally Flame Out
After decades of chilly backlash, we find ourselves, these past eight years, in an age of feminist resurgence, with feminist websites and publications and filmmakers and T-shirts and pop singers and male celebrities and best-selling authors and women’s soccer teams. Of course, as in every feminist golden age, there has also been dissent: furious clashes over the direction and quality of the discourse, especially as the movement has become increasingly trendy, shiny, and celebrity-backed.
Perhaps the most public feminist conflagration of the Obama years came at the nexus of policy and celebrity, of politics and pop power. It was the furor over Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, who gave a viral 2010 TED Talk about women in the workplace who “leave before they leave” — who alter their professional strategy to accommodate a future they assume will be compromised by parenthood — which led to the publication of her 2013 feminist business manifesto, Lean In.
It’s a lesson of the Obama era: One approach to redressing inequality does not have to blot out the others. Sometimes, attacking from all angles is the most effective strategy.

“The Concept of Dignity Really Matters”
“I was given an enormous degree of latitude. I did communicate with the White House counsel on occasion about high-profile cases, but it was much more in the nature of just giving them a heads-up, to calm any nervous feelings they might have. There’s only one exception to that, and it was on marriage equality, in the Hollingsworth v. Perry case in 2013. We were contemplating coming in and arguing that it was unconstitutional for California to refuse to recognize the legal validity of same-sex marriages. But we didn’t have to do it . And because it was a discretionary judgment, and it was such a consequential step, that was the one matter where I really sought out the president’s personal guidance. I wanted to make sure the president had a chance to thoroughly consider what we should do before we did it. It was really one of the high points of my tenure. It was a wide-ranging conversation about doctrinal analysis, about where society was now, about social change and whether it should go through the courts or through the majoritarian process, about the pace of social change, about the significance of the right at stake. He was incredibly impressive.
A Golf Summit Between John Boehner And Barack Obama Stirs Hopethat Perhaps The Two Parties Will Come To A Budget Agreement And Forestall A True Crisis Secret And Semi
A Grand Bargain That Wasn’t, Remembered Three Ways
“The president of the United States and the Speaker of the House, the two most powerful elected officials in Washington, decided in a conversation that they both had to try to make something happen. Maybe it would be the way it worked in a West Wing episode in a world that doesn’t work like a West Wing episode. That’s how it started — two individuals saying we’re going to try. I think they both shared a belief in the art of the possible, and they both did not think compromise was a dirty word.
When our cover was blown — a Wall Street Journal editorial came out saying that Boehner and Obama were working on this and attacking the whole premise — that was devastating. It resulted in Cantor being a part of the talks. Cantor and Boehner came in, and I think it was a weekend private session with the president in the Oval Office, and they were talking about the numbers. At one point Cantor said, ‘Listen, it’s not just the numbers. There’s concern that this will help you politically. Paul Ryan said if we do this deal, it will guarantee your reelection. If we agree with Barack Obama on spending and taxes, that takes away one of our big weapons.’ There were so many obstacles, some of them substantive — how much revenue, and what about the entitlements? — but there was also this overlay of ‘This is going to help Obama.’

Lane Brown: Michael Jackson’s death was a big deal for lots of obvious reasons, including the surprising way it happened and the fact that he was arguably the most famous person on the planet.
Nate Jones: He was an A-lister with an indisputable body of work; he was 50 years old, his hits were the right age — old enough that every generation knew them, but not too old that they weren’t relevant anymore.
LB: But it was also the first huge celebrity death to happen in the age of social media, or at least the age of Twitter.
NJ: MJ’s death came alongside the protests in Iran, which was when Twitter went mainstream.
LB: It also meant that so much of the instant reaction was to make it all about us.
Frank Guan: In a lot of ways, the culture prefers the death of artists to their continuing to live. Once an artist gets launched into the stratosphere, there’s no way to come down, and that permanence becomes monotonous. They run out of timely or groundbreaking material and the audience starts tuning out. At some point, their fame eclipses their art, and then the only way to get the general audience to appreciate them anew is for them to die.
LB: People seem to like the grieving process so much that even lesser celebrities get the same treatment.

A Rare Moment of Unity
“I was doing intensive rehabilitation in Houston at the time but was following the debate closely, and I was pretty disappointed at what was happening in Washington. I’d seen the debate grow so bitter and divisive and so full of partisan rancor. And I was worried our country was hurtling toward a disastrous, self-inflicted economic crisis. That morning, when it became clear the vote was going to be close, my husband, Mark, and I knew we needed to get to Washington quickly. I went straight from my rehabilitation appointment to the airport, and Mark was at our house in Houston packing our bags so he could meet us at the plane.
That night, I remember seeing the Capitol for the first time since I was injured and feeling so grateful to be at work. I will never forget the reception I received on the floor of the House from my colleagues, both Republicans and Democrats. And then, like I had so many times before, I voted.
I worked so hard to get my speech back, and honestly, talking to people who share my determination helped me find my words again. I’ve been to Alaska, Maine, and everywhere in between. Best of all, I got back on my bike. Riding my bike once seemed like such a huge challenge. It seemed impossible.”

Prior To Going To War In Iraq Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld Optimistically Predicted The Iraq War Might Last Six Days Six Weeks I Doubt Six Months
What’s more, Vice-President Dick Cheney said we would be greeted as liberators by the Iraqi people after we overthrow Saddam.
They were both horribly wrong. Instead of six weeks or six months, the Iraq war lasted eight long and bloody years costing thousands of American lives. It led to an Iraqi civil war between the Sunnis and the Shiites that took hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives. Many Iraqi militia groups were formed to fight against the U.S. forces that occupied Iraq. What’s more, Al Qaeda, which did not exist in Iraq before the war, used the turmoil in Iraq to establish a new foothold in that country.
The Iraq war was arguably the most tragic foreign policy blunder in US history.

