i think that whenever you’re engaging in online discourse it’s always a good idea to 1. imagine what you would say if you were engaging in this discourse in real life and 2. imagine how you would explain this discourse to someone irl who isn’t directly involved. i think a lot of genuinely pointless online discourse could probably be resolved in this fashion 🤷‍♂️

#yeehaws #discourse #and tbh i feel this way about a lot of proship discourse too #it’s so pointless and completely glosses over a lot of actual nuance and genuine problems #but that’s a conversation for another day #this is also about queer identity discourse. no one irl cares about your online hatred of pansexuals or asexuals or whatever #pansexuals and asexuals and everyone else is going to exist irl whether you like it or not and they don’t care about your stupidity 🤷‍♂️#i know sometimes online discourse is actually important but sometimes it genuinely is just pointless and doesn’t need to exist
