lol @ that feeling when your mom is on a call with your sister, who is very skinny but (understandably! i am not criticizing her for this!) has lots of body image issues and was venting about having gained some weight back after the wedding and your mom goes “well it’s not like you’re FAT” and completely destroys any semblance of a good mood you were in bc you ARE her fat daughter.

honestly what’s wild is that i know my mom well enough to know that she wasn’t making a veiled comment, she wasn’t being passive aggressive toward me when she said it, she was genuinely not thinking about me at all. and somehow that’s almost worse. like. hello?
