they should invent a job that doesn't affect your schedule or energy level that you don't have to go to if you don't want but you still get paid
#theres also the similar but distinct concept of ''guaranteed minimum income''#UBI = everyone gets this same payment regardless of their other income#GMI = everyone is guaranteed a set minimum income and if they dont reach it by working they get additional money#GMI actually includes stuff like SSI and SSDI#but since the minimum is like#despicably inhumanely low in the usa#it doesnt actually work to get people out of poverty 🫠#it just sort of traps us at a higher-than-zero-but-still-not-really-livable level of income#i get less than 12k per year for example#but lets round it up to 12k for the sake of argument#12k divided by 12 months in a year = 1k per month#lowest average rent in the USA is north dakota at 880/month#highest is hawaii at over 2k#thats JUST RENT nothing else#if i lived in north dakota almost all of my money would go to rent and i'd be fucked for groceries internet utilities household essentials#not to mention like! idk! leisure?? the occasional nice but non essential thing for myself?? god forbid poor people arent miserable 24 7??#ANYWAY yeah