The most optimistic predictions say that the Keystone Pipeline would only create a few dozen long-term jobs and would do nothing to lower the price of gasoline.
Eric Cantors Stunning Primary Loss Suggests No Politician Is Safe From The Rage Of The Tea Party Not Even The Tea Partys Canniest Political Leader
From Party’s Future to Also-Ran in a Single Day
On the day his political career died, Eric Cantor was busy tending to what he still believed was its bright future. While his GOP-primary opponent, David Brat, visited polling places in and around Richmond, Virginia, Cantor spent his morning 90 miles away at a Capitol Hill Starbucks. He was there to host a fund-raiser for three of his congressional colleagues — something he did every month, just another part of the long game he was playing, which, he believed, would eventually culminate in his becoming Speaker of the House.
The preceding five years had brought Cantor tantalizingly closer to that goal. In the immediate aftermath of Obama’s election, he’d rallied waffling House Republicans to stand in lockstep opposition to the new president’s agenda. In 2010, he’d helped elect 87 new Republican members, giving the GOP a House majority and making Cantor the House majority leader. He became the champion of these freshmen members, stoking their radicalism during the debt-ceiling fight and working to undermine Obama and John Boehner’s attempt to strike a “grand bargain.” His alliance with the ascendant tea party was strategic — it gave him leverage not only over Obama but over other Republicans who might also have had aspirations of becoming Speaker. It never occurred to him that the wave he was trying to ride might crash on him instead.
In 1993 When Bill Clinton Raised Taxes On The Wealthiest 15% Republicans Predicted A Recession Increased Unemployment And A Growing Budget Deficit
They weren’t just wrong: The exact opposite of everything they predicted happened. The country experienced the seven best years of economic growth in history.
Twenty-two million new jobs were added.
Unemployment dropped below 4%.
The poverty rate dropped for seven straight years.
The budget deficit was eliminated.
There was a growing budget surplus that economists projected could pay off our national debt in 20 years.
Republicans Predicted That We Would Find Iraqs Weapons Of Mass Destruction Even Though Un Weapons Inspectors Said That Those Weapons Didn’t Exist
The Bush administration continued to insist that WMDs would be found, even when the CIA said some of the evidence was questionable. As we all know, the WMDs predicted by the Bush administration did not exist, and Saddam Hussein had not resumed his nuclear weapons program as they claimed. Ultimately, both President Bush and Vice President Cheney had to admit that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
Republicans Predicted That President Obamas Tax Increase For The Top 1% In 2013 Would Kill Jobs Increase The Deficit And Cause Another Recession
You guessed it; just the opposite happened. In the four years following January 1, 2013, when that tax increase went into effect, through January 2017, unemployment dropped from 7.9% to 4.8%, an average of more than 200,000 new jobs were created per month, Wall Street set new record highs, and the budget deficit was cut in half.
Over 5.7 million new jobs were created in the first two years after that tax increase. That’s more jobs created in two years than were created during the combined 12 years of both Bush presidencies.
In 2001 When George W Bush Cut Taxes For The Wealthy Republicans Predicted Record Job Growth Increased Budget Surplus And Nationwide Prosperity
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once again, the exact opposite occurred. After the Bush tax cuts were enacted:
The budget surplus immediately disappeared.
The budget deficit eventually grew to $1.4 trillion by the time Bush left office.
Less than 3 million net jobs were added during Bush’s eight years.
The poverty rate began climbing again.
We experienced two recessions along with the greatest collapse of our financial system since the Great Depression.
In 1993, President Clinton signed the Brady Law mandating nationwide background checks and a waiting period to buy a gun.
Apple Announces That It Has Sold 100 Million Iphoneswithin A Few Months It Will Overtake Exxonmobil As The Most Valuable Company In The World
Earthlings Gain a New Appendage
What if we had the singularity and nobody noticed? In 2007, Barack Obama had been on the trail for weeks, using a BlackBerry like all the cool campaigners, when the new thing went on sale and throngs lined up for it. The new thing had a silly name: iPhone. The iPhone was a phone the way the Trojan horse was a horse.
Now it’s the gizmo without which a person feels incomplete. It’s a light in the darkness, a camera, geolocator, hidden mic, complete Shakespeare, stopwatch, sleep aid, heart monitor, podcaster, aircraft spotter, traffic tracker, all-around reality augmenter, and increasingly a pal. At the Rio Olympics you could see people, having flown thousands of miles to be in the arena with the athletes, watching the action through their smartphones. As though they needed the mediating lens to make it real.
This device, this gadget — a billion have been made and we scarcely know what to call it. For his 2010 novel of the near future, , Gary Shteyngart made up a word, “äppärät.” “My äppärät buzzing with contacts, data, pictures, projections, maps, incomes, sound, fury.” Future then, present now. His äppäräti were worn around the neck on pendants. Ours are in our pockets when they aren’t in our hands, but they also sprout earbuds, morph into wristwatches and eyeglasses. Contact lenses have been rumored; implants are only a matter of time.
Let’s face it, we’ve grown a new organ.
Republicans Said Waterboarding And Other Forms Of Enhanced Interrogation Are Not Torture And Are Necessary In Fighting Islamic Extremism
In reality, waterboarding and other forms of enhanced interrogation that inflict pain, suffering, or fear of death are outlawed by US law, the US Constitution, and international treaties. Japanese soldiers after World War II were prosecuted by the United States for war crimes because of their use of waterboarding on American POWs.
Professional interrogators have known for decades that torture is the most ineffective and unreliable method of getting accurate information. People being tortured say anything to get the torture to end but will not likely tell the truth.
An FBI interrogator named Ali Soufan was able to get al Qaeda terrorist Abu Zubaydah to reveal crucial information without the use of torture. When CIA interrogators started using waterboarding and other enhanced interrogation methods, Zubaydah stopped cooperating and gave his interrogators false information.
Far from being necessary in the fight against terrorism, torture is completely unreliable and counter-productive in obtaining useful information.
In 2008 Republicans Said That If We Elect A Democratic President We Would Be Hit By Al Qaeda Again Perhaps Worse Than The Attack On 9/11
Former Vice-President Dick Cheney stated that electing a Democrat as president would all but guarantee that there would be another major attack on America by Al Qaeda. Cheney and other Republicans were, thankfully, completely wrong. During Obama’s presidency, we had zero deaths on U.S. soil from Al Qaeda attacks and we succeeded in killing Bin Laden along with dozens of other high ranking Al Qaeda leaders.

