so these are some companion stats (for the purposes of this experiment, i’m only counting companions you can have during the main campaign, not advisors or those restricted to their dlc like the awakening companions or tallis, but it’s fine if they are a dlc like shale and sebastian or only join for part of the main campaign and are conditional like the hawke twins and loghain):

9 male warriors (5 romanceable), 2 female warriors (1 romanceable), 2 non-binary warriors (1 romanceable)

5 male rogues (3 romanceable), 4 female rogues (4 romanceable)

4 male mages (4 romanceable), 7 female mages (4 romanceable)

which adds up to 18 men (12 romanceable), 13 women (9 romanceable), and 2 non-binary companions (1 romanceable). or 13 warriors (7 romanceable), 9 rogues (7 romanceable), and 11 mages (8 romanceable)

it’s crazy how dao came in with “men are the fighting class who wear heavy armour and women are the support class who wear dresses” and at no point in the franchise did they ever come even slightly close to balancing that. as an aside i’m also fascinated by all female rogues and all male mages being romanceable what’s up with that
