NGL, I was a little surprised that the photo for SVT’s article had 🐐 @niklasedin at the center. We all know how biased I am when it comes to my belief that Niklas Edin is the greatest of all time when it comes to #curling but the 🐐 has a documented history of not doing well in #mixeddoubles nationals. In 13 years, he has only medalled twice - bronze w/ Lotta Lennartsson in 2009 and silver in 2017 w/ Sara McManus, but none during the past 3 years. Plus, w/ Oskar being the still reigning World Champion and favorite going into the competition, I figured he’d be at the center. But I guess 🐐 remains the media darling. And whenever he plays mixed doubles I get the strong urge to buy a Hardline Curling hat even though I never wear hats. . . Glad Svensk Curling provided livestream coverage for all the round robin draws. It was nice to see the action even though I was having issues w/ lag. The semifinal is supposed to be shown on SVT Play at 2am PST and the final at 6am PST but I didn’t see the SF game on the website. ICYMI: The Swedish #mixeddoubles Nationals are set to occur in #Jönköping from February 4th to 6th. 🐐 @niklasedin and presumably his trusty blue hat (or the now iconic black Hardline hat, and Emma will face off against the other mixed doubles teams for the honor to represent Sweden at Worlds (assuming it doesn’t get cancelled). The field is deep - I can see each of these teams winning internationally. May the best team win. . . Good news #curling fans! Looking forward to watching #curling this weekend. I already bought my #SWENATIONALCHALLENGE access pass so I can watch the games on the Solid Tango livestream starting at 3am my time. It’s 39 SEK (~$5) per game or 179 SEK (~$22) for the entire weekend. #LyckaTill to all 5 @svenskcurling #mixeddoubles teams competing at the MixedDoublesBern event this weekend. They released the A Road bracket for the 32 teams competing on FB, but the photos are really hard to read on my phone so I made myself a much easier to read version (maybe I’ll include those to this post too). . . Not sure what the livestream and linescores situation is for this event, but according to the website, last year’s event was streamed on Peak Curl’s YT & Curling Zone also seemed to have the event’s scores and brackets. The photos on FB has the WCT’s logo so I hope they’ll provide livestreams, score updates, and maybe even commentary 🙏🤞 IDK what the backstory is to the 2.0 Cup, but while it had livestream (which I was very grateful for), it seemed it was not an officially sanctioned WCT event & there were instances when scores weren’t updated (presumably due to lack of staff/volunteers/manpower at the event). . . Seems pandemic policies in Europe remain the same - Sweden’s not on the naughty list & Swedes can fly in and out of Switzerland w/ relative ease. I guess this saves members of @teamniklasedin money from hotels/accomodations instead of doing what Team Van Dorp is doing (living in Switzerland for a few weeks). Hope Champery Masters is still a go & that Team Edin can get another win this season, but I’m getting ahead of myself here. Focus this weekend is on MD. . . Looking forward to the #WomensMastersBasel this weekend. I hope @worldcurltour has livestream & official draw schedules out soon so I can plan accordingly since there’s also a mixed doubles event in Tallinn. COVID-19 has cancelled a lot of events already & it would be really helpful for fangirls like me to get official competition schedules from teams so I can plan things accordingly.
