#watching 13x5#Gotta use this in a video sometime#it's nice the lines you kinda gain and lose in different languages#bc some just lend themselves to recontextualising in a video better than others you know?#like for example in english “theres nowhere near enough of it” has this...finality#gut punch of catastrophe#lends itself very well to taking and putting into other contexts#which ive done with that line#in french that one doesnt let you do that so easily#but vice versa i think 'je suis l'élue' has this recontextualisation facto that 'im the one' doesnt really#it's about a combination of words+delivery#i think it's about rhythm a lot too. bc the french voice actors really do an amazing job at matching the original line deliveries#but Im The One has 3 syllables whereas Je Suis L'éLue has 4#similarly theres-No-where-Near-e-Nough-of-It has an up and down#that 'il en manque énormément' just doesnt#the english line has a beat while the french one more unfurls#it does have a bit of a rhyme with manque and -ment maybe#ilenmanque-énormément#two parts#anyway thats language thoughts of the evening