Explaining Kale
ADAM PLATT: Many things in Foodlandia, these days, have a political element to them, and if you want to emblazon a flag to be carried into battle, you could do worse than a bristly, semi-digestible bunch of locally grown kale.
ALAN SYTSMA: To eat kale is to announce you’re a person who cares about the matters of the day.
AP: The idea of kale is much more powerful than kale itself. In short order it went from being discovered, to appreciated, to being something that was parodied. Frankly, I’m all for the parody.
AS: The same thing happened to pork. Remember bacon peanut brittle? Bacon-fat cocktails? There’s bacon dental floss.
AP: Ahhh, bacon versus kale. The two great, competing forces of our time.
AS: Do you think one gave way to the other?
AP: What we’re really talking about is artisanal bacon, and the more sophisticated-sounding pork belly, made from pigs that were lovingly reared at upstate farms and fed diets of pristine little acorns. Bacon is the great symbol in the comfort-food, farm-fresh-dining movement, a kind of merry, unbridled pulchritude. Kale is the righteous yin to pork’s fatty, non-vegan yang.
AS: But pork has an advantage: People like the way it tastes.
AP: That’s a huge advantage, one that will hopefully see it through to victory.

List of Solar Companies in Pakistan
Solar energy has been in use for over a half-century now as a renewable source and hope to create a better future by generating clean electricity. Over time, more people have started relying on the Sun’s ability to power their homes and businesses since they have realized the importance of solar system installation and the need to save our earth from the pollution that fossil fuels produce. With the advancement in technology, solar panels have become more efficient and less expensive which has increased the number of people who are going solar for their and the Earth’s better future. With the increase in people interested in using solar power systems, the number of solar companies providing services has also amplified.
After extensive research, we have gathered a list of solar companies in Pakistan and compared their profiles, services, areas of operations, and reviews, so you know the best company to get solar solutions from.
Reon Energy Limited
Reon Energy is a part of Dawood Hercules Corporation and was started in 2012 with the head office based in Karachi. Reon has expanded with time, opening offices and services in other major cities of Lahore and Islamabad as well. Reon is one of the leaders in the sustainable energy market with a list of completed projects and the aim to be a Rs. 10 billion company by 2020.
Area of Operations
Reon Energy is a giant when it comes to industrial solar installations. Their focus of operations since it was founded has been the industrial sector, installing a massive project of 12.5MW at Fauji Cement Company Limited. Reon is currently not providing services to the residential sector which makes its area of expertise limited to the industrial installations of solar panels.

SkyElectric was founded by Ashar Aziz, former board of chairman and founder of a cybersecurity company FireEye. Ashar has been awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his services in the IT Industry. His expertise enabled SkyElectric to produce its very own Smart Solar System which no other solar company in Pakistan has done. SkyElectric also provides its cloud service to their consumer for the management of its solar system.
Area of Operations
With lots of innovation and their system, SkyElectric stepped into the market providing services to both commercial and residential clients. Their area of focus however is the domestic sector. They have completed a 1MW project and several other commercial projects with lower capacities. They have not much experience in providing services to the industrial sector.
Customer Support and Maintenance
SkyElectric facilitates its customers with good support and maintenance services. They have their networking center which is operating 24/7 to monitor the solar systems of businesses and customers who opt for this service.

Pantera Energy Limited
Pantera Energy Limited was founded and started its operation in 2013. The company also gained recognition for its program of planting trees for every installation project they get.
Area of Operations
Pantera Energy has been focusing on residential and commercial projects. They have completed many domestic projects in Lahore, Islamabad, and Sialkot. The biggest project they have ever done is of 150 KW, however, the company has the talent to grow and do more projects.

Pakistan Solar Services
Paksolar is a tier 2 company that has been providing services to industrial, commercial, residential, and agricultural sectors as well. Paksolar stands out from other tier 2 companies because it offers wind energy solutions in addition to solar solutions. Paksolar, however, has never completed any big industrial project.
Area of Operations
Most of the work Paksolar has done so far is in residential and agricultural setup, however, when it comes to the industrial sector, their biggest project so far is of 60 KW. They also offer street light operations.

Author’s Choice:
In my opinion, Premier Energy is the best possible choice for an all-round operation since they have experience working in every sector. They have worked in residential, agricultural, commercial as well as the Industrial sector. SkyElectric is good however, they are quite young in experience when it comes to bigger projects and Reon Energy lacks expertise in smaller residential systems of 3-30 KWs. Their focus and expertise lie in the industrial sector while Premier Energy is like an old monk who has lots of experience in every field or is like a jack of all trades.
Pantera and Paksolar are good options, however, everyone wants to choose the best solar company for their project. The first three are the best in the field and my personal best goes to Premier Energy for their over the top quality, all-round services, affordable price, satisfactory customer support, and maintenance services. Every Company has a goal and I believe that Premier Energy’s goal to empower Pakistan is the greatest of all.

