So, I’ve gotta know how/when Siri kills Bendik. Like,,,, I wanna hear all about it.

So basic knowledge before we're gonna get into the gory details; Niv eventually reunites with his parents and birth tribe, just before he turns 14. During this time, Siri is 36 (pregnant with baby Helene), Gustav is 38, and Sunniva is just 9 years old (turning 10 during the summer months).

All is good, all is happy. Niv adjusts to his new life pretty well, and even though he misses his friends, he is more than happy he left.

However, half a year after Niv escaped the Myriad Tribe and the abusive ways of Bendik, Eret, having been on a sailing trip, returns to New Berk with horrifying news: a dozen ships, filled with war-painted soldiers, were on the horizon and heading to their island. Their sails carried a strange symbol, three dots, intercepted by two lines. As Hiccup informed the Berkians in an emergency meeting, Niv quickly realised the Myriad Tribe was on the path of war.

Action was quickly taken; every viking who could fight, was send to collect weapons and armor. While this wasn't their first fight without dragons, New Berk was still shivering in a strange mix of excitement and anxiety.

Siri and her kids were send to a hiding spot somewhere on the island, together with everyone else who wouldn't be able to fight. However, as his mother tucked in her young daughters, trying to keep them without any knowledge that their dad and most of their other family would be fighting a foe trained to kill, Niv sneaked out of the hiding place, towards the village and the raging battle.

When Siri found out, she immediately asked another woman to look after her daughters. She couldn't lose her baby boy again, and without thinking, she went after him, not even grabbing a sword, or armor, nothing.

As she ran through the battle, only nearly avoiding swords and arrows, she bumped into Gustav, who, absolutely horrified, tried to send her back, to get her to safety. Siri frantically tried to explain to her husband that no, she couldn't go back, their son had ran away and she needed to get him back-

That was when something catched the corner of her eye. Niv, terrified, cornered by a blonde, screaming man. She couldn't hear what he was saying; she only noticed the sharp, bloodied blade in his hands.

She wasn't gonna let this happen. Not again. She wasn't gonna lose her baby boy. Before she even knew what she was doing, she ripped Gustav's dagger from his hand and, ignoring his shouts, rushed to Niv and his attacker.

Her ears were ringing as she stabbed the blonde man in the back. Blood splattered onto her dress and face, but that didn't matter. As long as this man wouldn't hurt her baby, she would do anything.

The blonde man struggled, coughing up blood as he now tried to attack Siri in his weakened state. This wouldn't work, though. The woman stabbed him again, forcing the sword out of his hand. Only after a little while, the man fell to the ground, spluttering out blood as he slowly bled out.

Panting, trembling, Siri dropped the dagger, before looking up at Niv. Her baby looked horrified, tears brimming in his eyes, but he still rushed to her, burrying himself in her arms. Siri held him, gently trying to calm down his sobs as she pulled him back to the safety of the hiding place.

Only later, Siri learned the man she had killed was Bendik Forrad, her son's adoptive father. He had gone crazy after Niv had left, wanting revenge on the boy, but at the same time, wanting him back in the Myriad Tribe. In a fit of rage, Bendik had decided he needed to kill Niv instead, before Siri stepped in and put an end to it.

Despite knowing she had done the murder thing to save Niv, Siri couldn't help but feel horrified by her own actions. She had never killed anyone before, and it haunted her in her dreams and in her wake for months on end.

Gustav, who had witnessed it, confessed that he had freezed up when it all went down and that he would very, very much like to never see that much blood on her again.

Meanwhile, while Niv was thankful that he wasn't dead, he also felt terrible knowing that him leaving the Myriad Tribe lead to Bendik's death. He had nightmares about it for weeks; asked if he could sleep in the same bed as his mom so he at least felt safe.

These aren't all the details, of course, since id like to leave a little suspense to, for example, the conversation Niv and Bendik have before he gets stabbed. So i think that's where im gonna leave this for now! Just know it all turns out totally okay and even though everyone's got trauma by now, Siri and Niv now have each other <333

Oh and. After doing the murder thing Siri had a total mental breakdown in bath as she and Gustav tried to scrub Bendik's blood off her body >:)
