Exposição “TuaVulva” traz a público esculturas únicas

Artista Isa Graciano exibe 30 esculturas de vulvas em tamanho natural no espaço ValeArte, em Campinas

A artista visual e educadora menstrual Isa Graciano inaugura no dia 16 de março de 2024, sábado, das 16 às 22 horas, a mostra individual “TuaVulva” no espaço ValeArte em Campinas. São exibidas 30 esculturas de vulvas. 

A exposição é o aspecto plástico de um percurso que Isa Graciano vem fazendo há 5 anos, que pode se conferir no perfil Sabedoria Menstrual, onde que divulga a menstruação consciente, o autoconhecimento da mulher, o respeito a seu próprio corpo e sua ciclicidade.  Dessa experiência vivida e incorporada, surgiu a ideia de moldar a própria vulva e, em seguida, nasceu o Projeto TuaVulva em que Isa vem moldando vulvas e montando uma coleção em desenvolvimento permanente.

“Ela possui um monte de apelidos e sinônimos, é um tabu. A maioria das pessoas nem sabe que a parte externa do órgão sexual feminino se chama vulva. Acham que se chama vagina, mas vagina é o nome da parte interna do órgão sexual feminino. A vulva abarca o clitóris, lábios externos, lábios internos, orifício da uretra e a entrada da vagina. Podemos passar uma vida inteira sem saber nomear a vulva, sem compreender sobre suas partes e sem saber que as vulvas podem ser tão diversas entre si como nossas fisionomias!”, declara Isa.

Para Isa, que é graduada em Artes Visuais na Unicamp, o momento de moldagem é bem especial e já é uma etapa do processo de autoconhecimento e resgate do próprio corpo que as "modelos" vivenciam ao terem suas vulvas eternizadas. Ela realiza esse trabalho em seu ateliê, no distrito de Barão Geraldo, em Campinas. Para a criação do molde, usa-se alginato, substância utilizada por dentistas para moldagem da boca. Maleável, o alginato toma a forma desejada e em seguida se enrijece, criando um molde fidedigno, a partir do qual a artista cria a escultura em gesso e lhe dá acabamento personalizado em cores que remetem a metais preciosos como ouro, prata, cobre e bronze.

“Há três anos, eu me considerava uma pessoa que já havia alcançado ‘o topo da consciência corporal’ em relação a meu órgão sexual, por ser educadora menstrual e por praticar e ensinar o Fluxo Instintivo Livre, que é o controle voluntário do fluxo menstrual com o uso refinado da musculatura da vagina. Mas quando moldei minha vulva e tive em mãos minha 'vulva eternizada' senti um impacto tremendo e percebi que desenvolver consciência corporal é um processo que nunca acaba, que sempre tem algo mais a se perceber ou aprender, assim como o processo psicológico da individuação. O passo seguinte foi inevitável:  convidar outras mulheres para entrar na aventura de divulgar a beleza e a diversidade de nossas vulvas. Foi a confluência entre a educadora menstrual e a artista”, sintetiza a artista.

Para Isa, que é heterossexual e nunca havia visto outras vulvas ao vivo, o trabalho de moldar e eternizar vulvas se tornou uma jornada surpreendente de poder descobrir e apreciar outras anatomias e constatar “que somos todas únicas e belas, assim como as flores na natureza”. Hoje ela afirma com profunda convicção e alegria que “toda vulva é bela e única”.

Ang internet ay kasama sa popular na kultura. Kulturang ipinapakain sa atin ng mga naghaharing-uri. Para tayo ay malibang, malayo ang atensyon natin sa tunay na problema ng lipunan. Isang kagamitan ng mga nasa itaas para hindi lumaban ang nasa ibabang pinagsasamantalahan nito. Ganito ang nagagawa ng pagsasalsal. Isang metaporang ginamit ni U.Z. Eliserio para sa pag-aaliw sa sarili. Sa loob ng cyberspace, tila pribado. Parang ikaw lang ang nakakaalam kung ano ang ginagawa mo sa loob nito. Katulad ng pagsasalsal sa sekswal na konteksto, ang pagsasalsal sa internet ay pribado….dapat. 

