as a rule, I don’t love it when my fave characters are supposedly fluent in my native language and the actor portraying them isn’t, simply because I get horrible secondhand embarrassment from the (completely understandable, of course) accent they have then that makes their rendition unintelligible even to me, and therefore makes the whole thing unrealistic asf. like I get it 100%, but it’s always a little yikes of a moment when I rewatch it.

now. 

that said, remember emily prentiss’ (and by that I mean paget brewster’s) “si tu savais” line in the flashback in Lauren, s6 ep18, at 2 minutes 45 seconds approx, that she says in that even-deeper-than-usual voice with very much intended innuendo plus with that hairstyle and color that will def be the end of me?

listen. the fact that she pronounced it so perfectly, while still being so in character, that she managed to turn me on with such a common phrase of my own damn mother tongue??? 

if that isn’t talent, folks, I don’t know what is.