Headlines
UN calls for global cease-fire (Foreign Policy) United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for a global cease-fire in order for countries to focus on the coronavirus pandemic. “End the sickness of war and fight the disease that is ravaging our world,” he said. “It starts by stopping the fighting everywhere. Now. That is what our human family needs, now more than ever.”
Lost jobs, income, and mortgages (Wall Street Journal) Mortgage companies are bracing for a severe cash crunch when Americans who lose jobs and income because of the coronavirus pandemic stop making payments on their home loans. The companies expect a wave of missed payments from borrowers as early as next month that will force them to come up with tens of billions of dollars on short notice.
US airline shutdown coming? (Wall Street Journal) Major U.S. airlines are drafting plans for a potential voluntary shutdown of virtually all passenger flights across the U.S., according to industry and federal officials, as government agencies also consider ordering such a move and the nation’s air-traffic control system continues to be ravaged by the coronavirus contagion. No final decisions have been made by the carriers or the White House, these officials said.
Trump Weighs Rollback of Lockdown Measures as Economy Worsens (Foreign Policy) At a White House briefing yesterday, U.S. President Donald Trump said that normal economic activity would resume in weeks, not months. “Our country was not built to be shut down,” Trump said, “This is not a country that was built for this. It was not built to be shut down.” His comments highlighted the growing friction between public health experts keen to halt the spread of the coronavirus and White House advisors who see the economy as the priority. “The president is right. The cure can’t be worse than the disease,” Larry Kudlow, the director of the National Economic Council said on Fox News on Monday, “And we’re going to have to make some difficult trade-offs.” Such sentiments are not limited to the White House. There is a growing chorus among conservatives and in mainstream publications calling for a rethink.
Britain Placed Under a Virtual Lockdown by Boris Johnson (NYT) Facing a growing storm of criticism about his laissez-faire response to the fast-spreading coronavirus, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Monday that he would place Britain under a virtual lockdown, closing all nonessential shops, banning meetings of more than two people, and requiring people to stay in their homes, except for trips for food or medicine. People who flout the new restrictions, the prime minister said, will be fined by the police.
With live sports gone, announcer offers play by play of the everyday (NYT) Freelance rugby announcer Nick Heath is filling a sports-sized void with short videos where he provides a running commentary on regular life in London. In one clip, four women walking with strollers are suddenly competing in the “international four-by-four pushchair formation final.” Pedestrians using a crosswalk are in the “2020 crossroad dash.” Each clip is an absurd delight that’s both funny and very British.
As Coronavirus Surveillance Escalates, Personal Privacy Plummets (NYT) In South Korea, government agencies are harnessing surveillance-camera footage, smartphone location data and credit card purchase records to help trace the recent movements of coronavirus patients and establish virus transmission chains.
In Lombardy, Italy, the authorities are analyzing location data transmitted by citizens’ mobile phones to determine how many people are obeying a government lockdown order and the typical distances they move every day. About 40 percent are moving around “too much,” an official recently said.
In Israel, the country’s internal security agency is poised to start using a cache of mobile phone location data--originally intended for counterterrorism operations--to try to pinpoint citizens who may have been exposed to the virus.
As countries around the world race to contain the pandemic, many are deploying digital surveillance tools as a means to exert social control, even turning security agency technologies on their own civilians. Health and law enforcement authorities are understandably eager to employ every tool at their disposal to try to hinder the virus--even as the surveillance efforts threaten to alter the precarious balance between public safety and personal privacy on a global scale.
Pakistan moves toward lockdown (Al Jazeera) Pakistan has moved closer to a countrywide lockdown to attempt to control the accelerating spread of coronavirus cases across the country, as cases hit more than 850 and doctors complain of dwindling personal protective kits. On Monday, a full lockdown went into effect in the southern city of Karachi, home to more than 20 million people, while Punjab province--home to almost half of Pakistan’s 207 million people--also announced widespread restrictions on public movement.
India orders 21-day lockdown (Foreign Policy) India, South Asia’s largest economy, has ground to a halt since the weekend. Authorities urged people to take curfew orders seriously, shutting down domestic commercial flights and rail services. In a televised address to the nation on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a strict 21-day nationwide lockdown. “If we are not able to manage the next 21 days, we will be pushed back by 21 years,” he warned. “For 21 days, forget what it means to step outside your home.”
Documents Show Modi Govt Building 360 Degree Database To Track Every Indian (Huffington Post) The Narendra Modi government is in the final stages of creating an all-encompassing, auto-updating, searchable database to track every aspect of the lives of each of India’s over 1.2 billion residents, previously undisclosed government documents reviewed by HuffPost India establish.
Reducing Afghan aid (NYT) The State Department said it was cutting $1 billion to Afghanistan this year, and potentially another $1 billion in 2021, after rival Afghan leaders failed to support a unified government. It’s a condition that U.S. diplomats consider crucial for peace talks.
China ends Wuhan restrictions (NYT) Officials in Wuhan, China, where the outbreak started, said today that public transportation would resume within 24 hours and that residents would be allowed to leave the city beginning April 8, as infections appeared to be dwindling.
Tokyo Olympics postponed to 2021 (AP) The IOC announced a first-of-its-kind postponement of the Summer Olympics on Tuesday, saying that the Tokyo Games “must be rescheduled to a date beyond 2020, but not later than summer 2021, to safeguard the health of the athletes, everybody involved in the Olympic Games and the international community.”
Libya becomes theatre for drone combat (Guardian) The blind eye the western world is turning to Libya has allowed it to become the world’s main theatre of drone combat, with the UAE and Egypt introducing Chinese-made drones to the field of Middle Eastern warfare. Not only does this undercut America’s short-lived monopoly on military drone technology, it has also shown the world that Chinese drones, as well as other equipment such as guided artillery, are the cheap and effective alternative for proxy warfare. It is a foreboding symbol of the future of arms proliferation and the technological upgrade that smaller, regional conflicts are set to experience.
African finance ministers call for debt waiver (Foreign Policy) In a joint statement, African finance ministers called for $100 billion in stimulus to allow the continent to weather the dual storms of coronavirus and falling oil prices. The statement calls for a waiver on interest payments on public debt and sovereign bonds--a move that would free up $44 billion and “provide immediate fiscal space and liquidity to the governments in their efforts to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic,” the ministers said.
South Africa imposes lockdown (South China Morning Post) South Africa will impose a nationwide lockdown for three weeks as it tries to contain a surge in coronavirus cases, which on Monday jumped from 274 to 402 in a day. President Cyril Ramaphosa said it was “a decisive measure to save millions of South Africans from infection and save the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.” The country’s 56 million people have been told to “stay at home” from midnight on Thursday until midnight on April 16 “to prevent a human catastrophe of enormous proportions in our country.”