Anong nangyayari? Bakit nawawala ang namamagitan sa publiko at pribado? Sa isang klase ni Eliserio, nabanggit niya na pinagawa niya ang bawat grupo ng blog kung saan malaya silang maglagay ng kung anu-ano. Ang punto ay para matuto sila paano gamitin ang cyberspace upang maglahad ng nakapgpapalayang kaisipan. Sinuri niya ang dalawampung (20) blog ng kaniyang mga estudyante. Bagamat isang kagamitan ng naghaharing-uri ang internet, mayroon pa rin itong rebolusyunaryong kapasidad.

Lumitaw ang mga walang kwentang blog ng kaniyang mga estudyante. Ang mga bagay na dapat ay pribado na lamang ay inilalahad pa sa publiko. Ito ang pagsasalsal na dapat ay pribado bagkus isinisiwalat pa sa publiko. Nangyayari ito sa kasalukuyan. Magbukas ka lang ng facebook at makikita mo ang iyong mga friends na nag-rarant tungkol sa mga napakawalang kwentang bagay. Mapa-away pamilya, kasintahan, pera at iba pang bagay na dapat ay pribado. Sa twitter, maituturing itong “kalat” na kung saan puro walang kwenta ang lumalabas. May away ng iba’t ibang tao sa loob ng twitter na walang katuturan. Ganito ang gustong mangyari ng mga naghaharing-uri at napakaepektibo nito. 

Pero masama ba ang minsang pagsasalsal sa internet? Hindi naman. Gaya ng sabi ni Eliserio: “Ang kaso, kung puro pag-iyak lamang para sa atensyon ang nagiging silbi ng blog, ituturing lamang itong mahusay na libangan, aksaya ng panahon, para lang sa mga walang magawa sa buhay.” Maraming nasasayang kung puro pagsasalsal sa internet ang pagyayamanin ng isang indibidwal. Sayang ang panahon na imbis na pagsasalsal ang aatupagin, sana ay itinuon niya na lang sa pag-aaral ng lipunan. Kung ginamit niya na lang sana ito upang magpalaganap ng mga kaisipang nakapagpapalaya. Pero hindi natin sila kaaway! Sila ay biktima rin ng sistemang mapang-api. Hindi pa sila mulat sa kalagayan ng lipunan. False consciousness ito kung tawagin ng mga Marxista.

Ano naman ang pakikibaka sa internet? Posible bang maging isang rebolusyunaryo sa loob ng isang midyum ng mga naghaharing-uri? Sa paanong paraan? Ang sagot ay oo. Kung paano ay hayaan niyo akong mag-kwento. Alam na natin na kagamitan ng naghaharing-uri ang internet. Tila mahirap makibaka sa cyberspace na puro pagsasalsal ang ginagawa. Pero posible ito. Una ay malamang, mag-aral ka ng lipunang Pilipino. Kapag tingin mo ay handa ka nang mag-mulat, gawin mo na. Kung lalakasan mo ang iyong loob, maaari kang makapagpalaganap ng mga kaisipang malaya. Kung pipiliin mong sumalungat sa agos ng ilog, pagpupugay sa ‘yo, nakikibaka ka na sa paraang alam mo. Sa twitter at facebook, mayroong mga pages ang mga aktibista. Isa sila sa mga halimbawa na kayang makibaka sa loob ng isang kagamitan ng mga naghaharing-uri. Naglulunsad ito ng mga twitter rallies upang paingayin ang mga isyung panlipunan dahil malawak na hanay ng masa rin ang maaabot sa loob ng cyberspace. 

Sa isang blog ni bandanieli.blogspot.com, sinabi niya na “Ang paglabas sa kinasusuklamang sistema ay katumbas lamang ng pagtakas sa problema, para lang ito sa mga duwag. Hindi nito nilulutas ang problema, iniiwasan lang." Ipinapakita ng ganitong klase ng blog ang rebolusyunaryong potensyal ng internet. Kung pipiliin lang natin na magpalaganap ng ganitong mga kaisipan, marami tayong maaabot.

