When I was a kid there was absolutely zero indication I’d be into the hobbies I’m into like I would probably think I was lame as fuck for not having some highbrow nyc literary career. But it’s actually crazy how grounded and well I feel after spending a day doing some foraging, pickling, gardening tasks, and prepping ferments like it’s fucking insane. And I miss the city lifestyle but like…damn this stuff will really have you feeling like an actual organism

#bamboo shoot season is ending but I saw a bunch of baby berries in the overgrown abandoned property near us!!#took a bunch of the leaves for tea lol #it’s nice having somewhere to forage that isn’t like probably drowned in pesticides and exhaust fumes and dog piss lol #i mean. the soil itself is definitely polluted but I’m gonna die of plastics exposure anyway #i want to do some floral syrups this spring like they’re not medicinal or a source of calories or anything but…the latte potential….#idk any good mushroom spots here but hoping to get a giant cooler full of chicken of the woods again #the shawarma I made with it last year like still haunts me it was so so so fucking good
