I want to write a soulmate au sometime. It’s one of my favorite tropes, personally, and I don’t remember there being that many of them for America/Germany
#ameger#gerame#it’s kinda hard to choose among all the diff variations of the trope tho#red string? countdown timer? first words? first words and it requires handwriting? hmmmm#eye color changing/gray and white world stuff#and ageing#i Wonder what their relationship would be like with th expectation that they would fall in love#i think it wouldn’t go very well for awhile tbh#of course there’s also the soul mates being kept apart story#and when you throw in aging my mind immediately jumps to Dorian Gray esque territory#where Alfred purposefully avoids Ludwig because he enjoys the idea of effective immortality#and Ludwig kinda goes with it at first cause Alfred seems like a selfish douche#but eventually he gets tired of being alive (maybe his friends/family are gone by then)#and he has to debate with himself if it’s even possible for him to love Alfred after this#if it would be worth it trying to get Alfred to fall in love with him#could they actually have a happy ending?#oof I’m making myself sad#can you tell I really liked picture of Dorian gray in high school?#hws germany#hws america