Jose Rizal. Graciano Lopez-Jaena. Marcelo H. del Pilar. Mga bantog na pangalan na sumulat at nagpakalat ng propaganda sa mga Pilipino noong panahon ng mga Kastila. Isiniwalat ang katiwalian ng mga Espanyol. Inilantad ang pang-aabuso ng mga prayle at ang korapsyon ng simbahan. Nanindigan at humingi ng reporma mula sa mga Espanyol. Bakit ko sila binanggit? Simple lang. Gusto kong ipakita na may nagagawa ang pagsusulat. Mula noon, naging tanyag ang Unang Kilusang Propaganda dahil sa husay nilang magsulat. Talaga nga namang nakapukaw ito ng atensyon ng mga Pilipino. Tumagal ang pahayagan nang 6 na taon. 

Ano ang pagkakatulad nila sa pakikibaka sa internet? Parehong sulat ang porma ng pakikibaka. Kahit pa may nagawa ang Unang Kilusang Propaganda at ang pakikibaka sa internet, hindi pa rin sapat ito upang lumaya ang ating bayan. Hindi totoo ang mga katagang “The pen is mightier than the sword”. Mas maganda: “The pen is mightier with the sword”. Dalawahan lagi ang pakikibaka: teorya at praktika. 

Sa panahon na laganap ang patayan at karahasan; sa panahon na ninanakawan ng lupa ang mga magsasaka, pinapahirapan at pinapatay; sa panahon na pinagsasamantalahan ang mga manggagawa, binabarat sa sahod, kontraktwal, at walang pasabing tinatanggal sa trabaho; sa panahon na tinutugis ang mga mamamayang lumalaban; sa panahon na kailangan na kailangang isulong ang kilusang bayan at magpatalsik ng diktador, piliin mong makibaka, huwag ang pagsasalsal.

BIOGRAPIYA NG BISAYAS

Ang Visayas o ang Visayan Islands ay isa sa tatlong pangunahing heograpikong dibisyon ng Pilipinas, kasama ang Luzon at Mindanao. Matatagpuan sa gitnang bahagi ng kapuluan, binubuo ito ng ilang mga isla, lalo na sa paligid ng Visayan Sea, bagaman ang Kabisayaan ay itinuturing din na hilagang-silangan ng buong Sulu Sea. Ang mga naninirahan dito ay nakararami sa mga mamamayang Bisaya.

TURISMO

Ang Visayas ay isang mahinahon na rehiyon na napapalibutan ng iba't ibang dagat, bundok, at kuweba. Ito ay ay isang perpektong patutunguhan upang makapagpahinga. Umpisahan natin ang listahang ito sa pamamagitan ng pagturo sa kapuluan ng Pilipinas na binubuo ng maraming mga isla, sa katunayan, ito ay binubuo ng tungkol sa 7,641 na mga isla, kung saan halos 2,000 lamang ang may nakatira. Ang Visayas ay isang pangkat ng mga isla sa pagitan ng Luzon at Mindanao.

1. Boracay- Matatagpuan sa hilagang-kanluran ng Panay Island at ikinategorya bilang bahagi ng Rehiyon VI. Mayroong dalawang dagat na nagsisilbing pangunahing 'hotspot' ng turismo ng Boracay. Ang una ay ang White Beach at ang pangalawa ay ang Bulabog Beach.

2.Guimaras -  ay isang lalawigan ng isla sa rehiyon ng Western Visayas. Ito ay may pagkakaiba-iba ng pagiging isa sa pinakamaliit na mga lalawigan na may kabisera na ang Jordan. Ang isla ay pormal na nakilala bilang Himal-us dati.

3. Siquijor - ay matatagpuan sa rehiyon ng Central Visayas at isa sa mga tunay na nakakaakit na lugar sa rehiyon. Ang ilan sa mga atraksyon na makikita sa isla ay may kasamang mga dagat, kuweba, talon, isang "butterfly sanctuary" at Bandilaan Natural Park.

4. El Nido - ay isa sa unang klaseng bayan sa lalawigan ng Palawan. Mayrooon itong mga matataas na bangin na marmol, kaakit-akit na laguna, malabay na mga gubat at puting mabuhangin na dalampasigan. Ang lugar ay isa sa mga nangungunang destinasyon ng turista sa Palawan at nakakuha pa ang palayaw na "The Philippines' Last Frontier".