In 2011, Eric Ries made a big splash in Silicon Valley with his book “The Lean Startup: How Today's Entrepreneurs Use Continuous Innovation to Create Radically Successful Businesses.” He defines “startup” rather loosely (“an organization dedicated to creating something new under conditions of extreme uncertainty”) and encourages organizations of all sizes to avoid creating elaborate business plans and instead work “to test their vision continuously, to adapt and adjust…” This is almost precisely the same argument made by NYU economist William Easterly in his controversial 2007 bestseller, “The White Man’s Burden: Why West’s Efforts to Aid the Rest Have Done So Much Ill and So Little Good,” which is a direct assault on traditional development economics, the very field he has dedicated his life to. For the past half century, he argues, development economics has been beholden to a “legend”, a legend he once very much believed in: That poverty traps constrain impoverished nations and these poverty traps can be overcome with a “Big Push” – massive Western foreign aid packages and tops-down plans for eradicating poverty, disease, and illiteracy, while promoting various forms of economic growth. This attempt at a big fix – massive programs of aid with lofty goals but little accountability – has been the world of classically trained development economists, who he derisively dubs “The Planners.” They think they have the answers, he says, and rhetorically they have the advantage because they promise great things, such as “the end of poverty.” Reality, however, is much different according Easterly. There are no easy answers. “The only Big Plan is to discontinue the Big Plans,” he says. “The only Big Answer is that there is no Big Answer.” The promises of the Planners, such as his professional rival Jeffrey Sachs, “shows all the pretensions of utopian social engineering,” he writes rather caustically. Yet they flourish in a world without feedback or accountability, and where big plans and big promises play well with politicians and celebrities. Nobody (especially those with no direction connection to the problems) wants to promote small but achievable objectives. They want “to do something” – and do it big. Easterly claims that the West, perhaps innocently and unintentionally, has written itself into the hero role in saving the uncivilized world. Indeed, he writes, “…the development expert…is the heir to the missionary and the colonial officer.” In contrast to the Planners, the author encourages those who want to help to “think small”: the little answers that work and that can make a material, if not revolutionary, difference on the lives of the impoverished. He calls these people, mostly locally-based activists, “The Searchers.” They possess an entrepreneurial and experimentation mindset, and naturally embrace the iterative testing model promoted by Ries in “The Lean Start Up.” They get regular feedback from the poor they serve and are held accountable for their work. They don’t promise to solve world hunger, but they often make incremental yet substantive impact where they work. “The dynamism of the poor at the bottom,” he writes, “has much more potential than plans at the top.” The book is broken into four parts, each of varying interest and value. The first part, “Why planners cannot bring prosperity” is dedicated to undermining the theory of the “Big Push,” which Easterly writes is demonstrably false. He claims that “Statistically, countries with high aid are no more likely to take off than are those with low aid – contrary to the Big Push idea.” Likewise, attempts to promote free markets from the top down, as is often the case with IMF and World Bank-led structural reforms, ambitious schemes to promote capitalist growth that Easterly admittedly once believed in wholeheartedly, are doomed to failure. The same goes for top down efforts to promote democracy, although he sees democracy as important because it can supply the two things most important for meaningful reform: feedback and accountability. In Part two, “Acting out the burden,” Easterly accentuates “The tragedy of poverty is that the poorest people in the world have no money or political power to motivate Searchers to address their desperate needs, while the rich can use their money and power through well-developed markets and accountable bureaucracies to address theirs.” He highlights the insanity of the international development industry, which he likes to repeat has pumped $2.3 trillion (yes, “trillion”) into the developing world since the end of World War II – and for what? He says. He cites Tanzania as a typical case study in development economics absurdity, as that country was forced to produce 2,400 reports and host over 1,000 donor visits in a single year. The author hammers home on his two main themes of feedback and accountability, noting what little input the poor actually have on the aid that they receive and that the Planners at the top are usually divorced from reality on the ground. Easterly writes that development aid is a classic “principle/agent” relationship, where the principle is a rich donor country and the agent is the aid agency. The actual target, the poor, are nowhere in the system of response. The principle wants to see big results, and yet is in no position to check on the work and achievements. The agents are thus cloaked in a sort of invisibility – and it’s under this invisibility, the author claims, that the Planners take over. The Planners thrive in the dark, Easterly says; the Searchers in direct light. The Planners benefit from the fact that there are so many aid agencies, all with very similar missions, all supposedly coordinating efforts, yet no single entity is ultimately accountable for achieving results. The smaller and more focused an NGO’s mandate, the better. Or, as Easterly complains, “If the aid business were not so beguiled by utopian visions, it could address a more realistic set of problems for which it had evidence of a workable solution.” If the aid agencies have failed because their mandates are too broad, what about the IMF, which has the relatively narrow mission of promoting “trade and currency stability”? Easterly argues that the IMF suffers from poor data, a misplaced one-size-fits-all approach, and is all too willing to forgive loans. What should be done? Simple, Easterly says, focus the IMF on emerging markets only and reserve the true bottom billion for aid agencies, thus removing the politically unpopular conditionality that has marked IMF interventions over the past several decades. Part 3, “The White Man’s Army,” is lengthy and the least insightful in the book. Easterly’s core message, as told through vignettes about Pakistan, the Congo, Sudan, India, and Palestine/Israel is that Western meddling with the Rest has been damaging, whether it was colonialism, de-colonialism or well-intentioned aid intervention. He further argues that US efforts to restructure societies via military force, either directly or through proxies, has all the hallmarks of utopian planner mentality, as suggested by case studies on Nicaragua, Angola and Haiti. In other words, neo-conservatives are the Right wing on “The Planner continuum”, with idealists like Sachs on the Left. In Part 4, “The Future,” Easterly argues that 60 years of Planners in control of the economic development agenda is enough. It is time to drop the utopian goals of eradicating poverty and transforming governments. “The Big Goals of the Big Plan distract everyone’s attention…” he writes. “The rich-country public has to live with making poor people’s lives better in a few concrete ways that aid agencies can actually achieve.” Even worse, he writes, “The Planners’ response to failure of previous interventions [has been] to do even more intensive and comprehensive interventions.” It is time to empower the Searchers, those who probe and experiment their way to success with modest efforts to make individuals better off, even if only marginally. As far as the aid agencies are concerned, Easterly recommends: 1) end the system of collective responsibility for multiple goals; 2) and instead encourage individual accountability for individual tasks; 3) promote aid agencies to specialize rather than having many all pursue significant goals; and 4) employ independent auditors of aid activities. The central theme developed by the author throughout this book is that aid agencies need to be constantly experimenting and searching for modest interventions that work. And they must employ more on-the-ground learning with deeply embedded staff. Thus, Easterly encourages the idea of “development vouchers” that would empower local communities to get the aid they most need from the agencies that are most effective. Theoretically, those agencies that either don’t deliver value and/or don’t deliver as promised would be put out of business. It’s a compelling idea that Easterly nevertheless stresses is no panacea. Easterly writes with a certain punch, which I’m sure ruffled more than a few feathers not only with his arguments but with his style, which can be cynical and snarky. For instance, when looking to catalog the redeeming benefits of U.S. interventions over the past several decades, he cites an “Explosion of Vietnamese restaurants in the United States” for Vietnam, “Black Hawk Down was a great book and movie” for Somalia, and “Salvadoran refugees became cheap housekeepers of desperate housewives” for El Salvador. He goes on to characterize U.S. Angolan ally Jonas Savimbi as “to democracy what Paris Hilton is to chastity.” Amusing commentary, for sure, although perhaps a bit misguided given the gravity of the subject matter. In closing, Easterly makes a compelling case to “go small” with development efforts and always seek feedback and accountability. He may not be on the Christmas card list of Bono and Angelina Jolie, but I’m afraid he is much more insightful and directionally correct than their hero, Jeffrey Sachs.