5. Bohol - Ang lalawigan ng isla ng Bohol ay matatagpuan sa rehiyon ng Central Visayas at binubuo ng pangunahing isla kasama ang 75 na mas maliit na isla . Ang Tagbilaran City ay kabisera ng Bohol at siyang tahanan ng Chocolate Hills. Ang pang-akit ng turista ay ang pinakatanyag na pang-akit sa rehiyon.

CALOOCAN CITY, April 25 (PIA) -- Teaching and non-teaching personnel in the City of Manila are set to receive P5,000 cash assistance from the local government amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso announced on Friday, April 24, that he has approved the release of the P64 million financial assistance to be given teachers as well as non-teaching personnel of public schools in Manila.

"Ang lahat ng aming teacher and non teaching personnel, sa aming elementary at public high school ay tatanggap ng 5,000 pesos bawat isa. Pinirmahan ko na kahapon yung P64 million more or less," Domagoso said.

The Mayor said around 11,000 public elementary and high school personnel stand to benefit from the assistance.

He added that the assistance will be directly deposited to the ATM cards of teachers and non-teaching personnel.

"Maubos man ang pera ng gobyerno, masaya naman ako na natamasa ito ng tao sa panahon ng kakaibang crisis," Domagoso said.

Marawi elections ‘peaceful’ despite low turnout

MARAWI CITY -- The Commission on Election (Comelec) provincial office of Lanao del Sur said the special elections on the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan on Saturday was “peaceful and orderly," despite the low turnout of voters, and other reported incidents of vote-buying and fist fights.

Lawyer Ray Sumalipao, acting Provincial Election Supervisor in Lanao del Sur, credited the success of the special elections in the city to the presence of the military and police units who were deployed in and out of the polling centers.

The presence of government troops deterred rival camps from getting violent which happened in the past elections where ballot snatching and firefights between civilians are common occurrences.

The Joint Task Force (JTF) Ranao congratulated the security forces, election tellers, servers, observers and the Maranao voting public for the generally successful and peaceful elections despite "few fistfights and misunderstandings,” while also few individuals were arrested by the police for election violations such as vote buying.

“But more importantly, this is the first time in Marawi City that not a single person was killed in relation to the elections,” said Col. Romeo Brawner Jr., deputy commander of the JTF Ranao.

The same rules during the regular polls were observed and implemented including the opening of ballots and start of the casting of votes at 7 a.m. and its closing at 3 p.m.

“Pero kung ang botante nasa loob na ng polling place within 30 meters at 3 o’clock, pwede silang ilista sa poll clerk then they will be allowed to vote (If the voter is inside the polling place within 30 meters at 3 o'clock, the clerks can list them, and they will be allowed to vote),” Sumalipao said.

Zia Adiong, Assemblyman of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and a resident of Marawi City, commended the Board of Election Tellers (BET), and members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police, for exerting efforts to “serve and protect the will of the people”.

Chief Supt. Graciano Mijares, director of the Police Regional Office in Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said the PNP personnel deployed in Marawi for the election were there not only to secure the perimeter but also as back-up for the teachers as BET.

“(I) salute to the teachers, who, despite of the tremendous pressure, were able to perform their duties ensuring that each vote is counted and protected. This is dedication. This is commitment to serve the public. Democracy in Marawi prevails,” Adiong said.

Lower turnout of voters

Sumalipao, however, said the low voters turnout was already expected considering that many of the residents were not able to go back to their homes, especially those who are from the most affected area.

“We all know na lahat ng mga tao (that most of the people who are also voters) of course mga voters natin, ay nag-evacuate (evacuated) because of that siege, though there are some of those who returned already (to their homes) pero talagang may kulang pa rin (but the turnout is not enough),” Sumalipao said.

Based on the last Comelec record before the siege, of the 50,893 registered voters in Marawi City, 60 to 70 percent of the number is the expected turnout.

Hundreds of displaced voters are still presently staying in evacuation centers and tents outside Marawi City. Some are also temporarily staying in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte and nearby areas in Northern Mindanao.

Sumalipao added that one factor of the low turnout of voters is the fact that 50 out of the 96 barangays had unopposed candidates for barangay chairmanship.