Hello my soon to be new friends. My name is Kelly Wayne Alma and I am from America. I started a non profit movement that helps the poor all over the world learn how to take advantage of the bitcoin explosion and earn FREE money online.....regardless of age, religion, education or any other of the human BULLSHIT that stops gods children from achieving true peace and unity.
*
Anyone ages 12 or older, with reasonable english skills outside of skype, can work with me directly to start building a brighter financial. future. Younger than that are also welcome, but out of respect I want to speak to their parents first. Explain the program and to what degree and purpose I will be engaged with their children. And, most important of all, to get their blessing.
*
This is no scam of the rich to take your money and keep you down...or some child's get rich quick fantasy. It takes time to build and a little effort online a few times a week...but IT DOES WORK. Poor people all over the world are ALREADY making a difference in their lives with cryptocurrencies. A few dozen from using my rough but VERY effective technique. TENS OF THOUSANDS more in other ways on their own.
*
I made, personally, made almost $35,000 USD last year in bitcoins. My first year dedicatedly involved, knowing almost NOTHING about crypto, and I started by earning A FEW PENNIES a day online from faucets and ptc. NOW I know alot more, found a few safe and good avenues, I want to share what I have learned with as many people as I possibly can how THEY can do it too FREE...WITH NO MONEY OUT OF POCKET. My NEW life goal is to make 100,000 poor families RICH before I die. Rich by GODS STANDARDS....not the standards of human greed!!!
*
I already have HUNDREDS of people from The Philippines and a couple dozen other countries interested in TCC and I have initiated an OUTREACH PROGRAM I tentatively labeled "THE FAMILY ENRICHMENT PROGRAM", but I am having a MAJOR PROBLEM in The Philippines and surrounding regions that I cant solve, alone, from the United States. Many of the sites I use that the poor would need to use are blocked(possibly by local governments I think) and I need to find new sites that are comparable.
*
I need volunteers, in multiple cities/villages/ regions and from different countries, like The Philippines, Romania, Moldovia, Ukraine, South America, Korea, India, Pakistan, Iran and similar locations to help me run a few localized tests that will allow me to develop dedicated "earning lists" according to country and region. This process, and the resulting lists, will allow the poor all over the world to start earning A LITTLE free money online, then invest those few pennies to build a long term residual income that WILL lead to an unbelievable amount of FREE MONEY coming in DAILY within a year. Two if you slack off a bit😁😁👍
*
This testing process will cost you ABSOLUTELY NOTHING EVER but a few minutes a day. You can even do it from home while spending some quality family time...and IT WILL EVEN PROVIDE a small but reliable additional daily income fairly quickly that could be used as a holiday recovery fund, vacation fund , or whatever.
*
Ideally would be to put together small groups(8-12) of friends or family working together, with AT LEAST ONE being able to speak read and write fairly good English, acting as a "leader" to interact with me for tutorial purposes. These first few groups would help solidify a localized process that the poor ALL OVER THE WORLD can use to start building a new financial future.
*
This is also A GREAT OPPORTUNITY for anyone that could use an easy and LONG TERM RESIDUAL income to GET PAID TO HELP THE POOR in their communities by "taking it into the streets". Teach others what I teach you and earn an extra income from the residual referral commissions that the investment sites pay members for bringing in new investors.
*
I am also looking for some volunteers who are fairly skilled in the English language to periodically translate items into their native language for me...and, when the time is right, to help me with placing some localized advertising in order to spread awareness of TCC and its goals. Professional services(share plans only please) in the areas of website creation and management, app and bot development, program development and management, and more.
*
For the more financially secure looking for a SAFE INVESTMENT here is one with a twist. NO LONGER will you need to give your money away as a "donation to help others". TCC's Family Enrichment Plan helps the poor get started by providing safe investment sites that have been TESTED AND PROVEN BY US with our own money, providing full training of what to look for in potential avenues, offering lifetime support as they traverse their new paths, and even providing a small interest free loan for startup capital if they show some evidence of honest effort...NO DAMN WELFARE HERE....they WORK for it, but it takes several weeks for the loaned funds to return to return to us, with no profit like we would have received had those same funds been invested.....3-4 times REINVESTED in the time it was loaned out....so we actually LOSE ALOT OF MONEY in the short term.
*
The response to this initial pilot program has been so unexpectedly high that I run out of operating capital on a daiily basis, sometimes even several times a day, and have to wait for returns from our own investments before we can help any more registrants get started...
*
SO WE HAVE OPENED OUR DOORS TO OUTSIDE INVESTORS. TCC is now offering it's standard investors($50 to $1000) 1% daily for 365 days.....principle included and insured against loss. Thats a 365% return. Try to get THAT from any bank or trading house. Under $50 will receive a 30 day principle return(not insured) plus an equivocable share of any profit earned.
*
For the more adventurous souls investing MORE THAN $1000 better terms MIGHT be available, depending on market conditions, and available vessels at the time of deployment.
✨⚜️YOU EARN TO HELP THE POOR⚜️✨
💰🏦NO DONATION BEGGING HERE🏦💰
*
Within the next 90 days(if funds allow....God's children come first) I hope to have a more professional investment website available, along with several phone apps and bots, to make the various processes a little more comfortable and accessible for both registrants and investors, but for now its just the honor of an old school country boy too scared of bringing shame to his beloved mama's name to do anything but the RIGHT thing!!!
*
Interested parties should email me for more details and/or instructions. Thank you for your time and God Bless!!! Please share.
*

This will help to increase agri produce; he added and continued that megaprojects valuing Rs. 300 billion are in progress under the agri emergency programme. A sum of Rs. 45 billion is given to 70,000 farmers under the e-credit scheme as interest-free loans and 4.40 billion is provided for the procurement of certified seeds and agri machinery at subsidized rates, he continued. The 9 lakh farmers are given a subsidy of more than 12 billion for subsidizing the production cost and the latest irrigation system is introduced as well. A subsidy of more than 4 billion is given for solar system and drip sprinkler systems while introducing crop insurance, for which the provincial government has paid 15 billion as premium, he further said.
The CM said support prices of cotton, wheat and sugarcane are fixed at Rs. 5000, Rs. 1800 and Rs. 200 respectively and record production of seven crops has recorded an increase of Rs. 600 billion in agri economy. He welcomed the inauguration of the national cotton breeding institute and intercropping research centre adding that the 2.5-megawatt solar power project in IUB will produce 1.7 rupees per unit of electricity. He appreciated that the university college of nursing will provide higher education facilities to the nursing students for better employment opportunities.
Meanwhile, the PTI government will start more development schemes in Bahawalpur, he stated and added that 36.32 billion were being spent on 187 development schemes in district Bahawalpur. 136 new development schemes will be launched under the district development package with an amount of 12.54 billion, he added. Similarly, the upgradation of the Hakra canal and improvement of the desert branch canal is in progress and 20 inflatable rubber dams project is under consideration to store floodwater. He said 79 roads projects will be completed in the district adding that a 42-KM long link road from Bahawalpur N5 to Jhangra East Interchange will be constructed with four billion rupees and Hasilpur-Bahawalpur dual carriageway will be completed with five billion rupees. Along with it, a 40-KM long Yazman-Bahawalpur road will also be constructed, he added. 52-KM long rural roads are completed under RAP1 and seven schemes of 44-KM long roads will be completed this year under RAP2, the CM further stated.
The CM said that work on 31 projects of provision and disposal of water is in progress in district Bahawalpur and a water drainage scheme will be completed in the city with 3.87 billion. He said 279 schools will also be upgraded besides starting a non-formal education project for Cholistan. Upgradation of different wards of Bahawal Victoria Hospital will be completed soon and a gynae complex will be constructed in THQ hospital Yazman besides setting up an emergency block in Khairpur. Gynaecology and dialysis units will be added to Rajgaan rural health centre, he said. Civil Hospital Bahawalpur is named after Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi, he further said.
The CM pointed out that the Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences is completed by the incumbent government and besides appointing its vice-chancellor, 260 officials were also recruited to provide the best educational facilities to the students. 2247 students are enrolled in the university and the first badge will pass out in 2024, he added. The CM said industrial estate will be established with an amount of seven billion and coordinated development projects will be launched through 11 departments in the Cholistan. 27694 lots will be allotted to landless locals in Cholistan and the PITB will hold balloting in November to ensure transparent allotments, he added. He said the people of Bahawalpur have a great love for PTI and PM Imran Khan and invited the prime minister to visit Bahawalpur again to lay the foundation stone of the south Punjab secretariat. The rules of business of south Punjab secretariat are being formulated and Bahawalpur will be brought at par with other developed cities to fulfil the right of development of people living in the area, concluded the CM.

In 2012 Republicans Predicted That Failure To Approve The Keystone Pipeline Would Send The Price Of Gasoline Sky High And Kill Large Numbers Of Jobs
Despite the fact that the Keystone Pipeline was not approved, the price of gasoline continued to drop below $1.80 per gallon, millions of new jobs were created and unemployment dropped from 8% to 4.9% by early 2016.

How Buy Good. Feel Good. Is Making It Easy To Send Ethical And Sustainable Christmas Gifts
Amazonite Bracelet by Daria Day
Buy Good. Feel Good is a supercool marketplace as a one-stop-shop for conscious consumers looking to shop ethical and sustainable products and a platform that enables people to give purpose to every purchase they make.
I caught up with founder Rafik Riad to find out more about some of his favorite brands for the holiday gifting season.
Afdhel Aziz: Hi Rafik, welcome! Please tell us a little about Buy Good. Feel Good. and how the online marketplace came about?
Rafik Riad: We like to think of our Buy Good. Feel Good. marketplace as a one-stop-shop for conscious consumers looking to shop ethical and sustainable products and a platform that enables people to give purpose to every purchase they make.
We only got into the online realm this year. 2020 has certainly been the year of embracing change for us as we had to cancel 3 expos planned both in Toronto and LA. We originally started in 2014 with a physical marketplace in Toronto and slowly started expanding to the US. But when COVID hit, we had to pivot, which is how we became an online marketplace. Our mission remains the same though, we support social enterprises that are putting people and planet first by offering customers alternatives that really make a difference. No matter what you’re on the hunt for, when you shop Buy Good. Feel Good., you help drive the world of e-commerce to a more positive place by supporting brands that push for sustainability and social justice.
Rafik Riad, Founder of Buy Good. Feel Good.
Aziz: Let’s talk about some of your favorite brands and products on the site, starting with gifts for kids?
Riad: That’s a tough one! It is really hard to pick when our roster of vendors is so impressive.
But with everyone staying home for the holidays I’m loving the Boredom Relief Kit from Buena Onda. It’s the perfect way to bring endless games to your home for the whole family, and you’ll feel good about supporting a brand that sustainably employs Mayan artisans in the villages surrounding Lake Atitlán, Guatemala, who handcraft their colourful creations.
The Nurturing Love Blanket from Thread Talk is another one. This soft snuggly organic cotton blanket sized just right for all the love bugs in your life is lovely and 10% of the proceeds goes to help victims of domestic violence across the US.
For something fun, guilt-free, and creative to do with your toddler, the Indigo Dye Kit from The Good Tee, complete with a toddler t-shirt, is definitely a winner. It’s a great introduction for young kids into the beauty of creating color from nature. The Good Tee is a positive example of responsibly made apparel that is fully traceable from farm to warehouse in order to minimize their footprint and measure their environmental impact.

Aziz: How about gifts for women, what are you loving right now?
Riad: For gifts for women we have so many options to choose from. One of my personal favorites as a gift is the Cactus Necklace available in gold and silver from Kind Karma Company. The cactus symbolizes persistence and resilience because these beautiful plants live in the harshest conditions and are still able to thrive just like the at-risk and homeless youth in Toronto that handcraft the fine jewelry for this social impact brand.
For a gift that helps block out stress in these unprecedented times, the Amazonite Bracelet by Daria Day features hand-cut, smooth Amazonite gemstones (known to soothe energy levels) that are highlighted by a silver patterned separator bead. The bracelet has a quiet sophistication to it and I love the fact that the brand’s mission is to provide artisans at the foothills of K2 Mountain in North Pakistan with a sustainable livelihood while bringing to the market traceable, unique jewelry.
If you’re looking for a real treat for the women in your life, I suggest you check out the Mirabal Handmade Leather Tote by Brave Soles. This gorgeous classic bag is in a distinct class of its own. Brave Soles products are handmade in Dominican Republic using upcycled tire soles with partner local artisans and suppliers using small scale production and local employment.