“We all know na medyo intense ang labanan sa pagka-barangay chairman, kahit na may mga magkakalaban sa pagka-kagawad. Pero alam natin na mas interesado ang lahat sa pag-boto sa barangay chairman kaya marami na rin ang hindi na pumunta sa mga presinto para bumoto. Isa rin iyon kaya mababa ang turnout of voters natin (We all know that it's a bit intense when it comes to barangay chairmanship, because there are rivalries among barangay councilors. But we all know that all voters will be voting for a barangay chairman that is why many no longer went to the precincts to vote. That's one reason why there's a low voters turnout),” Sumalipao said.

Voters' stories

Voter Feliza Toylo, 69, had to travel for almost four hours to get to Marawi and cast her vote because she wanted her candidate, a former neighbor in Barnagay Kadingilan, to win.

Toylo said she went home to her province in Misamis Occidental where her family sought refuge in May last year.

She did not go back to Marawi even if the city government and the Task Force Bangon Marawi have already awarded temporary housing units to residents from the most affected area.

Kadingilan is one of the 24 barangays in the most affected area where residents are prioritized in its temporary shelters, which were built by the government.

Like Toylo, Lourdes Sardaňas, 49, have also travelled more than six hours all the way from Pagadian City to vote for the candidate she believes could help in bringing Marawi back on its feet.

Toylo and Sardaňas were tailors working with one employer before the war erupted in Marawi City.

Although they are still earning now in the place where they are living, they still want to go back to Marawi when the situation returns to normalcy.

“My income now is very different when I was in Marawi. I have many clients there,” Sardaňas said.

As soon as he was done casting his votes in his polling precincts, Hadji Rasul Taratingan, 59, a voter of Barangay Tuca Marinaut, went to the other side of the school building to look for his wife’s name on the Precinct Computerized Voters List (PCVL).

He wanted to make sure the name was there before he accompanies his wife to the polling center to cast her vote.

His wife, Zaalica Miondas Pango, is still recuperating from a stroke and has a hard time walking to the voting place.

“Mabagal na siya maglakad, kailangan ko pa alalayan. Hindi na makakayanan ang init kaya kailangan i-confirm ko muna na nandito talaga ang pangalan niya (She's having difficulty walking, she needs to be escorted. I have to confirm if her name was in the list first before bringing her to the precinct because she could not endure the hot temperature),” Taratingan said.

Vote-buying

Meanwhile, Marawi police officers have foiled vote-buying attempts during the elections.

SPO 3 Ali Rangiris of Marawi City Police Station, flagged Richam Carem Labiste Suba, 25, who was said to have brought campaign materials with PHP20-bills attached to it.

Suba denied it was “vote-buying,” but the police said they will still conduct further questioning and sought for Suba’s explanation to Comelec.

“Hindi po pang-vote buying. Pambili lang po ng tubig (It is not for vote-buying. This will be given (to the voters) for them to buy water),” Suba explained.

Meanwhile, police had to fire warning shots when a fist fight erupted between supporters of opposing candidates over allegations of barring each other’s supporters to enter the polling center to cast their votes. They were voters of Barangay Lumbaca Madaya.

‘Flying voters’

Ahmadjan Marogong Abdulcarim, a voter of Bubonga Lilod Madaya, and three other female relatives have to pull a male civilian from his line after finding out that Abdulcarim’s name was supposed to be used to vote.

“I was following him in the line to the voting area when I found out that he is bringing a piece of paper with my name on it. Had he reached the BEI (Board of Election Inspector), he will be voting using my name,” Abdulcarim said in an interview.

The unidentified civilian was immediately ushered by two females, who identified themselves only as cousins, outside the polling center, away from the mad relatives of Abdulcarim.

Elections in temporary shelters

As early as 6 a.m., hundreds already lined up to their respective polling precincts in Marawi-Sagonsongan Pilot Elemetary School, a temporary learning space in Bahay Ng Pagbabago Temporary Shelters Site, in Barangay Sagonsongan.

The polling centers of the 22 out of 24 barangays in the most affected area were set-up here. These barangays which had been declared by the military as cleared had their polling centers in their respective places.

The Marawi-Sagonsongan PES was constructed in May for the displaced learners from the ground zero who are temporarily staying in Sagonsongan.