Aziz: And for men, who are the brands and products on your radar?
Riad: This one’s a little easier for me because I have a couple of the products in my cart right now!
The Havana Leather Boot by Adelante Shoe Co. is the ultimate staple of ruggedness and class. Expertly made by skilled Guatemalan craftsmen, the boot is designed with the highest quality full-grain leather – and I’m a big fan of their made-to-order model that delivers you a personalized pair of shoes that helps support their craftsmen and their families with access to education, food, and proper means of transportation.
I also can’t wait to get my hands on the Vegan Dopp Kit by Deux Mains. This beautifully handcrafted dopp kit is made using upcycled leather and inner tire tubes in a one of a kind, Port-Au-Prince factory that is completely solar-powered. Deux Mains do a great job of combining artisanal techniques with industrial production to offer eco-friendly, fashion-forward handbags and accessories, made ethically in Haiti.
With the cold weather setting in, the Helyat Handwoven Shawl by Dandarah will become a classic staple to any look. Handwoven by artisans in the Egyptian rural village of Nagada, I feel an affinity with this brand as I am originally from Egypt and I am happy to give Dandarah a platform to support economically and socially marginalized artisans in Egypt, mostly women and minorities, to improve their economic and social conditions.

Aziz: And finally, how about home and lifestyle?
Riad: With the holidays coming up I am really looking forward to a lot of sleep! And Takasa’s Warm Luxurious Organic Cotton Bed Sheet Set will be the cherry on top. Finished in warm and luxurious sateen, this fair trade and organic cotton set is ethically made in India, from farm to finished product, and is manufactured using environmentally safe methods and is free from harmful chemicals.
I recently bought a new place, and I’m eyeing these Mini Ceramic Vessels from Women of the Cloud Forest to add a little color and flavour to our living space. These decorative vessels are handcrafted in a family workshop in San Juan de Oriente, Nicaragua, and the intricate geometric designs are etched by hand using a sharpened bicycle spoke. I’m also really impressed with the brand for offering no-interest micro-loans and direct grants for workshop capacity building, in addition to providing fair pricing for their artisan partners through cost analysis sessions.
The Essential Oils Starter Kit by Savhera, makes for an amazing gift that encourages wellness. This kit is the perfect introduction to the world of organic essential oils, each with their unique qualities, and Savhera’s USDA certified organic essential oils are the gateway to living-wage and professional employment for sex trafficking survivors from Delhi, India.
I’ll be adding some cheer to the holiday dinner table with the Celebration Runner & Placemat Set from Mayamam Weavers. I’m loving the vibrant colors of this handwoven, 100% cotton set. Mayamam Weavers are inspired by the rich colors and patterns of traditional weaving techniques of Mayan culture and all their products are made by weavers and seamstresses in the western highlands of Guatemala.

‘Govt left migrants to mercy of God’: Congress - india news
https://www.liveindiatimes.com/govt-left-migrants-to-mercy-of-god-congress-india-news/
Tumblr media
The Congress on Thursday criticised the government for the second tranche of its stimulus package to boost the Covid-19 hit economy, saying it had provided just Rs 3500 crore for the millions of migrant workers walking thousands of kilometres to reach their homes.
Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said the entire press conference of finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman was a “classic display of arrogance, ignorance and insensitivity” and claimed that except for Rs 1500 crore interest subvention for Shishu Mudra loans and Rs 3500 crore for migrant workers, there was nothing else out of the Rs 20 lakh crore package.

“For the millions of migrants that you claim are the builders of this nation, all you have for them is Rs 3500 crore in terms of atta and chana. It is pathetic. They are left to the mercy of God. This is your empathy for the poor of this country. That’s why we say you are a suit boot ki sarkaar,” he told reporters through a video conference.
“This is the entire quantum of the package that the BJP ostensibly put together for the greatest humanitarian tragedy since the 1947 Partition exodus and the East Pakistan refugee crisis,” Tewari added.
He said the government does not even have the figures of how many people were housed in relief camps. The government said there are 8 crore migrants but the reality is that 11 crore migrants are in the country, as per the 2011 census, and the numbers have increased since then, he added.

“We expected the finance minister to specify what the government is doing to ferry migrants who are walking on the roads back to their homes. But nothing like that happened,” Tewari said.

His colleague Supriya Shrinate termed the stimulus package as a “loan mela” and said the government should give direct cash transfer to the poor to enhance the demand and this would cost just Rs 65,000 crore.
“Look at the insensitivity of the government that is doing nothing for the workers walking on foot right now but talking about measures ahead… The indignity with which Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about MNREGA, the same MNREGA is a life saver in rural areas today,” she added.
Earlier, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi said the party will ensure that the screams of migrant workers reach the government and described them as the ones carrying the country’s flag.
“There is a dense darkness and these are difficult times, have courage, all of us are standing for the safety of all of them. We will ensure that their screams reach the government and they get the help they deserve. They are not the ordinary public of the country, they are the flag bearers of the country’s self-respect. We will never let them bow down,” he tweeted in Hindi.
pic.twitter.com/bBf48DiluY
— Rahul Gandhi (@RahulGandhi) May 14, 2020
But BJP president JP Nadda said the announcements showed the Prime Minister’s sensitivity towards the poor and the marginal people.
I welcome announcements by FM @nsitharaman Ji for the benefit of migrant workers. Free food for two months to 8 Crore migrants, nationwide implementation of “One Nation One Ration Card” Scheme are major initiatives to ensure food security for migrant workers.
— Jagat Prakash Nadda (@JPNadda) May 14, 2020
“I welcome announcements by FM @nsitharaman Ji for the benefit of migrant workers. Free food for two months to 8 Crore migrants, nationwide implementation of One Nation One Ration Card Scheme are major initiatives to ensure food security for migrant workers,” he tweeted.
“Rs 2 lakh crore concessional credit to 2.5 Cr PM Kisan beneficiary farmers & fishermen; and the Rs 30,00O crore additional funding from NABARD etc. will boost the farm sector,” he said in another tweet.
